Star Stealing Prince is a freeware RPG game made with RPG Maker. It is rather similar to many other RPG games made with this engine and yet it brought something I hadn't encountered before.
It isn't perfect by any means, but also not bad at all attempt for a free game.
The graphics were nice, with the exception of the weird characters sprites and portraits which I didn't like and didn't find artistic or anything alike. Aside from that, as I said, graphics were nice, nothing too special but with interesting room designs, and also (some) of the monsters were interesting and looked really cool.
The music&sound effects weren't that special as well, not memorable at all, got repetitive at times, and didn't have that many good moments.
The gameplay is (mostly but not only!-read along) your usual RPG gameplay, and unfortunately it doesn't lack some grinding around as the monsters get stronger and stronger and your party would have hard time dealing with them without some leveling up.
Nice thing, though, was the integration of some puzzles in the game using the RPG-Maker engine, which requires some creativity and here it shows, those puzzles were pretty cool (even if sometimes rather easy) and interesting enough, they made the game refreshing and gave a break from the many battles in the game.
The story, the characters and the environment, they all made this game a good experience for me.
While the writing isn't always superb, the whole story is terrific, the characters are pretty interesting, and there are some good twists and turns along the way, and the story generally advance in a good pace and manner.
Even when I got tired of the game the story eventually broght me back, which is pretty awesome for RPG-Maker game.
If you like those stuff, you should definitely give this one a try.…Full Review »
