    For those who don't own the original PC version of SoD and bought the YOSE. Good luck, ppl. Hope the Dead Labs won't troll u guys again;-) They sold their soul to the Micros$ft.

    It's funny how probably only the guys that work over at Undead Labs gave this a positive review and downvoted any negative comment. The game is identical to what it was. Same bugs. Same **** graphic. Only you have an option to change it to 1080p. Not only that, but they stopped supporting the old buggy game.     Forget all the good reviews that you have read about this game, this is the same game with no special addition.

    - Controls. Whoever created, fire him or train him. After looting, I have to press each direction's button twice to make my character move properly. We can get used to car controls but it's...khm...well, you guys must know it.
    - Home. We get the point...we're in the middle of hell on earth and stuff but defending your home either is too easy for hours or it's hard as fk. Once my home was overrun 20-25 mins after I've pressed "start a new game" because threat level evolved to 3 but why...? - other time I was waiting at least 2 hours to get to 2 from level 1.
    - Rewarding. Omg, every time we finish no matter which episode, we get this nonsense **** closure. C'mon guyz, do we have to really send our ideas how to close a story? I'm in games development too and this is a very basic rule: reward the player or he's gonna get bored. Easy.

    If you guys would pay attention for what I wrote (and what other players say), within a year or two you can develop prolly the best zombie survival action/management game ever. Please don't fk it up.    … Expand

    You see: I already own State of Decay with all the addons and it was obvious that they were just reselling the whole deal with almost no viable improvements for a mere 33% price reduction.
    But I bought YOSE anyway. I just loved State of Decay, as crappy as the game is. Was it worth it? Well.. consider the    When the YOSE edition was announced I was certain that I would not buy it.

    Well.. consider the following:
    I have been experiencing a string of pc crashes.
    Is it my rig or the game that is to blame?
    Let's see.
    I used this pc to play more thant forty games over a three years time span. This includes such games as Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout Las Vegas, Mass Effect 1-3 and Saints Row III and IV. No game besides State of Decay makes my pc crash. In fact this pc was made to render movies. I render 1080 p movies with no pc crashes. I also use it to render movies, play games, runs browsers, run you tube, run a music player and photoshop using two screens all at the same time without the pc crashing. For hours!
    But I tried to fix my pc anyway as they suggested: I upgraded the drivers, shut down my multi display, checked and altered various settings, lowered the graphical settings and so on and so. But still the game makes my pc crash.
    In fact.. YOSE makes my pc crash more often than the old State of Decay did.
    So given this.. what do you think might be the cause of my pc crashes?
    If your answer is: not State of Decay, then by all means, go and buy YOSE.

    Bought this game on launch and played 81 minutes.
    Those 81 minutes were filled with crashes, freezes, bugs and stutters and very little enjoyable gameplay.
    I did enjoy the original, so much in fact that i was willing to ignore this blatant rip off attitude and spend money again on a more polished, bug free version. Well, they didnt do anything but put a few flame decals on a car, fcked    Bought this game on launch and played 81 minutes.

    This is an early short review, but from what i've played the YOSE edition is worth it to the hardcore fans and new comers to the series. The graphics in this edition are still not mind-blowing in terms of performance, but it does look noticably better than the original.     Basically this is a complete edition focused for new comers to the series. Unless you really love the game and want all the extras, there is no reason to re-buy this edition if you already own it. Nor is there a reason for the ridiculous amount of entitled whining you see every time one of these editions gets released. If you don't feel it's worth it, then don't buy it.

    One warning I want to give is that this edition requires a Direct X 11 video card, it will not run on the same older hardware as the original State of Decay. So that is something you'll want to double check on if you're thinking about buying it.    … Expand

    Fun! A friend recommended this game to me, and at first I was hesitant, but it was on sale on Steam, and I hadn't really played a zombie game before. The game isn't deep or anything, and doesn't have a long vanilla storyline, but it delivers what it is, very well. Cracking zombie heads, having to scavenge resources, having control over numerous characters with different strengths andFun! A friend recommended this game to me, and at first I was hesitant, but it was on sale on Steam, and I hadn't really played a zombie game before. The game isn't deep or anything, and doesn't have a long vanilla storyline, but it delivers what it is, very well. Cracking zombie heads, having to scavenge resources, having control over numerous characters with different strengths and weaknesses, it's fun.

    The characters are a bit too powerful for true realism, as one character can often kill dozens of zombies alone during a mission, but that cheesy lack of realism was funny. Plus you can bash zombie heads apart with a knee-butt, or bash their heads apart by palming their skull and slamming it into the ground. A bit overpowered survivor characters, but that's what it was all about.

    And also, if you get bored of the vanilla game, there 2 expansions. One is story driven, the other is not. Remember I said the characters were overpowered? Well, the Breakdown xpac can reset the map at a higher difficulty level at your discretion.

    Not everybody is going to like this game, but it is a niche game that delivers strongly in it's niche. I find it easy to go back to, the gameplay is simple and with some imagination, might feel a bit like a Simms game except with zombies, and you might even get attached to a character.

    Since it delivers in its niche, sticks to its roots, and is enjoyable and easy to revisit, I give this game a low-green 8, which is excellent! I await to see if they'll make an SoD2. In the meantime, if you need to have some zombie head bashing fun, with light RPG and survival elements, then this is the game you need to play.    … Expand

    Introduction
    Now onto the review itself, state of decay is a zombie survival game. You play a community trying to survive in what ever **** walled building you can lay your hands on. The game itself is split into three gamemodes if you will: the main story, breakdown (loot the map and move onto a harder version of the map) and lifeline (I have played much of the last).

    Graphics
    Simply put the visuals feel clearer and more polished then the original game. There are a few dodgy textures here and there that feel like temp/hold overs but with some luck undead labs or modders can fix them. Also now supports 1080p which is nice.

    Gameplay
    Gameplay is much the same, you'll get the same dialog as before and you'll likely ignore it now like you did the last 100 times. A few new guns have been added (least I've been told) and there seems to be a pre-order character you can play now.

    Overall
    I'm not going to go nito the debat about if this one's better then the original or not. State of Decay: YOSE is a HD remake of one of the best zombie survivals (most likely the best one) that brings this two year old classic back from the dead (no pun intended =P).

    What remains to be seen is what Undead labs will do with this new version of their game? Will they add more content (hopefully co-op, not holding my breath there though)? or just leave this game to rot in gaming hell (ok, that one was intended :D)?    … Expand

    Truth be told I had not bothered with this version as I am jaded as they get with this game; so out of boredom I reinstalled state of decay, but lo, there is this new version and of course I want that one, so installed.     The zombie spawn mechanic, and wow is this ever still awful, so they made it happen more often and zombies can spawn close, Iv had them spawn right on me many times, the original mechanic was garbage because there was zero consistency, there was no thinning affect in fact given a little thought the current mechanic could have been made more logical and not driven me nuts, like have no daytime spawns and a greater likelihood of swarms at night, include an attrition to the population that tracked the overall kill total you did in each of the main areas. no real thought went into improving this part of the game.

    They retained the headache where base members just go missing or head out sick, and yes it still makes no sense that you cant relegate orders as to how stays and who goes out foraging, (in an updated version), modding that out made it less annoying.

    those were my biggest 2 large beefs with the original, and they didn't improve in this one. I didn't need to explore the game further to see this was the same game with little added and the same bugs. Any owner of the older title should remember the wall glitching zombies, floaty flip prone cars, spawning inside supposed safe zones and the such.    … Expand

Except you, you have to cuddle them, walk them till they blow up some steam or they are pooped and satisfied, you have to be the sexy nurse for all sort of idiots who don't give a flying f**k about you. It doesn't matter if you are tired, you cannot simply sleep because there are noOne is sad, one is angered for no reason, one is hurt, one is not interested or not want to just because. It doesn't matter if you are tired, you cannot simply sleep because there are no free beds. You cannot even sit into a goddamn chair to wait - no such rocket science commands like wait or rest or sleep - until morning. No difference between large backpacks and small ones, you cannot swap between characters in certain missions (anger management to make them carry more than 4 stacks of MRE), you are the only mule who can carry stuff life ipubrofen, ameno..s*itfen and all sorts of fens (having called them simply PAINKILLERS probably would not have been being realistic) into stacks of 3 (THREE) only for the sake of so called "survivalism". For the sake of same "survivalism" you cannot have stacks of bullets greater than 30; moreover when you pick up bullets from stash you pick up them ONE BY ONE. Items magically disappear from loot if you didn't pick them when searched. Abysmal. Don't bother. Even for free. It's just a no name zombie game among hundreds of no name zombie games.… Expand

    As a stand alone product, this is a good zombie survival game with enjoyable game play and solid mechanics. As a "Final Edition" it leaves a little to be desired, but still worth playing.

    It may not be the best zombie game there was but it has its crooked charm and replayability. There still are bugs and I don't really care about graphics, some features are either buggy or annoying but I enjoyed coming back.

    No lo considero mal juego, pero si se me hizo bastante repetitivo. El final me chocó bastante, me quedé con ganas de mas. Típico survival en un mundo infectado por zombis. Debes recolectar comida, medicinas y materiales para sobrevivir cada día a la horda de muertos vivientes.

    this game is a perfect game that has so much potential but is weighted down by all the bugs and un-optimization that this games has. like for example when i was playing the base version of the game and my melee wouldn't work and i was hitting with my gun and how my car got stuck and i had to travel through hordes and a Juggernaut (luckily i managed to    i rate this game an 8.6 out of 10

    This game is so underrated it hurts. It's not the best PC port ever, but it's a hell of a great survival game. Manage a group of survivors, all of which are playable and have different stats. Pick a home base and gather supplies from the nearby towns and abandoned locations. Characters die permanently! It's a deep and addictive zombie-survival game like no other game out there.

    Story-wise you won't be disappointed, but you also won't be taken off your feet. The story is good, it has some interesting characters and plots that add good tension to the game. It also has an interesting mechanic of allowing the players to control any character in their group, so the story technically doesn't have a main character. This makes the game more of a story of a group of survivors rather than a single character.

    Including the two DLCs, the game has quite a lot of content. After completing the main story, You can jump into Breakdown, which is a never-ending survival mode or Lifeline, which comes with a new map, characters and story.

    The gameplay is simple with the combat comprising of simply mashing your left mouse button, with occasional roll to dodge an attack or use of an item to heal yourself or restore stamina. For that reason, the gameplay can become quite repetitive after a while, which is why I had to take a break from the game before checking out the DLCs.

    The controls are where this game failed the most for me. Jumping through windows and over walls can sometimes take a few tries to get the angle just right. The characters also tend to get stuck to a single target, and sometimes that target is a zombie you've already knocked down to the ground, so you're stuck smashing the harmless target as you're taking damage from other enemies.

    Overall, I liked the game. It has a lot to offer, especially with the DLCs. It is a perfect game for completionists and players who like to hoard items and resources in a survival-style game.    … Expand

    It is sad to see such a great chance go to waste. What could otherwise have been a crowning achievement in the zombie survival genre, is basically a re-hash of the same ol' we already got two years ago with a few updated bits here and there. If you're an owner of the original SoD and its DLC's, there's no justifiable reason to get this version. If you aren't, however, do yourself a favour and get it. Yesterday.
