    The perfect game to pic up everytime you want to get scared for a few minutes. I can´t give it a higher score than 7 as it is very short and not much in it.

    At the time it originally came out, Slender was an innovative, simplistic take on the horror genre. A free indie title that utilized one apparently banal feature, the constant feeling of being stalked by a relentless malevolent entity of unidentifiable properties, to instill a deep terror in its players. I, however, still remember the days when this idea was original and served an actual purpose. Out of this almost nostalgic feeling, I give the game an 8/10.
    If somehow you haven't come across any of the Slender games or their worse clones, I'd recommend you check out the original. But don't pour any money into the commercial version of this game. It's not worth it.    … Expand

    A horrible not at all scary. With this stupid slender man game is a tedious in-scary poorly made game that is some how a "scary game" the only pro to this game is it give off this creepy vide in the beginning minute that's it.

    People only hate this game for the character slender being overrated....seriously? Mario is overrated and he is in a lot of games but nobody cares? Strange...

    This game is designed to scare people. Then again, where's the plot? This game needs a story and it feels incomplete without a story. It's a new kind of scaring in generations. The jump scares are too repetitive. It's only designed to be horrifying and that's just it.

    This was the first slender game I had played, I must admit, the tension of the situation was really getting to me. I enjoyed the entire gameplay, even if I died! I will always love the slender games, they never get out of fashion for me.

    An overall effective game. The jump-scares have gotten me many times. But the more I played it the more I got used to it and the jump scares got less effective. 7/10 (good)

    This game is minimilist gaming at it's best. This is the premise: you look for pages in a forest with only a flashlight and are stalked by a teleportinf entity called the Slender Man. The more pagea you collect the more likely he is to appear. This game is best played in a dark room with max volume. Even seeing him from a far standing looking at you can bring total creepy moments, so the game provides both jump scares and psychological scares. Graphics are dump, but it really doesn't matter here, AT ALL. Easy to jump into and very easily replayable, but playing a lot in a short time can make you tired of it quick, but you'll eventually end up playing it again. A must get, AND IT'S FREE!!!… Expand

    A repetitive task, not very scary "Jump-scares" and Slenderman himself isn't scary...
    No... Just NO!!! so no i don't like this game as I said it isn't fun!

    Slender isn't the best game out there. It has less than stellar graphics, a repetitive score and very simplistic gameplay. Add Mr Slenderman to that mix and you have one of the most tense atmosphere's ever created.

    Slender is an indie horror game for the PC in which you are a person trying to collect 8 pages while Slender Man chases you throughout the forest.
    Graphics: 6/10 (textures can sometimes be murky)
    Mechanics: 9/10 (the mechanics are very good considering he will teleport when you are not looking at him)
    Fun Factor: 9/10 (very creeoy atmosphere and really fun to play)
    Rating: 8/10 (Great)

    In my opinion, not scary... You just walk around, look for notes, see slenderman in this distance, run... You probably dont want to play at night or at all if your scared (i play at night though...) tbh not scary and can get boring

    Why people love this game so much I shall never know. It isn't scary at all (y'know, the ONE DAMN THING you ask from a horror game), the gameplay is so slow paced I would rather watch snails race speedwise, but the gameplay is decent and somewhat tricky and I was obsessed with this at one short period in time, and due to those things, Slender: The Eight Pages rates a 4/10.

    A brilliantly atmospheric horror game that will make you curl your toes and scream, a game that nestles paranoia into your brain and Slender, simple yet simplistic, will frighten even the most seasoned horror game fan.

    Here's what this game REALLY has to offer:
    -Bad graphics.
    -Boring gameplay.
    -Repetitive environment.
    -Bad mapping.
    -Cheesy Slenderman model.
    -Not scary at all.
    Go download and play Slender's Wood's. Much better game.

    "Slender" is scary for the first time. Don't get me wrong. If you play it yourself at night with headphones on, it really will freak you out. "Slender" is not for the faint of heart.

It is like Blair Witch but with a tall creepy, not to forget, FACELESS man is after you called Slender, when you collect the first page, a soundtrack starts increasingly bugging you, your adrenaline raises page by page, and whenSlender is a terrifying video game, although it doesn't contain much of impressive graphics or any top details, the atmosphere itself, so real, it will scare you.     If this is the future of survival horror, I think I'd sooner play Resident Evil 6. Oh no, it's a banker with no face! Run for the hills! Snore. Game isn't even scary. Only worthy for people who unironically watch PewDiePie. Not even if it's free.

    Very good atomsphere and it is scary and creepy though the jump scares wear on you fast the tension and terror of Slenderman will keep you playing and its free but it does show its indie roots with the low budget production values and graphics but just because say System Shock 2 looks dated dosen't mean its bad

    Slender is no doubt a chilling game, and can get your heart racing in a knot. The game can get you into jumps. If your heart cant take jump-scares, don't play it.

Play it a second time and... no cigar, slenderman (in itself a very good concept) becomes oh too familiar, even the jump scares become somewhat boring. The figure itself isn't actually scary either- seriously look at him (or her)... Compared to other horror games, it    Overrated, overrated and overrated.

    The game will surely scare you, but the game is repitetive. Not very interesting due to the lack of a storyline. The game get's boring later on. I didn't even want to replay this game.

    This game should be the Number 1 scariest game of 2012. People who aren't scared easily would say this game is crap, but i disagree. This game, when in a dark room with headphones on, when you encounter slender, it will scare the crap out of you, make you both sh*t your pants and piss your pants, and make you leave your lights on at night, sleep with someone, and never leave your house aThis game should be the Number 1 scariest game of 2012. The game objective might be boring (Just going around the darkness and find 8 pages), you know this game is perfect in scariness (where, again, it will sh*t your pants). To even make it more scary, the game sets you in a dark forest, filled with a tunnel, abandoned cars, and abandoned buildings. To top it all up, you may not know this, but your flashlight has importance to (besides the help you see). In the game, having you flashlight on will make it harder for slender to find you (for some odd reason), but when you do have it on, when staring a slender, you die quicker. With the flashlight off, slender finds you quicker (again, of some odd reason), but because you can't really see it, when staring, you die slower (if you want a even scarier game play off of this already pants sh*t game, play it with the flashlight off.) Also, even if you like the flashlight on, you have to keep it off once in a while, because the batteries (yes, there are batteries for the flashlights) will run out! Plus, there is and hidden stamina bar. you can jog with the run, and you can run like hell if you see slender (jogging is slower, but the stamina will replenish. Running is faster, but to run, you need to see Slender, and the stamina you use running is gone forever.) Sorry that this review is long, but this is really is a great game, and it should be against the law if you don't at least try it. So buy it right NOW!… Expand

The problems I have with this game is that it is repetitive. I usually get to about 4-5 pages and I am caught. The slender mechanics definitely need fixed or the game will continue to be the same thing over and over again. Slender is a myth, a tale that no one could ever imagine to hear before. The game is scary, I will say that. I don't recommend the game to people who get scared easily and/or will faint from a small "jump scare". It is a simplistic game, and it is also the equation of a predominate factor of "will I get caught or will I stay alive". In both cases, it doesn't matter. You will see slender at least twice throughout the entire game. I wish there would be more of an objective to the game though, it would make it more fun. Also, they should seriously consider a "slender multiplayer mode", that would add a lot more fun to the game. In this case, I am going to recommend it, but not highly.… Expand

The entire game revolves around you trying to pick up 8 pages that are scattered around the park. These pages are usually located at "landmarks" in the forest.     The game for the first few times is infact scary, but after multiple play throughs the game becomes predictable and more of a race then a horror game. The game relies heavily on jump scares, which is fun the first few times, but then gets more annoying then scary.     Also with the most recent update the game has gotten extremely laggy for certain computers even when toning down the detail of everything. This was tested on 6 different computers, so its not just my laptop. The game has also taken the fun of the slenderman and destroyed it in two, most people don't know what the slendermans real origins are except he was in a scary game. This is more of a personal thing, but hey, its my review.

    Im sorry about being such a downer, but there are many other horror games out there that do better then slender. SCP Containment Breach, Ib, Ao Oni, Witches House, Witch, and Yumi Nikki to name a few. I'd recommend you get the game if youre into indie horror games, but it will get boring after a while.

    Slender fills you with relentless fear with it's creepy atmosphere and setting. However, the game lacks replay value as the horror elements quickly become less haunting and the actual gameplay is rather boring.

    The day I learned about the Slenderman Mythos, I was interested. The day I learned the origins of that mythos, I was amused. The day I discovered the various video series and blogs that have been made with Slenderman in them, I was creeped out and scared by alot of the impressive work people had done. So when I learned about a Slenderman game, I was interested.

    As novel and interesting the concept is, it unfortunately, didn't quite meet my standards for what is an obvious horror game. Yes, Slenderman is there.. following you... waiting for you to let your guard down so he can get you. But the game just doesn't feel as... threatening as I think it should be. I mean, you've got the Slenderman, a guy that is arguably, nine to ten feet tall, with a twig like body, pale skin, no face, and supposedly strong enough to rip you to pieces with his bare hands, stalking you, yet it feels more like your playing a game of tag to me, then running from some kind of Elderitch terror that wants you for dinner as the main course.

    I do like the concept, it's very much like how many of the Slender stories out there go, but the game just feels like it's lacking something. What that something is, I'm not sure. All in all, it's worth at least looking at for anyone that hasn't played the game, since it's basically freeware. Not like you'd be wasting your money playing this game, and at the worse, you'd only waste five minutes that you probably would have spent doing something less meaningful then this anyway. =p    … Expand
