Apr 27, 2026Sol Cesto is a roguelike that transforms probability into pure gameplay: you choose a row, but the outcome is random, with percentages shifting every turn. The system—initially simple—grows in complexity thanks to modifiers, abilities, and items that allow you to bend the odds in your favor, creating a surprising depth of strategy. Its true limitations, however, lie in a slow progression and a heavy reliance on chance—factors that can lead to frustrating runs, even with solid builds. Nevertheless, it remains an original and intelligent experience, capable of standing out within the dungeon crawler landscape.

Apr 28, 2026Sol Cesto presents a creative concept, with a probability-based system that generates tense decisions and interesting moments. Its dark atmosphere, striking visuals, and distinctive mechanics help build a unique identity, even if the execution doesn’t fully explore the potential of these ideas. In the end, the experience is more likely to appeal to those who enjoy taking risks and don’t mind repetition or the strong influence of chance. On the other hand, those looking for something more elaborate, with greater strategic control and consistent variety, may find reasons to be disappointed.

Apr 17, 2026Does Sol Cesto frustrate me? A little bit—since despite all the tweaks one might make to the probabilities, the luck factor remains absolutely paramount, and—unluckily for me—I have none whatsoever. Does that make Sol Cesto a bad game, though? Absolutely not. The gameplay loop is still very cleverly designed to be addictive, and the art direction has a charm of its own, featuring a well-executed blend of the zany and the macabre. Moreover, the very fact that the game puts us through the wringer is precisely what makes it so captivating, compelling us to experiment and uncover its secrets.
