ShawnP.Jan 10, 2006This game came out in 1997 and is like 8-bit graphics. Turn based I played it on a network I threw together as I worked and studied at Manassas as a Ranger. It is too old to be with these other games.... Waiting to play Bull Run.

Jan 10, 2023Love to play with the good guys. Those who lost only because the north exploited the thousands of poor irishman that came hoping for a better life and were sent to die in a war they didnt even understand like the cannon fodder the south could not offer. The real winners were oprah and her woke psycho likes. The looser was the true american culture.

Putting aside concerns about the campaign structure, Gettysburg! may be the best recreation of Civil War combat (or even just combat) of any game yet released. Sure, some of the hardcore data is missing, and Firaxis chose to eliminate supply issues, but it's amazing how realistic this game feels much of the time.

A truly unique and innovative game which breathes new life into the wargaming and real-time genres and provides one of the best multi-player experiences ever devised in computer gaming. What's more, it is enormously fun and challenging to play.

This game is about as solid as the Union line on Cemetery Ridge. It has all the right ingredients to please Civil War buffs, hard-core strategy fans, and maybe even some casual gamers adventurous enough to try something new.
