Sonic Mania, as well as Sonic Mania Plus Encore, are exactly what the Sonic franchise needed to breathe some life back into it. The ball is in play, and it gives fans hope for the series to improve going forward.

Though not without flaws, if you want to experience the original magic of Sonic without having to dig out an old Sega Genesis console (yet also be treated to a dash of newness) this is definitely a title to pick up.

Amazing smoothly controls and great music makes this the best 2D game since Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I can't wait to see a wholly original project from this team.

And honestly, game was an 8 till I realized all playable characters can go super. Thanks for including that and caring so much.

And yes, the Encore DLC is worth buying. Being able to play as Mighty and Ray alone makes it worth it.
