    This game is a console based game and although keys are functioning the entire game is made for game-pad and bad keyboard key-mapping deny you to enjoy a third person shooter game

    Very Sticky controls. it took away from the game too much. There are "tough" decisions to make in the game, but you are so railroaded that they are hardly decisions. The story could have been something amazing, but because of the game play issues and railroading, it just was not worth it.

    Accompanied by Martin Walker and the Delta Force crew, the player begins to explore the sandy city of Dubai. It soon becomes clear that this is no ordinary rescue mission, as John Konrad and his loyal soldiers do not want to be rescued. During the mission, the player's sense of morality is tested more than once, and he has to make difficult choices that affect the lives of many.

    The player explores new locations and battles enemies while leading a team of three skilled soldiers. Sand is an important element of the game, created by dynamic weather conditions. The player has multiple allies or enemies. The player can explore both sand-covered streets and interiors of multi-storey buildings.

    Spec Ops: The Line stands out with its gorgeous visuals and distinctive, sandy colors compared to its release period. The player observes strange-looking landscapes, mostly of skyscrapers surrounded by sand dunes. Besides the single player campaign, the game also features a multiplayer mode.

    The game offers an average of 10 hours of gameplay in the single player section with all its side contents. In addition, the game has four different endings that vary according to the choices made by the player.    … Expand

    Where is the love? I don't want to give a good story away, so I'll talk about what I liked. Graphics are good, but the story as mentioned is great! It definitely sucked me in and this was definitely a game for me to replay at least the end to get all the endings. I also think this game is a work of art.

    Вроде как прикольно, но геймплей малость поднадоедает спустя уже пару-тройку часов. Благо, что игра совсем короткая. Будь чуть длиннее - было бы сильно хуже.

    Так как сам геймплей ничего особо революционного не предлагает, играя на более низких уровнях, вы возможно заскучаете. Сам не знаю, так как играл только на высоком. А вот, что я могу гарантировать - это то, что вы куда лучше вольётесь в роль профессионального солдата и будете сидеть как на иголках во время напряжённых сражений, играя на соответсвующей.
    В своё время игра очень плохо окупилась и вы можете это исправить.

    A pesar de que el gameplay no es nada del otro mundo.
    En la dificultad en la que yo intente jugar, en una parte concreta de la historia. Me resultaba imposible seguir avanzando debido a que mis aliados se morían y tenia que ir a reanimarlos. Y cuando los reanimabas, te mataban, Los pesados parece que tragan balas y cuando juegas con sniper, la mirilla se queda    La historia es un Juegazo.

Y para que la mirilla suba a la altura de la cabeza cuando se bloquea a la altura del cuello, tienes que hacer un gesto exagerado hacia arriba.
    Pero la historia y los giros de guion son increíbles.

Однако, справедливости ради, все эти проблемы связаны с геймплейной или технической точки зрения: шутерная механика взята просто из какого-нибудь Mass Effect, но при этом чувствуется даже хуже, ведь импакта от выстрелов нет; управление очень неудобное; моментами игра ударяется в сложность, из-за чего мне однажды пришлось сбавить на одну, потому что ну невозможно было пройти на максимальной. Технически игра крайне деревянная, а я в свою очередь хотел бросить ее почти сразу, ведь играть в недоделанный кусок, сами знаете чего, мне не очень-то и хотелось, но, даже на свое удивление, я продолжил играть в этот кривой кусок кода. В итоге получил игру, которую я никогда не забуду.
    Сюжет. Именно сюжет и нарратив является причиной всеобщей любви к этому проекту. Он настолько трогает, что никого не оставит равнодушным: множество моментов до сих пор находят отклик у меня в сердечке. Спойлерить я вообще не хочу, потому что я сам подходил к этому проекту, почти ничего не зная, по этой причине хотелось бы, чтобы и вы подошли нему так же. Нужно перетерпеть начало, чтобы насладиться концом (вообще там, даже не доходя до середины, уже становится крайне интересно, но не суть).    … Expand

    Tenia muchas ganas de jugar a esta entrega. Aunque lo he jugado mucho tiempo después he de reconocer que lo he disfrutado bastante. Aunque es muchos aspectos es un juego muy mejorable. La historia, ambientación y personajes acompañan adecuadamente al jugador. Si es verdad que en muchos aspectos la variedad de escenarios y la mayor complejidad de los personajes podrían hacer una mejor experiencia. Lo que mas puede pesarle al juego es la poca variedad en las escenas o momentos de acción. Son poco variados y pecan continuamente de ser muy repetitivos. Pero si es verdad que lo que mas me sorprende del juego es el tema que trata la historia. A priori puede ser un tema algo sensible y polémico debido a como lo aborda y como lo cuenta. Existen escenas que impactan y que te hacen sumergirte en la profundidad del la historia que a mi criterio es lo mas destacable. Si es verdad que esa valentía por parte del estudio es de reconocer y creo que la incorporación sutil de toma de decisiones que tiene el juego te permite meterte en la piel de un verdadero soldado. En este caso creo que mucha gente opinara de mala manera sobre el juego por el tema que trata y como lo aborda. Pero creo que la intención de Spec Ops: The Line es de mostrarte que un verdadero soldado no solo tiene que cumplir ordenes sino también tomar decisiones difíciles.    … Expand

    With its pretty basic cover shooter mechanics this game would probably not have been as well received if it weren't for its amazing narrative. I don't want to say much on it cause of spoilers but the twists are really well thought out and the levels are really gorgeous even for today's standards. Something about the vast desert in the background brings feelings of awe

    Игра представляет из себя тупой тир, так ещё и от первого лица. Многие хвалят декорации, хотя в них нет ничего особенного. Сюжета тут по сути почти никакого нет. Очень перехваленная игра.

    la modalidad de juego es muy lineal, pero realmente lo que importa de este juego es la historia que aunque talvez digas que no es nada de otro mundo si es para admitir que tiene un buen enfoque a los crímenes de guerra que podemos ver hoy en la actualidad y que nadie se digna a criticar y este juego es un mensaje para los que tienen los ojos cerrados y no como protesta sino como reflexión.la modalidad de juego es muy lineal, pero realmente lo que importa de este juego es la historia que aunque talvez digas que no es nada de otro mundo si es para admitir que tiene un buen enfoque a los crímenes de guerra que podemos ver hoy en la actualidad y que nadie se digna a criticar y este juego es un mensaje para los que tienen los ojos cerrados y no como protesta sino como reflexión.

    this game is often criticized for its gameplay but a lot of them somehow fail to realize that, well, that's kind of the point. the gameplay in this game is overall in a very strange spot. if you really look at the mechanics of this game, you can realize that the gameplay isn't bad but just very surreally empty. the mechanics are actually pretty interesting, and it's surprising how much ofthis game is often criticized for its gameplay but a lot of them somehow fail to realize that, well, that's kind of the point. the gameplay in this game is overall in a very strange spot. if you really look at the mechanics of this game, you can realize that the gameplay isn't bad but just very surreally empty. the mechanics are actually pretty interesting, and it's surprising how much of a difference a single well-placed frag can make a difference in a fire fight. but i think there's one thing that really makes this game feel so empty. specifically, imagine killing a guy in doom and then imagine killing a guy in spec ops. enemies in doom explode in the most gruesome way possible but enemies in this game just fall to the ground. there's no impact in shooting a gun nor is there impact in killing an enemy. just a loud scream and a fall to the ground. there's really no moment that makes you feel cool or like a hero, and for me honestly, that's the best part.… Expand

    I still recommend this game but it just really bored me. I don't think it is bad but it is definitely not a 9/10.
    I went in thinking I would feel bad but the story did nothing for me. And the gameplay isn't exactly enjoyable. I really wanted to love it but I just didn't.

    Every player needs to finish this game. One of the best stories ever made. Gameplay is average and graphics is still good by the way. But story... Oh man...

    This was a really incredible game which sadly shows the ''meat''on the bone in the last chapters but still allowing you to piece the entire story from the very beginning of the game( if you pay attention to the small details). The game play is your basic run and shoot ''COD'' style, the AI of your enemies is decent and the shooting is very fluid and solid. This is one of the rare few examples on how to make an amazing and beautiful game environment, everything looked amazing and I never knew that a destroyed full with sand Dubai can look so beautiful , every scenery just looks amazing and get's you hooked + it's masterfully crafted like **** should totally buy this game in full price since it's worth every buck , the only annoying parts were the rail way shooting segments and the non stop wave of enemies that get pretty boring after the first hour. 9/10… Expand

The game is incredibly ham-fisted about its message and I feel like the game tries to guilt you a bit too much, but it's nice to see bigger games attempt something like this.

    - Story: Solid but not that mind blow that I expected. And very short (took 5,5h).
    - Animations: Very bad
    - Music: Repetitive. Post rocky, there is even a Mogwai Track (10/10 for that).

    Simply the best game of all time. Perfect story, very beautiful graphics, replay factor. This game is spectacular, an almost perfect game, the gameplay is fluid, the dubbing and acting are out of the curve, a game to stay in memory.

    One of the only military shooters that explore the morality of killing this deep and its simply amazing. The story is terrific but the shooting isnt as good but still acceptable.

    I bought it in 2020 for real money and after 3 hours of play time the game crashes due to a critical error. The story doesn't go on. It can never work. I don't get my money back! It's worth nothing! Disgusting!

    This could be one of the most underrated games! But this Third Person Shooter game has an amazing war story! I liked this game very much! I definitely recommend it! Nonetheless, keep in my mind that Spec Ops: The Line ends too quickly. 4hrs on record.

    Spec Ops: The Line is a great 3rd person shooter that shines in its story, which is surprisingly deep, and in its gameplay, which is fun to play. The only downside are its lenght and a generic multiplayer, but it is worth on sale.

    The game has a story that really hits the points of the blurriness of morality when it comes to conflict or war. It sucked me in from the beginning, and hit me hard with some of the choices that you were lead to make during the story.

Wouldve easily been 9 out of 10 but i want to be honest in reveiwing it. The graphics were very good back in the time when it was released. The controls and camera is very poor!     This was a pretty good experience. The story is the most unique I've played in the military shooter genre. The actual combat however was just too basic. It wasn't bad, but it was just a little basic and generic. This game is still worth checking out.

Your    'Spec ops: the line' is an effective psychological third-person shooter that perfectly asks 'you' the player if your actions of carnage truly justify the means.

    The game looks deeply at 'madness', 'violence' and really captures that feeling of disgust as you move through the crumbling city of Dubi, killing all that stands in your way to saving the civlilians, and evacuate the city? Your many objective isnt clear clear until the games final moments, where it the TWIST really saves what, very much on the surface, seemed like a very mediocre shooter.

    The saving grace of this game is it's Story and characters. The question it asks 'you' the player, how it makes you really question the importance of war and violence.

    Otherwise, the actual gameplay is like any Third-Person tactical shooter. It's not very unique or intresting honestly. You really are ONLY hear for the narritive.

    For it's price, and it's rather short length. Spec ops the line is defintely worth buying and playing. It's really nice and contained...its replay value is weak...but the story really sticks with you, and the visual display is also quite impressive. The setting is quite gorgeous.

    This cannot be more of a generic third person shooter (albeit with cranky controls) than it already is, but that's not the main selling point of this game. Spec Ops: The Line is crafted to drop jaws with its plot twists and diverge from the usual pattern of a military story, giving players the opportunity to glance at the bitter realities of a soldier going through war.

    This game is absolutely spectacular. I am playing this in 2019 and I can't stress enough just how fun it is, how worthy an experience it remains to date. But these ways in which the game have aged are nothing, made irrelevant by the timeless power of a good narrative and superb storytelling.

    Spec Ops suffers from one of the most generic, boring game titles I have ever seen. When a friend first showed it to me, I thought it was a CoD knockoff, a typical US army shooting foreigners shebang (with added sand) and I dismissed it immediately. It was only years later after I started playing fps games and saw reviews praising the dark and complex narrative of Spec Ops that I returned to this game.

    I'm just consistently shocked by how much this game gets right. Everyone always talks about the amazing story and how the story is presented to the player (the perfect way: through gameplay and not through expositionary dialogue), but it's not just the story, the gameplay is hella fun too. The sand mechanics are a treat whenever they come up, and little touches, like when throwing a grenade onto sand creates a smoke screen with the sand, make all the difference. The squad management system is barebones at best but it adds a little bit of freshness to traditional fps gameplay, like when you are being heavily suppressed by a turret you can command your squad to take out the turret while remaining in safety.

    Playing this game now I'm saddened by how little it seems the game industry has learned from this game in the past 5+ years. It's a challenge to the industry, a challenge to Call of Duty and other mindless, borderline racist fps games, and clearly this challenge has gone unanswered, basically ignored. This game is a Call of Duty killer. It poses a question about the "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality that Call of Duty promotes.    … Expand

    Hadn't played this game on release, but after recently finishing it I understand its great reception. Great counter to the popular shooters at the time ideologically. Gameplay unfortunately is pretty generic though, being a simple cover shooter essentially.

    Cool game. A well-constructed plot allows us to reveal the main point that there are no good ones in the war, and the war is something terrible and the developers have shown it very well. High-quality and multifaceted game in terms of storytelling.

    Were it not for some technical issues and console-related shortcomings (gamepad controls and no anti-aliasing), Spec Ops: The Line would be one of the best games for 2012. But, things being as they are, it remains merely a diamond in the rough, destined for wicked crazy status within the following years. Definitely superior to the related series of Kane & Lynch, it proves that, with a steady vision and soul, a genre so clichéd like military shooters, can not only surprise us pleasantly, but totally overwhelm us.
