    The game is nice if you just want to sneak and kill Nazis, however it gets a little old rather fast, Gives little to no story beyond "Must kill Vahlen" even if you include the obligatory "German soldiers also have families" diaries spread around. Beyond that 2 major nuisances kept popping up. One is whether or not the Germans keep talking German. When the antagonist is taunting i can understand the English. but in a "Eavesdrop" cut-scene the Germans talk English again despite never talking English later or during combat. Make up your mind! The last nuisance where the "Mini-boss" battles where a tank suddenly arrives in the map and you MUST destroy it, which can be annoying and a pace-breaker. after the second it stopped being fun/sudden. In overall the game had plenty of room to move, but didn't. resulting in a bit of a dissapointment....Oh yeah and there is the kill-cam that gets boring fast and so forth.… Expand

    i dont feel the series evolve with this game.
    it introduces some new mechanics but executes poor which makes this game inferior to SE2

    Sniper Elite III is set several years prior to the events of Sniper Elite V2, following the exploits of Office of Strategic Services officer Karl Fairburne as he participates in the North African conflict during World War II, in which he learns of a secret wonder weapon programmed by the Nazi forces. Just like in V2, the story here is boring and uninteresting, and our protagonist    Story:
    Sniper Elite III is set several years prior to the events of Sniper Elite V2, following the exploits of Office of Strategic Services officer Karl Fairburne as he participates in the North African conflict during World War II, in which he learns of a secret wonder weapon programmed by the Nazi forces. Just like in V2, the story here is boring and uninteresting, and our protagonist is the same generic American hero from the 1st. Honestly, I could just paste my V2 review of the story here and no one would notice because of how bad both game's narratives are. 2/10

    Gameplay:
    Everything returns from the 2nd game along with a few tweaks added. The awesome bullet-cam, smart A.I., hidden collectibles, good level design, and improved customization are here along with a weapon wheel, and a progressional system that applies to both single player and multiplayer. There are 8 missions in total, and each one will take around 20+ minutes if you take your time with each of them. Unfortunately, the bad combat also returns with the cross-hair still being a pain to use when spotted. In conclusion, the gameplay here is largely unchanged from the 2nd game. 6/10

    Graphics:
    The biggest change/improvement this game has is in its graphics department. The setting of Africa is a more interesting setting for the game than the generic Berlin setting in the 2nd game. Because of this, the colors and world design had to match the setting. There's more vibrant colors here than in the 2nd, the textures are better here, the particle effects are improved, and the facial models look more updated. So be happy you'll have a prettier game to look at when you're sniping some poor guy's testicles off. 9/10

    Sound:
    As with the 2nd game, the sound design is great with the sniper shots sounding excellent and realistic. The score also does a good job with sound ques when you get spotted. Everything else also sounds good. The sound here is essentially the same as with the 2nd. 8/10

    Multiplayer:
    The multiplayer is the same as in the 2nd game just with less buildings in some of the maps. Since you can use your single player loadouts in the multiplayer, that allows for more customization than in the 2nd. Everything else however, feels like the 2nd game all over again. 6/10

    Verdict:
    If you enjoyed V2, get this game. If you hated V2, skip this game. If you haven't played V2, I'll say get this at around $30 or lower. It's essentially Sniper Elite V2, but with more replay value. If you want more info on how this game is, just go to my profile, and look for my V2 review as this game feels a lot like the 2nd, just slightly improved.

    I don't understand why this is got 117 positive reviews maybe it's the luck of the draw and I'm just really unlucky? Because for me this game has been real glitchy for my friend and I. I don't know much about single player because I play with my friend on multilayer and its just horrible. The bodies go into rag-doll form and flip when shot. There are barely any x-ray kill cams which II don't understand why this is got 117 positive reviews maybe it's the luck of the draw and I'm just really unlucky? Because for me this game has been real glitchy for my friend and I. I don't know much about single player because I play with my friend on multilayer and its just horrible. The bodies go into rag-doll form and flip when shot. There are barely any x-ray kill cams which I heard happen a lot to other people. And the graphics aren't even that great. I mean I fell through the world three times, and you know your partner can't reach you and save you through the world so its an automatic failure.     Very repetitive and the enemy doesn't seem to be particularly intelligent. After a while it gets a bit boring, a pity it wasn't more intellectually challenging like some other games.

    Gfx, sounds, game engine etc. are just ok.

    So I have been playing Sniper Elite III for a few days now, and I have a few things to say about it: Overall, it's very fun, the stealth mechanics make the game more interesting, it gives you a challenge. You're constantly having to manage where is and where isn't a safe place to shoot from. I recommend you play this game on Elite enemy difficulty and limited ballistics, it's only onSo I have been playing Sniper Elite III for a few days now, and I have a few things to say about it: Overall, it's very fun, the stealth mechanics make the game more interesting, it gives you a challenge. You're constantly having to manage where is and where isn't a safe place to shoot from. I recommend you play this game on Elite enemy difficulty and limited ballistics, it's only on elite that the enemies would function like a real soldier would when a sniper is around, when they know your location, they will actively sweep the area around you in a sequence, making it much more enjoyable to pick them off one by one while relocating around the map. The reason I only recommend limited ballistics is because it adds that extra level of immersion and it's still easy to use. Playing on the highest ballistic level makes it a bit too difficult, the wind seems to be blowing at 100 mph 24/7 on that difficulty, and it's near impossible to pull off a successful hit without steadying your aim. The game also only has 8 missions, they're all about an hour long and have plenty of different ways to go about them. Oh, and I have noticed a few bugs here and there, most of which are not game breaking in any way except one. Every now and then, there's a bug where your weapons won't damage enemies, it's very annoying, but easily fixable, just reload your last save, luckily it only occurs right after you save, so you won't have to work your way back to where you were. If it happens, just quicksave and reload, problem solved(I have only noticed this bug in story mode). The game does have some replablility for the completionist gamers. There are many collectibles scattered around every map containing various things like important information, letters from soldiers, etc. As well as the story, there's also a multiplayer and a survival mode. I played a bit of both and they both seem very fun. Survival mode is the traditional horde mode, where you defend against wave after wave of enemies, and I will say, it's pretty tricky. It takes some serious skill to complete survival mode, so it can keep you busy for awhile if that's your thing. The multiplayer seemed very fun as well. The maps are well designed for sniping and there can be some pretty intense counter-sniping battles to be had. I think this game deserves at least a 7. It is very fun and I do recommend it, but the fact that there are still a few bugs present, and there's only eight missions, makes it fall lower on my ranking as a whole.… Expand

    Sniper elite 3 is good improvement over its predecessor. Beautiful graphics and smooth running make this game an enjoyable experience. Environment, looks great, non linear missions, different levels. A lot of sniping if you want or you can be Sam Fisher ( but not that goo Sam Fisher ). Interestingly i did not use traps and improvisation as much as in its predecessor , somehow there was noSniper elite 3 is good improvement over its predecessor.     A good game, it can be a bit boring after a while since the game is pretty repetetive but there is big replayativity in this game since it's always fun shooting them nazi scumbags in the nuts!!! It deserves atleast a 8 recommend buying that you buy it on sale on consoles or just buy it for like 35 pounds on steam

    A little more cerebral than your standard shooter. The stealth elements are much improved over previous versions which makes setting up a good shot all the more worthwhile. Later levels are a little disappointing as you are all too often forced into small environments where sniping becomes nigh on impossible. I mean seriously; why would you get a sniper to infiltrate a bunker... flat answer is you wouldn't. You'd stick him on the hill and bung the master chief in the bunker. Which brings me on to the story... its sucks. I can't even recall what it is about, something to do with some Germans in Africa. But then this game isn't really about the story, its about the sniping, which is why its a bit disappointing flailing around in a bunker shooting inappropriately placed gas containers.… Expand

    This was my first entry into the Sniper Elite franchise and I am not afraid to admit that I bought the game for the simple outlet of a power fantasy supported by a most satisfactory depiction of successful hits.     Speaking of the passages. I played the game solely on the authentic mode, because I tend to like a challenge, which is just nonexistent if one can save at any point in time. It took me a few tries to identify the games mechanics, especially when it comes to stealth. But in the end I liked it quite a lot. It is good when just by playing you start to understand how the rules of the game work and can immediately start to apply them and get feedback for your decisions.
    The AI is not very clever, predictable really, but I call that a plus for this kind of game. The view range in daylight is already quite a hassle if you try to go Ghost (never be seen at all). Especially in a game where you are supposed to be the lone incredibly skilled super soldier I want a certain predictability in order to plan out how to clear out an area and that satisfying feeling to have a plan work in the very end.
    Graphic is fine, the gory part (x-ray cam) has a lot of effort put into it, although I mostly only get to see the inside of the head, guess that is based on play style.
    Most enjoyable of all was the ability to play coop with one friend. Synchronized shots during noise to take out two people before either can react to the other's death, multi angle scouting of an area. Using one player as bait and having the other in a snipers nest pick of the baited enemies. If I was to judge just my coop experience so far I would give it a 9 out of 10 for the pure joy of it.
    Major flaw for me is the wobbly responsiveness in using items and aiming them, especially when it comes to placing stuff on the ground.
    My final rating is based on my enjoyment of the game so far, which would encompass fifteen hours of play, half of it being in coop.    … Expand

    Looks great fully maxed out (I played ultra at 1600p - gorgeous). Fluid movement, good AI (extremely good at higher difficulty), good pacing, and HUGE OPEN WORLDS. Definitely pick it up on sale if you like this genre. You will enjoy the experience and it has some truly unique features. Polishes up Sniper    Great gameplay AND x-ray, slo-mo nutshots. In this game, you can't run in guns blazing, because even though you can equip machine guns and pistols, you'll be dead in an instant. Instead, you have to be slow and careful. You have to snipe while loud noises are happening to avoid detection, or take enemies out up close with stealth takedowns or a silenced pistol.

    The stealthy approach is what makes this game stand out among other shooters on the market. Even with a sniper rifle in your hands, a good vantage point, and loud noises to mask your shots, you still have to steady your breathing and take wind and gravity into account when firing, so you're never firing off shots like crazy. Pressing the E key makes your character hold his breath and steady his aim, which causes a little red diamond to show you where the bullet will fall. Using this feature, you can make extremely accurate shots even from the greatest of distances. Kills are extremely satisfying too, thanks to the game's slow-motion X-ray kill cams, which let you see your bullets burst through skulls, lungs and other organs in a shower of gore.

    The single-player presents you with wide-open levels to explore, complete with optional objectives and collectibles. How you tackle these levels is completely up to you, and thanks to the great level design, being spotted doesn't mean you always have to restart from an older save. It's entirely possible to become hidden again, and resume your silent kill spree. The game's levels also strike a smart balance between quiet, stealthy operations, and loud, bombastic scenes wherein waves of enemies rush in just begging to be popped off.

    The game's multiplayer mode incorporates all the elements of the single-player mode, and the leveling system works across both modes, so whether you're playing alone or online, you're constantly unlocking new weapons and equipment. There are also plenty of customization options for online games, so you can choose to make the sniping more or less realistic depending on your preference.

    The game includes standard game modes like Deathmatch, but the best modes are the ones that encourage long distance sniping. No Cross is easily the game's best mode, as there is a barrier in the center of the map, leaving players with no choice but to find a vantage point and snipe from across the level. The game's deliberate pace works well online, making for some really tense moments as you and a rival sniper try to line each other up in your sights. And although there is some occasional slowdown and lag, the multiplayer runs well most of the time.

    The story is hardly worth mentioning, as it's clearly just an excuse to get you into levels and killing people. The voice acting is decent, but the characters and the plot are both extremely barebones. Graphically, however, Sniper Elite III is beautiful. The African landscapes you'll find yourself battling in are all wonderfully realized, and they're helped by great lighting, detailed textures, and good character models. The sound design is wonderful as well, with great battlefield noises in the louder portions and subtle ambient sounds in the quieter parts. Guns are satisfying to fire, and the squishy sound of heads getting blasted is always a macabre delight.

    I can't recommend this game enough. It's got a few issues here and there, such as texture pop-in, slowdown, and its weak story, but the core gameplay should be insanely fun and satisfying to anyone who's a fan of stealth. Even at full price it's absolutely worth the money, which isn't something I often say about games these days.    … Expand

    i have this at a solid 6.5. not noticed much performance issues as yet even though i have a solid but increasingly dated rig. the AI is unfortunately not as intelligent as i would like it to be. if your play style is to run-and-gun like most other fps shooters you will notice the deficiencies pretty quickly. but playing on the higher difficulties (elite and authentic) and playing a morei have this at a solid 6.5. not noticed much performance issues as yet even though i have a solid but increasingly dated rig. the AI is unfortunately not as intelligent as i would like it to be. if your play style is to run-and-gun like most other fps shooters you will notice the deficiencies pretty quickly. but playing on the higher difficulties (elite and authentic) and playing a more measured, stealthy-sniping style, the AI problem isn't that great or noticeable. i have generally found the game fun and engaging. the ability to limit or turn off slow-mo kill cam is appreciated.… Expand

    When i first saw title i thought, "gad! another crapy shooter for kids." As i played it, I stood corrected and surprised.
    Play it on authentic that disables most of hud and no saving through whole mission, no regeneration, only bandages and meds. It gets real then, and u rly pay attention to what u do. And those xray kills are always a eye candy for me :)

    This game is pretty awesome...people say the AI sucks or that it's glitchy...it's been out for 4 days for crying out loud..there will be patches...as far as the stupid AI, they aren't that stupid when you actually PLAY IT ON HARD. Of course they're stupid when you put it on easy...that's the point.

    Only thing that sucks is that the multiplayer crashes hard and often as of the first week.

    nice game , plays a lot like Splinter Cell, Good atmosphere, big maps, weapons are limited and the many bugs and the idiotic enemies makes for a pretty big let down however this game is pretty awesome

    Playable if you patient. First of all interesting thing is when you shoot in bullet time bullets go out in your face. not the rifle. other things aiming too hard to pistol and machine guns. sometimes enemies appear near to you. i really tried to play but i couldnt. its so boring. i think.

    Garbage, bug filled, lack of content crap . The Day 1 DLC is absolutely disgusting considering how little content is there for the asking price. Bugs! Bugs! and more Bugs! The game is a bug filled mess! Only the truly stupid would ever support this developer after this release. It spits in the pc gamers face and shows just how little respect this company has for it's customers.

    Only the most realistic settings removes that "aim cheat" - but that removes all HUD - this game surely lack somewhere in between for those of us who don't want to loose the mini-map but still would like    Game wobbling between way too easy and extremely difficult.

    Oh well, outside this - the game is average-ish.

    The maps are too small, too narrow and tunnels you in specific directions into positions where you can snipe almost with impunity. The AI is dumb, very dumb and although they somewhat react to dead comrades, they seem to be deaf and blind in most all other aspects. Nobody seems to react to an exploding trunk just 100m over, so unless the enemy is in the same "pack" as the ones tied to the truck area, they'll not react.
    And you can either stealth-takedown or shoot with your very quiet silenced gun as well without much reaction, crawl and prone movement is way too quiet and you can often move through line of sight of the enemy if you're just crawling.

    A good number of 'secondary' objectives and the 'levelling' is okay, but when the main gameplay lacks, it just feels tacked on.

    You have a number of weapons so you can "deal with situations in many ways"; but well - when the AI is as it is - there's rarely any need.
    Customization and loadout rarely seems to make much of a difference either, and it seems very much like a missed oppertunity.

    The game looks good though - not as great a some other - but it's good enough, although the desert gets dull fast.

    Only get it if you like sniping and want to play this game on easy-mode or very frustrating-mode    … Expand

Instead Rebellion went down the path of cutting out core content to be resold with the rort of being a 'pre-order bonus'. It's a putrid idea and it is pretty silly to be doing that right in the middle of the Steam summer sale.

    The campaign is set around the time of Monty's Desert Rats (and the Desert Rats are still operational even to this day), only with very little mention of Monty, or his Rats, and more of Rommel and the Afrika Korps. It's definitely stuck to the theme as the title's logo would suggest (no, not the Eagle logo, but the actual palm tree logo - which is the actual logo for the Afrika Korps would you believe.
    This game doesn't 'wobble' between easy and difficult, or at least I didn't think so. This is a variation on Splinter Cell, it's much less modern, very little spying involved - although gathering intelligence does make it into the gameplay in it's very basic form - just picking up papers or blueprints. It's not a bad game, the music may drive you potty, I don't really like the gurgling noise that you get from a lot of the bullet cam kills, and at times the game can be tricky as hell - also more than once I've found myself getting shot through some walls, which is probably more down to bad mesh work than actual game play - although it would put the mesh work in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms to shame - so it's not THAT bad.
    It's a good effort, and it's nice to see they actually managed to mix it up a bit with day and night missions. It's only as short as you make it, and if you think it is short, I really do recommend playing on the authentic setting.
    Be prepared to refer to a map regularly in some cases (especially in the second mission - you'll run round in circles otherwise), and get a little pissed at the rare getting shot at through walls. It's still a decent attempt.
    It would be nice for Rebellion to release games in their entirety though - rather than charging ridiculous sums for little bits and pieces - which I simply won't buy no matter how good a game is.

    I saw quite often enemy bodies flying in the air. One time I encountered an enemy in a ladder and he just went through me without even noticing me (no alarm). One time the objective marker did not even appear and I had to reload from last checkpoint to see it.

    Then the DLC **** 2 out of 5 guns (the best ones) in every categories are only available through DLC. If you don't have them you won't be able to play with them, and if you have you'll feel overpowered.    … Expand

    I enjoyed the game overall But i does get repetitive at times. At the beginning of the game i had to kill spotters and their was one on top of a cliff And no matter how hard i tried I just Could Not Hit him.     Good game, if you really enjoyed sniper elite 2 then you will definitly enjoy this. I keep coming back to redo missions cause the xray shots are just so fun to look at. Gotta agree that there is a couple missions too many with silenced pistol. These maps I found boring and tried using the sniper rifle but it makes the game extremely hard because enemies keep respawning.

    I love the whole bullet thing. I give this game 6 over that. Once you have done the bullet thing though, the game gets stale. Better than most, lacks a lot too. Something Different which should be explored to IV.

It froze up so bad for me I had to hold down the power button on my pc- even task manager wouldn't kill it- after it froze and the X360 controller went into it's vibrating fit. Mind you this was the second restart in an hour. Can't think of any other PC game I've had this level of problems with.     To be honest it's quite a mess compared to the original and the second one. It just feels less polished and rushed. Some times you will sneak up on an enemy and the stealth kill won't pop up and you are forced to shoot them, some times the hit detection is off even though you have the cross hairs right over the enemy, some times you shoot them in the face and they recoil but don't die.To be honest it's quite a mess compared to the original and the second one. And it's deadly. - The camera has some follow through when you aim, so it doesn't stop where you want. You have to learn to compensate. -    I've recommended this game even if I still have mixed feeling about it.

    In spite of these, I found this third opus of Sniper Elite more engaging than the previous ones :
    - The rendering of Africa, both at day and night is beautiful
    - The levels layout offers many ways to approach your mission and take care of enemies
    - All the new features of the "enemy radar" (tagging with your binoculars, sensing where the enemies are, and being informed of their level of awareness) offers a new and refreshing game experience.

    Like previous Sniper Elite games, you'll have to switch between quiet approach + silent kills, long range kills and messy rifle shooting. Each one has advantages and disadvantages, a carries a specific risk / reward.

It seemed like a Call Of Duty ripoff but was actually a pretty fun and challenging sniper game with decent mechanics and good level design.

    Sniper Elite 3 is definitely a "more of the same" game. It's actually a prequel rather than sequel, but the story is weaker than SEV2 and this time around the levels are fairly void of anything memorable unlike some very standout levels in SEV2.
    That being said, the Sniper Elite series is very fun if you like stealth sniper style games. The games bring me back to days of Spec Ops on the original playstation, running around alone with limited ammo and mostly relying on a sniper rifle, being stealthy and knowing when go on the offensive. I sorely missed these types of games, so this fills a void.

    The game format is essentially, 3rd person to move around levels and position yourself for shots, then a first person scope view for gunfights. There's the ability too play somewhat stealthily in these games, but there's also gunfights and assassination missions.
    The main differences between Sniper Elite v2 and 3 is that th levels are now more open and less linear. This dramatically improves the stealth element of the gme as you are no lngr forced into situations where you can't sneak around or flank enemies, plus it means you can psition yourself nearer atmospheric noises to mask your sots. However I feel the sound masking was developed more with SE2 as it had levels with events such as fireworks or the bell of the church which really continued through and was a key feature of those levels. There's not really anything like that in SE3 it's just a mechanic in the levels you can choose to find and use for some kills but not all.

    SE3 also fixes the issue I had with SEV2 with manual saves, allow you to no longer suffer trying to redo a 3 wave gunfight where you'd get to the very last sniper and die because you couldn't flank tham or position yourself properly, and then needing to restart the entire gunfight. Checkpoints were few and far between. SE3 allows you t save whenever you want, in addition to the checkpoints, which seem more frequent anyway. Although this also makes the game far easier as you can essentially save after every kill meaning there's no risk for any action you take.

    SE3 also adds takedowns, so you can takedown an enemy by sneaking up behind them, which is a very welcome addition. The silence handgun is still there from SEV2, but I prefer the takedowns for when yoou manage to get right up to an enemy without them seeing.

    Another thing to mention is the control scheme is better in SE3. The default scheme in SE2 was unpleasant and there was only one other control layout choice available, which allowd you to aim the scope with L2, but meant you lost sprint on L3. In SE3 yu can sprint with L3 and aim the cope with L2.
    SE3 is designed to be a superior game with the non-linear levels, improved controls, and more focus on the Xray bullet cam (which can start to get annoying after every kill, but you can press a button to skip them which wasn't possible on SEv2). However it also lost some of its charm with level design, the levels are less memorable and aren't as creative in terms of design.    … Expand

    Not as polished or fun as Sniper Elite 4, but still fun. Also more true to life than 4 because you don’t get siliced bullets. The traps are not as fun as they are in 4 and you don’t get the whistle option.

Previous versions have essentially been sniping simulators (in the same way that Goat Simulator doesn't actually simulate the life of a goat) - once you got past the trick shots, collectibles were one of the only things that kept the gameplay from becoming very "rinse and repeat". It's not a detailed or authentic MilSim, featuring only a few "real world" conventions applied in a way that's typical of modern gaming - bullet drop, scope shake, breath holding. It's not going to be for everybody, but it's a big advancement for the series, and doesn't feel "lazy" or like a proof of concept like the previous versions sometimes did.… Expand

    It isn't the best weapon in the game, it has terrible fire rate and you have to be fairly accurate with it, beyond that you don't get any other chance to mask the sounds of your shots but to go to specific places around the map where there might be an engine, or a motor that you can sabotage, or activate, in order to then have it make enough noise to mask your shots from time to time, proving that you are close to it.

    This is the problem with the game, because if you're buying this game is probably because you enjoy the rest of the Sniper Elite games, and if not, because you enjoyed v2, and now, 4, and the one thing that separates this series from the rest of games, and the main reason as to why it keeps selling copies to this day, is because it excels at this particular aspect, and this game is no exception to that.

    Sniping in this game feels empowering and brutal, thanks to the x-ray cam that gets trigger for the most part when you shoot at your enemies (plus the fact you can control the frequency of said cam) you get to watch in close and explicit detail the damage that your bullets cause, and this incites a fair amount of morbid pleasure, as you notice your enemies faces literally fall apart, or alternatively when you incapacitate an enemy by shooting at its legs, you can then target the grenades that your enemies carry around on their uniforms, in order to cause a chain reaction to take multiple enemies at once.

    This systems haven't really changed ever since Sniper Elite v2, some things have been refined, and most of the improvements were implemented in the sequel to this game, that being the fourth entry in the series.

    But as for this game, the problem is that it becomes a bit obsolete when you consider how good its successor ended up being.

    Almost every issue that breaks this game, that I've mentioned, got resolved completely in its sequel.

    In Sniper Elite 4 you get more freedom on how to tackle your objectives, more diversity in the levels, the aesthetic is better, the level design is better, the sniping mechanics thanks to silencers for your rifles and bullets is better.    … Expand

There are bugs too, skipping bullet time can sometimes cause shots to disappear, there are some visual issues, issues with planes going over making a louder audio noise that other planes but not enough to cover your shot. Being able to wipe out half a base undetected, with the other half wandering around not realizing or searching for you and giving up and going back to stand guard sometimes over their dead comrades was a frustration for a game aiming for realism.

    Over all I would say yes, this game is worth getting, however only, given it's lowish content, if you can pick the base game up for £15-20. I haven't payed out for any of the DLC's yet so I can't comment on their value, but on the face of it I don't want to spend £7 for a single extra mission.    … Expand

    Sure, stealth is more doable in this title, but that's only because the AI is dumb af. You can literally kill someone in front of dozens of enemies, watch them get a little upset and then go back to their regular routine as if nothing happened. If you go in guns blazing the enemies don't even try to close in on you or flank you, which was a thing in V2. With that said, the game is actually more enjoyable if you throw stealth out the window and just go mindlessly sniping everyone.

    There are some frustrating moments like not being able to shoot through bushes because they're BULLETPROOF, missing a target because there's an invisible wall in front of it or leaning over cover and having a clear shot only for the bullet to somehow hit the wall you're taking cover behind instead. And the best thing is, if you run in an underground tunnel, people way up on the surface can hear you, go "Huh?" and walk all the way down in the tunnel to the very spot where you made the sound. SUPER HEARING ENEMIES.

    There's also an attempt at a storyline that I can't believe anyone cares about. The only fun thing about this game is the bullet cam animations which we already had in V2 and they don't look like they've improved in any way.    … Expand

    The game has everything we loved in Sniper Elite 2 and makes it even better. Amazing visuals, large open places. multiple ways to complete missions and enough settings to vary the difficulty to modify the game as much as you need. This is by far the best sniping game out!

Worse still it shoe horns game play into narrow pre-defined scenario's, in spite of its pretensions of being a free world sandbox shooter.     Can't quickscope, but the fish AI is incredibly well augmented and excecuted.
    Basically sniper v2 in africa, in a sense nothing mush has changed, hopefully the franchise will not become the next call of duty.
    Overall 5/10 decent gameplay.

I'm not big into the stealth shooter genre so maybe the ground it walks on has been tread before, but I've rarely felt as satisfied in gaming before as I do when I set up the perfect distraction to lure an enemy out and then pop them just as a plane flies overhead to mask the sound. It is also cool to play in 3D. The biggest negative for me is that the AIThis game is just plain fun. I'm not big into the stealth shooter genre so maybe the ground it walks on has been tread before, but I've rarely felt as satisfied in gaming before as I do when I set up the perfect distraction to lure an enemy out and then pop them just as a plane flies overhead to mask the sound.     Now for the singleplayer. The gameplay is fun, you got your stealth and stuff which is pretty simple, now for the story. To be honest I found the story really- well, boring. I just didn't care about the story at all. I was to busy in stealth and killing people that I forgot that it had a story (I just remembered when I was writing this review). I think this is the reason I rated it 7/10.

    Friendly Advice for reviewers: Don't rate a game zero just because it has day one DLC, if you can't help it then just stop writing reviews because it just wastes people's time.    … Expand

    Lousy DLCs (camo weapons) and good for nothing weapons. STG-44 was one of the best assault rifles in WW2, here is a miserable beanshooter with which you cannot hit an enemy more than 3 meters from you.
    Camo versions? Please, spare me. I need a good silenced weapon not paint.
    Fallschirmjäger Gewehr 42 rung any bells for you? Instead of Arisaka Sniper Rifle?
    On Sniper Elite mode, they always parry your melee attacks if you are detected.
    Crouching. Sloooooooooow, veeeeeeerrrrry sloooooow. He's not wearing boots, he's wearing buckets. This game adores to waste your time.
    The game annoyingly warns you "Relocate!" and you hear German soldiers shouting "Wachs en bleiben!" (Stay awake!) even if you cleared the whole goddamned area.
    If you fired more than 2 shots in a row you have to relocate up to Eris' orbit to become invisible again.
    God forbid if you are detected. The whole goddamn Wehrmacht is upon you, spawning up from Pluto's arse right behind you. On top of that, Karl cannot sprint more than 20m without having some cardiac arrest.
    In THEIR hands, MP40 is some kind of pinpoint accuracy weapon, capable of hitting and killing you from kilometers away; in YOUR hands, THE SAME MP40 becomes some kind of a stupid peashooter with horrible accuracy and recoil, needing ~1 clip to kill some Italian or German grunt or more, if you want to kill an elite Fallschirmjäger. Because, you know, developers.
    Instead of being a kickass commando sniper, poor Karl is crippled by stupid cheap mechanics and miserable weapons implemented to artificially increasing the difficulty.
    Weird sound stuttering in some places.
    At least they had the decency to implement a hard save and quick save system for a poor excuse of so-called stealth game.
    I'll raise my mark +1 for decent graphics, runs decent at high settings even on old PCs.

    The IA is fine but kind of simple, defeating mechanical enemies becames the real challenge in this game due to its pretty limited (and small) critical points making you think about your strategy and I kinda liked it but I missed the sniper thing of the second release of the franchise. But there is something that this game misses and I cannot recommend it because of it, the sniper. This game focusses way too much in stealth and gathering data rather of having a real target to kill in each map, the need of an audio source to keep being quiet makes you struggle in a way that if you want to complete the game in stealth mode you will end using your basic pistol and nothing more. This will cause you to get bored as you will realise you can only complete the mission by pressing Y to stealth-melee-kill or close stealth kill with your pistol.    … Expand

    Sniper Elite 3 was my first entry into the series, and to be honest, it's a pretty fun game. The story is honestly in my opinion, the weakest part of the game, it was the same typical cliche popcorn flick storyline about some lone sniper fighting against the Nazis in the 1940s, it wasn't very interesting and barely any of the characters were memorable, though the voice acting was prettySniper Elite 3 was my first entry into the series, and to be honest, it's a pretty fun game. The story is honestly in my opinion, the weakest part of the game, it was the same typical cliche popcorn flick storyline about some lone sniper fighting against the Nazis in the 1940s, it wasn't very interesting and barely any of the characters were memorable, though the voice acting was pretty decent.

    But the story isn't the most important element of the game, it's the gameplay, and the gameplay is fun as hell, seeing you kill an enemy with a sniper bullet and seeing the enemy die in one of the absolutely brutal and 'ohohoho' deaths is undeniably satisfying and rewarding, the game has 8 huge open and explorable sandbox levels where you could easily spend hours in, the sniper gameplay along with the brutal death animations, is challenging, rewarding, and satisfying, and the stealth is well crafted, but the gunplay with the other weapons seem a bit clunky and awkward.

    The graphics are gorgeous, every level has an incredible amount of detail to them, from the vehicles to the buildings and the environments themselves, and the lighting is great, though the character models don't look as good in my opinion. I also think that the ai does leave room for improvement, they can be pretty good at times, but they aren't at others, plus I have encountered a couple of glitches in the game, but none too game breaking.

    If you love stealth games, and games that require you to be more tactical and slow, Sniper Elite 3 is the game for you, it's no Call of Duty, you can't just run into enemies all willy-nilly and go all rambo on them all the time. It's a challenging game that requires strategy, tactics, and patience, so if you are more into running and gunning, the game is not for you.

    The game is pretty long, I beat the game on normal at 17 hours, and I explored every level, but I only found all the Sniper Nests, I haven't done all the optional objectives, haven't found all the collectible cards and war diaries, and i haven't even maxed out Karl(the main protagonist of the game). So with it being a lengthy game, it also has a lot of replay value with replaying the campaign to complete what you haven't completed, maxing out the levels, and the challenge mode, and the multiplayer modes, so it's quite a bang for your buck.

    Again, if you prefer more slow, tactical shooters, then look no further than Sniper Elite 3.    … Expand

    Beautiful graphics, interesting plot, preserved mechanics of shooting, mini-stealth idea, and relatively open World on mission maps. However, I can’t say that I liked the game in everything. I can’t characterize exactly with words, but from some point there was a feeling that I want this game to end as faster as it possible.

    1 Bots, they are stupid at the same time and do not see very well well sclerosis passed on the elite sniper
    Where's the muffler? i know there are 1 rounds of ammunition and so on but these are ammunition that can hear noise and not completely

    SE3 Introduces new stuff like stealth / adapt & overcome gameplay mechanics, improved AI, and the exciting North African theatre of World War II that is not often explored in games. The cinematics and simple storyline do the job, getting you focused on your targets and build's tension as most missions take place during well-known battles, like the Siege of Tobruk and the Halfaya Pass. I would have preferred a protagonist with a deep character arc or more immersive lore, but I guess Rebellion uses the setting to give us an excuse to Snipe some Nazi Officers, and that's ok with me.

    The game has major technical problems, the improved AI works but is still broken and some points, the pacing drops, and the game becomes repetitive, and the graphics look good but dated somehow. Despite these problems, it is a game that I can replay over and over.    … Expand

    The game is uninteresting entirely. When it is played one thinks to the many other things that would be a better use of one's time.

    The game is nice so far except when i got to halfaya pass. The level design is awful, doesnt tell u where to go, and even if you try to figure it out you endup with 30 cqb enemies next to you. basically like 1 opportunity to sound-mask your shot in the whole level. Enemies EVERYWHERE. i spent 2 hours on the level trying to cqb random **** enemies that arent even closely related to the mainThe game is nice so far except when i got to halfaya pass.     I playe this after playing sniper elite 4, but i'm happy to say that most of the things i loved on SE4 already existed in this one, it's fun, at times very tense making it soo **** fun, the story is easy to follow and also engaging.

    Simply one of the best games in the Sniper Elite series, I love this game! it has gorgeous graphics, satisfying gameplay, and lots of gore! just its ragdoll physics which is bad anyway for me the Game is perfect!
    I love Karl fairbune. I'm a real fan of Sniper Elite

    BEFORE WE BEGIN: I will preface this by saying that I have already played all the other Sniper Elite in the saga, including Sniper Elite 5, and that I am evaluating Sniper Elite 3 For Xbox One and therefore have no idea what it is like on Xbox 360 and what changes. Also, the evaluation includes Dlc’s of the game and only partially of the Multiplayer,    WAS THIS GAME RELEASED IN 1942?

    BEFORE WE BEGIN:
    I will preface this by saying that I have already played all the other Sniper Elite in the saga, including Sniper Elite 5, and that I am evaluating Sniper Elite 3 For Xbox One and therefore have no idea what it is like on Xbox 360 and what changes. Also, the evaluation includes Dlc’s of the game and only partially of the Multiplayer, being already dead in 2022.

    THE OUTBREAK:
    The game presents itself from the start as a Sniper Elite set in Africa, with very short cutscenes and a very brief and coincidental tutorial. Essentially it presents itself as a version of Sniper Elite V2 with a different setting.

    TO THE SCOPE:
    Graphically, the game features warm and bright colors, too bright, so much so that the saturation makes lit surfaces blinding, distorting shadows and colors. The graphics and animations, for a 2014 game, are among the worst at the time; Let's remember that games like GTA 5, Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2 and The Last of Us were already out.

    TO THE EARS:
    The audio compartment of this game is truly pitiful, playing it with stereo headphones most of the game noises sound muffled and wrong; playing instead with surround headphones and the noises are completely off; every direction of the noises come from the opposite side of where they should be, and from completely wrong distances.

    ON BATTLEFIELD:
    The game has pretty much the mechanics found in its predecessor, with some unnecessary items such as the flynt. The level design obviously does not reach that of the successor, nor does the well-designed linearity of the predecessor. There are 8 missions (12 with dlc), and they last about 15 minutes each, so the game is very short, easily completed in 3 hours.
    The brand's usual co-op mode is present, plus there are the usual survival and multiplayer modes.

    ACHIEVEMENTS:
    The game is easily completed 100% in about fifteen hours and it has many easy achievements. The only flaw are the game's two online achievements.

    DLC’S:
    The game's dlc's are 4 additional missions, completed in less than half an hour, with very generic and forgettable missions, including the obvious target Fuhrer (among the worst in the saga in my opinion). The cost of the dlc’s is certainly not comparable to the time required for the completion.

    BUT WHY 4?

    CON:
    The game really has too many, too many negative points, and I would like not to limit myself to a mere list of **** but it will be very difficult not to. Starting with the story, which is explained by cutscenes with an average duration of 4 seconds, showing silent scenes of the protagonist doing some action, poorly animated to boot. The physics of corpses, which with whatever weapon you use, will depart for space, giving rise to bugs like T-pose, ragdolls and so on. The sound system is painful, as explained earlier. The malfunctioning of the coop-single player, which requires the player to start the story over if he completes it in only one of the two modes.The AI of enemies that leaves something to be desired. The bullet feeling that completely loses the one built in sniper elite 2 and at the same time does not reach that of 4. The graphics, already dated for 2014 and the particularly poorly maintained lighting system. The setting is almost sparse and poorly maintained, with stock backgrounds and few models in general. Finally, the missions always look the same, with generic objectives requiring the player to get from point a to point b, defend an area, and little more.

    PROS:
    The pros of this game are very few, the existence of co-op, which makes the whole game more fun, the music at the beginning of the game and the loading screens.

    A solid action game, focused on stealth, larger maps and picking enemies from a distance. The game has its weak spots but in overall, plays refreshingly. [Issue#244]
