Wow. Just wow. Sneaky puzzles and murderous traps, platform bouncing action, snarky humour, and a bucketload of brainbending levels. I can't really fault this on any level. If you want a brilliant and beautiful puzzle platformer, go by this now. Even if you don’t, buy it anyway.. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

It's aight. Not my type of game, but it's good. Lacks a story. Basically a speed-run puzzler kinda.

SBD is a clever puzzle game. It reminded me of Portal, but has a lot of stealth elements in it, too.

What's missing is character. A lot of indie games have beautiful artworks, an unusual setting or music so distinct that it would never make it into a AAA title. That's where indie games usually shine. But SBD is a little boring in that respect. The presentation seemed quite mediocre, music was terrible... But one thing in SDB's favor: I loved the ending. Not only funny but also very intelligent.

Despite it could be better in the mentioned aspects, SBD was great fun to play. Recommended to anyone.

Extremely interesting game. Comedic, tricky, thought provoking puzzles that will genuinely puzzle any Portal vet. Especially for the price it's offered at, its fantastic.

The graphics are excellent, the controls are tight, but this really feel more like an infuriating puzzle game than anything else. If you love solving very hard puzzles and doing so very fast and flawlessly then this game is for you. If you are a meticulous stealther or dislike puzzle games move on.

I wish the previews had conveyed more of the puzzle element. I'll research more

Uno de los juegos que mejor representan el potencial del GameMaker. Muy interesante para aprender desarrollo de niveles en juegos de infiltración y plataformas. Vale la pena comprarlo en rebajas.

Can I recommend Stealth Bastard Deluxe to casual players and their families with clear conscience? There are for sure many things that I like about the game - good level design, many interesting puzzles to solve, functional system of light and dark, challenging yet not frustrating difficulty, responsive and user friendly controls, online leaderboard, beautiful pixel art graphics and atmospheric music. There are also some things that I dislike - lack of proper story, trial and error approach, necessity to have the brightness almost on the maximum to see some areas and the absence of RPG elements that would enhance the gameplay. Stealth Bastard Deluxe is suitable for family playing if you have at least 10 years old kids as the depiction of your hero’s deaths is quite explicit and the difficulty would be also too high for younger kids. Unfortunately, there is no local co-op in the game which would make the game even better. Like this you can still compete to see who can finish the level in better time and get the higher place in the leaderboard. The good thing is that the game has a level editor and support of community levels so the new content which can make the game last longer is guaranteed.

    Pros:
    - level design
    - puzzles
    - functional dynamic lightning
    - difficulty
    - controls
    - leaderboard
    - graphics
    - music
    - community levels

    Cons:
    - lack of story
    - trial and error approach
    - too dark sometimes
    - absence of RPG elements
    - no local multiplayer

Despite of many deaths I have really enjoyed Stealth Bastard Deluxe thanks to the instant gameplay, inventive level design and interesting puzzle to solve and let’s be honest thanks to the presence of leaderboard as well and thus I am giving the game Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s Index 8 out of 10 - recommended.

The concept of Stealth Bastard is ripe for a mind-bending puzzle adventure. Alas, instead of teasing our brains, Curve Studios made a tedious exercise for training finger strength.

A fantastic package, and a genuinely unique take on the puzzle platformer. [March 2013, p.89]

Do stealth games have to be so slow? Stealth Bastard Deluxe has an answer – no, they don’t! Well, you can argue whether it’s a real stealth game or rather a platformer but the important part is that it’s very addictive and well-balanced. [CD-Action 02/2013, p.49]
