    First and foremost, this is a fun game! It's got all the best and worst features of the very best games in turn base strategy genre. By this I mean that, in most cases, you need a good strategy instead of brute force to win the mission but that, alas and once more, it is based on how the AI was programmed rather than on good solid logic. For example, you can't see an enemy plane in a cloud but it can see you and will always manage to stay in longer than you ever could and will always come out in a position to do you harm. Well... I'm sorry but although it is true that a plane in a cloud can't be seen it is also true that that plane pilot can't see either. One could say that this was done because the player can always see the AI's planes outside of clouds even if his plane is in the cloud. It would be true safe from the fact that the AI's planes always move as if it still sees it's opponent plane inside the cloud. That's where, for me, it lost a point. As for the other minus, it's related to the repetitious nature of the missions and thus the lack of re-playability value safe for the fact that there are four different countries to try, each with a different initial bonus. This does not however detracts from the originality and addictiveness of this game. If, like me, you're a fan of turn base games then, by all means, get this one.… Expand

    Was disappointed with this latest edition from sid meier. Not what you have come to expect from Sid Meirer, while good for specific Genre, it is less than the quality many Meirer fans have come to expect.

    Como mecánica y juego es interesante, pero la vagancia de no crear más misiones revientan la experiencia. Una lástima porque podría ser un buen juego.

    Sid Meier's Ace Patrol is a fun WWI aerial combat strategy game and probably a ground-breaking game for the mobile market, but at only 2 hours for a campaign this is definitely no Civilization. The game unfortunately lacks any longevity that other games with the Sid Meier moniker are renown for. If you're a Sid Meier fan though and see this on sale, it might be worth a look.

    This really is an original little strategy gem and well worth the money of any gamer looking for something a bit different. It would have easily scored a 10 if it weren't for the fact that a couple of very minor bugs can occasionally break the game (such as having to select an upgrade all your pilots already have after taking the 'copycat' perk).     It's a good game prototype or concept, and even if it's not the case, that's how it looks like and how i feel playing it. However, i can recommend this game because even that way you can enjoy it a lot like me, and the asked price is very low, mostly if compared to other games from the same developer and/or publisher.

    You start choosing the German or one of the three allied nations from WWI: British, French or American - each one with an specific perk and different planes to fly. Then you choose from a variety of missions to run - like Ace vs Ace, escort, bombardment and defense missions, to cite some - leveling your pilots and granting upgrades and new maneuver trees to use with them in the turn-based hex field.

    Ace Patrol have a lot of resources, but they are just concepts of a potentially deep bad-♥♥♥ strategy game. At the actual stage you must face it more like a casual than a strategy game, and may experience some frustration at realizing that not a polished, not even finished game as it is.

    You can finish a campaign on easy difficult in about 2 hours, but the achievements are really exciting to pursue, and the gameplay although simple and glitched is very engaging and funny.    … Expand

    Ace Patrol is a fairly fun casual game that has some [very loose] RPG elements such as leveling up your pilots, upgrading planes and abilities, etc. I've played a total of 4-5 hours now and while fun, find that the replayability is somewhat poor as it appears that the campaigns repeat no matter which nation you choose. I have played through as the British and Americans now and theAce Patrol is a fairly fun casual game that has some [very loose] RPG elements such as leveling up your pilots, upgrading planes and abilities, etc. I've played a total of 4-5 hours now and while fun, find that the replayability is somewhat poor as it appears that the campaigns repeat no matter which nation you choose. I have played through as the British and Americans now and the campaigns were exactly the same. Would be nice if there were more varied types of missions. Otherwise the graphics are decent, UI is easy to use, and is a buy rating from me.… Expand

    El juego es sencillo, tenemos 4 pilotos que van mejorando según vayamos completando misiones a lo largo de los dos últimos años de guerra en diferentes bandos a elegir. Conseguirán habilidades, mejores aviones y tendremos que jugar con lo que tenemos en cada momento (en algunas ocasiones nosotros tendremos mejores herramientas que el rival y en otras no).

    Dicho esto, el control es sencillo y simple, aunque se vuelve un poco más completo cuando vamos consiguiendo distintas maniobras, que nos darán la capacidad de colocarnos a la cola enemiga, escapar de lugares peligrosos o posicionar mejor nuestro avión. Además de tener que jugar con la altura, punto muy importante en este tipo de guerra.

    No hay mucho más que decir, no es un juego que te vaya a dar muchísimas horas, pero si te gusta el concepto y lo encuentras barato, probablemente te de unas horas de diversión con una primera pasada a la campaña.    … Expand

    At first, all the mechanics work. The game principle is catching, and it's romantic to fly with the warplanes of the First World War. Nevertheless, the PC game port looks epicene and inappropriate. Its biggest mistakes like repeating of the situations, imbalanced missions, and too much focus on maximize of your score follow its mobile origin. A turn-based strategy game by Sid Meier must be entertaining at any moment. Ace Patrol fails to satisfy this.
