Apr 29, 2025Clocking in at around five–six hours, Slender Threads is a great example of a point-and-click adventure that simply tells its story and does not overstay its welcome. I wish more developers understood that not every story needs to drag on because it has to hit a longer runtime. In saying that, any story still needs to be entertaining, and Slender Threads’ finale may not be the conclusion that everyone is hoping for, but I enjoyed it. Regardless, Slender Threads is a great fusion of modern and classic point-and-click design that should be played by all fans of the genre.

Feb 28, 2025Enhanced by expressively stylized graphics, unusual and intricate challenges, and professional voice-overs, Slender Threads tells a scary tale spiced with well-tempered humor.

Feb 27, 2025Although Harvey's adventure is intriguing at first, it cannot be said that the way the game's finale ties everything together is particularly impressive. Still, it is one of those games you won't regret playing.

Feb 24, 2025We really liked Slender Threads. It's a title that draws inspiration from the classics to tell a paranormal story with a lot of humor, and although the ending left us a little cold, we loved everything else. It's entertaining from start to finish, with personality and fun, and there's little more we can ask for from a game like this. If you like the genre and miss the old-fashioned graphic adventures, we think this is a very good option.

Feb 24, 2025Slender Threads is a superb graphic adventure, with an original and very attractive visual presentation, and which offers an intriguing plot that mixes humor with terror that captivates the player. It is somewhat short, but it is a candidate for the best graphic adventure of the year.

Feb 20, 2025Slender Threads does a fantastic job of mixing gameplay with an immersive setting. You go around town solving puzzles with a good hint system in case you get lost. The game's story does stumble towards the end and there's little replay value. This game's psychological horror isn't scary either. But if you want a good point-and-click game that sucks you in while it lasts, this is the game to get.

Feb 11, 2025The result is a game that’s silly and macabre, and wants you to wonder why. It’s perhaps ironic that something that’s so smartly a piece of Brechtian estrangement also falls foul of some of the genre’s most typical issues–flaky player direction, predictable puzzles–but in some peculiar way these (undeliberate) shortcomings lean in to the meta-commentary in their own way. Oh, and be sure to stick around through the credits, because there’s a whole bunch more game to come after.

Feb 9, 2025An adventure with a quite interesting main idea, but without the ideal implementation, so that it stands out.

Feb 7, 2025The nightmarish journey in Slender Threads isn’t for the faint of heart, but those with a morbid sense of humor will love the fun of unraveling the delightfully quirky goings-on in the strange town of Villa Ventana.

Feb 5, 2025Slender Threads is an easily digestible adventure narrative, featuring great voice acting and a dramatic, spooky story. The sinister dream motivating Harvey’s actions adds some good tension to the unsettling town of Villa Ventana, but the big reveal at the end fails to impress. Seasoned veterans of adventure games may miss the lack of creative, out-of-the-box thinking, though the game’s simple puzzles will probably work for a casual playthrough, or for genre beginners.
