Silicon Zeroes is a fantastic addition to a burgeoning genre of indie games that teach you the basics of computer engineering. Similar to howSilicon Zeroes is a fantastic addition to a burgeoning genre of indie games that teach you the basics of computer engineering. Similar to how Human Resource Machine taught the player the basics of assembly programming, Silicon Zeroes teaches very early electronics and CPU design.

As a programmer, it's really exciting to play this game. Many times I've wondered what it would have been like to be an engineer in early Silicon Valley. Not only does this game provide a glimpse into the types of technical challenges I would have encountered, but it also provides a surprisingly deep story based on some of the real personalities of the time.

The challenge level really ramps up midway through the 2nd episode, but it's worth sticking through it. Not only do you feel like a genius when you complete a challenge, you get to further the story.

Highly recommended to anyone that's a fan of puzzles or engineering.
