it's the little things that makes this game good, i played most of digital TCG, most of them, i get bored after a couple of plays, i really love the creatures "speed" idea, the fact you can have multiple hero power on a cooldown, you can do your quest agaisnt AI if you want, of course you got to get use to the subtility of certain mechanic and strategy as they are not easy to catch atit's the little things that makes this game good, i played most of digital TCG, most of them, i get bored after a couple of plays, i really love the creatures "speed" idea, the fact you can have multiple hero power on a cooldown, you can do your quest agaisnt AI if you want, of course you got to get use to the subtility of certain mechanic and strategy as they are not easy to catch at first and not teach on the tutorial, they're is more depth than it looks Expand

Great Magic-like game. It's very generous with in game rewards and you can buy packs with them. didn't feel the need to spend money at all. Not enough cards yet but it's not a big deal, it's a relatively new game. Some cards have slight questionable balance but nothing absurd. and the devs seem to care about the game.

I have never been big fan of any kind of card games. As first I saw this it felt like just copy of hearthstone. But I was surprised about how good this game actualöly is. Its simple and easy to learn and I like playing it.

I have been searching long and hard for a game to replace Magic the Gathering in my life. Spellweaver does well in giving me the required experience, without requiring my wallet. It makes itself unique from other card games currently on the market mostly with its inclusion of a speed stat for creature cards. It was very recently released on Steam, and I am excited for it to be gaining traction and growing and developing. Hopefully will be seeing it as a standalone competitor to other similar card games, as it promises a lot. Expand

    - Hero's are completely locked out and you're first to unlock them 1 by 1 which seems it'd take over 50-100 games to unlock the next so better- Hero's are completely locked out and you're first to unlock them 1 by 1 which seems it'd take over 50-100 games to unlock the next so better not pick the wrong one to unlock.
    - Boring gameplay, worse then the typical Heathstone/Duelyst standard

    - Boring gameplay, worse then the typical Heathstone/Duelyst standard
    - Heavily RNG based which you're more likely to see a loss coming from your first hand if your against your counter hero
    - Average of 20-35 minutes per game... you might as well go play MTG at that point, it'd even be faster I bet
    - Zero mechanics in place to speed up the games speed, its just slow the entire match for no good reason
    - Nothing unique added to stand it out of the crowd rather then a generic clone
    - Interface looks like it was made in MS Paint
    - Even more expensive then Hearthstone/MTG
    - Pay To Win, no CCG can escape from this model. If you need a rare card to complete that combo, you just to suck it up. Pay and buy that booster. Sure you can do quests to grind gold, but cold hard currency will always triumph.
    - Themes so generic. Undead vampire nobles, elves of the forest, barbarian wastelands, the theme is a copy of any other Tolkienesque/Warcraft themed game. You basically see elves, gnomes, dwarves, angels, vampires, etc. The same creatures in Might and Magic Duel of Champions.
    - The server crashes constantly. I have approx 40 hours playing time i think....Probably 38 of those hours have been spent looking at a 'Lost connection to server' msg.

I've had around 10 disconnects IN THE MIDDLE OF A MATCH, Balance is all over the place and you'll probably never have a close match. The game is currently riddled with too many basic problems for you to care

Deep, beautiful, generous, professional and extremely well designed!
If you like "traditional" card games like "Magic the Gathering", you will love this gem!

I have played many card games already and Spellweaver is really growing up on me. This game has much more potential than any other CCG. It is no HS-killer of course, but it is wonderful game.

Spellweaver is easily my favorite online card game on the market right now. The rules will feel instantly familiar to a mtg player, but it has plenty of unique spins to the formula to add it's own strategic depth, while allowing the game to flow smoothly (which I believe is REALLY important to a online cg)

The game has plenty of variety in regards to card types and effects, and given the freedom allowed to you during deck building, there is quite a scope of possible deck archetypes. Which i believe will only improve with the expansion the devs have planned.

On top of that, the game boasts a VERY generous f2p business model. You pick one of the 6 starter decks when you first start the game, and then you can acquire the others with game currency or store bought credit, and you get one for free each 5 levels you attain on your account (you get xp in every game mode). Plus, you get a daily quest for each starter deck acquired, you get plenty of reward for each level, and there's a hearthsone arena-like mode (acessible with game-acquired currency) in which you draft a deck from a selection of random cards and then compete with other players for BIG rewards.

All in all, this is a online card game which I can absolutely recommend.

With the MtG DotP computer games going down the pan progressively since 2013, it's a relief that along came a game that is everything you wished MtG had become.
One could easily assume that being F2P (Free to Play) would also mean it's P2W (Pay to Win), but one would be so wrong in that assumption. Sure spending real cash would speed up the process of acquiring cards, but honestly it's

Sure spending real cash would speed up the process of acquiring cards, but honestly it's not needed, as you get cards from playing and from spending the gold you make along the way to buy booster packs. All in all I can afford to buy 1-2 packs a day with very casual play.

The game play is solid with only occasional eyebrow raising card balance issues. Nonetheless it seems the Dev's care about their game. Totally recommended!

Seasoned TCG player - been there, seen that, but gotta say Spellweaver makes all stars align for me. Great gameplay, art, economy, pretty much nailed the whole thing.

Overall this was a very good modern take on classic games and something that I thoroughly enjoyed having played the physical card games as a youngster.

At the end of the day, though, it doesn’t know its audience — and games that don’t understand who they’re for typically fail to capture anyone.

A perfectly functioning card game. Add two points to the score if you appreciate the majesty of the genre.
