    This FPS is an overlooked, must-play gem.
    It mixes the melee-gunplay of Doom with the upgrade spiral of Diablo, in gorgeous looking, well-optimised environments. Even for 2023 standards.

    A crazy RIOT of a game and a terrific experience all around. Devolver Digital really lived up to its name with this incredible FPS semi-open world mobkill shooter-slasher. As someone who is tired of generic shooters like Halo, this one really delivers in being simply fun and insane. You run around, dash like madman all the time and slash and shoot demons/people/robots. As someone who is tired of generic shooters like Halo, this one really delivers in being simply fun and insane. You run around, dash like madman all the time and slash and shoot demons/people/robots. Lo Wang is a humorous racist and is a very welcome and likeable protagonist. The characters are campy and the dialogue is faux-wisdom and cliche-ridden but to a funny level- what else can you expect? It's almost like a Serious Sam but with better graphics and MELEE combat with katanas, energy blades and chainsaws. The controls are very smooth and fluid and you have minimum cooldown dash, which quickly becomes your mode of transport--- great idea. Gunplay is fast and solid and my only gripe is the atrocious inventory system and the gameplay is easy, even at the highest difficulty level. It's addictive and very fun and relaxing to play after a long day at work. Play this game and hours will pass without you noticing! The guns and melee weapons selection is substantial but not too plentiful. Also, they should have added a free roam. The assault rifles and SMGs are also too weak and should have been given a boost. The graphics are very good and the FPS is well-optimized for PC gameplay. I like how refreshing this game is and it is a worthy successor to the series. I got this on GOG sale at a huge discount and it has to be one of my best purchases ever. If you are looking for a fun and wild RIOT shooter/slasher and just want to play and make things go boom and splat without much thinking about the story or details, grab this for an explosive experience!… Expand

    An entertaining and high-speed shooter marred by some rather egregious and unnecessary looter elements. These elements drag the game down to a crawl at times, limit the utility of an expansive weapon list, and turn most of the late game into a a slog.     I enjoyed the 2013 reboot, this one is trying to be something it isn't. I wanted shadow warrior, not Borderlands and I hate Borderlands. Every enemy seems to be a bullet sponge, you have to dedicate far too much time to upgrading your skills and figuring out the weaknesses of enemies when personally I just wanted a fast-paced shooter with fun mechanics.

    The graphics are pretty good if    I enjoyed the 2013 reboot, this one is trying to be something it isn't. I wanted shadow warrior, not Borderlands and I hate Borderlands. Every enemy seems to be a bullet sponge, you have to dedicate far too much time to upgrading your skills and figuring out the weaknesses of enemies when personally I just wanted a fast-paced shooter with fun mechanics.

    The graphics are pretty good if you can overlook the human character models, the level design is boring and poorly paced with constant enemy spam which would be less of an issue if they weren't bullet sponges.

    At the end of the day, I'm only sorry that I shelved this game for a long time before playing it and now it's too late to return it.    … Expand

    I liked the fast paced gameplay and the dirty humour in this game. Dont expect a very deep story but it will surely entertain you until end.

    Beautiful levels and environments await you in Shadow Warrior 2. You travel through the levels several times during the game - sometimes with different weather or seasons. I liked these changes. The environment is destructible to a large degree.

    The humor sometimes degrades the game into ridiculous irrelevance. It's funny, but it also takes away any basis for a believable or serious story.
    When you die it's not a big drama. Just continue from the last checkpoint. I think that's good.
    I found the side missions fun, the headhunt missions (on the board) are unfortunately farm-heavy.
    It has cool enemies.

    In Shadow Warrior 2 erwarten dich schöne Levels und Umgebungen. Die Levels bereist man im Verlaufe des Spiels mehrmals - teilweise mit anderem Wetter oder Jahreszeit. Das fand ich eine gute Abwechslung. Die Umwelt ist zu einem grossen Grad zerstörbar.
    Man beginnt mit einem Schwert, einer Pistole und einer Maschinenpistole. Das Waffenarsenal wird aber schon in der ersten Spielstunde stark aufgestockt und es kommen immer wieder neue Waffen dazu. Diese kann man alle mit Upgrades versehen, um so noch actionreichere Kämpfe zu haben.
    Der Humor degradiert das Spiel machmal in eine lächerliche Belanglosigkeit. Er ist zwar lustig, aber nimmt auch jegliche Grundlage für eine glaubhafte oder ernsthafte Story.
    Wenn man stirbt ist es kein grosses Drama. Einfach vom letzten Checkpoint aus weitermachen. Das finde ich gut.
    Die Nebenmissionen fand ich spassig, die Headhunt-Aufträge (am Board) sind leider farmlastig.

    Very good continuation of Shadow Warrior 2013. Nice RPG elements, nice fight rhythm. A bit too easy IMO :)

    Way better than I expected it to be! It did get a bit repetitive, but it had just enough depth and a lot of well written dialogue.

    Lo Wang is a hired mercenary kind of guy who is contracted to rescue a damsel, only to screw it up and wind up with her stuck in his head. From there-the story takes some turns and I had no idea what was going on for the last quarter of the game. Maybe it would be more clear if I had played the first entry in the series.

    The dialogue was very well written, though, even when the story lost me. There are quite a few funny lines and Lo Wang is basically a shogun version of Deadpool, which worked well. Some of the jokes were a little eye-rolling or childish, but it had more hits than misses!

    The combat is excellent, with tons of different melee weapons and guns. I found that you could salad-shred your way through most problems with just a sword, but it was nice to have the option for a cool gun as well. I do think that the amount of skills and upgrades might have been a bit much. It's not really the type of game that warrants stopping and figuring out what medallion has the best bonus. But that doesn't really detract much and by the end I didn't put much time into it.

    The only major downside is that it is repetitive. You will revisit the same levels over and over and fight the same enemies or slightly different variations. It gets a bit boring even though the game is short. By the end I was running through the levels instead of stopping for each fight.

    I would still recommend the game over all and it was an excellent Game Pass game. You'll finish it quickly and might not play it again, but it is definitely a good way to spend 8hrs or so!    … Expand

    Meanwhile, the story does not lend itself too seriously, but it fits the game's over-the-top and comical theme. Unfortunately this does not integrate well with the game's    5 years later and Shadow Warrior 2 still plays reasonably well. The game is packed with decent content including numerous weapons, customization/upgrades, side-quests; all contributing to a great replayability factor.

    Meanwhile, the story does not lend itself too seriously, but it fits the game's over-the-top and comical theme. Unfortunately this does not integrate well with the game's art direction, as I found it too dark and grim, contrasting with the game's overall vibe.

    Aside from that, the game's level design does leave a lot to be desired, as it is just pointless running within a sandbox killing everything in the way. Granted, the game is primarily all about its high-octane combat, but it would've been nice if a bit more creativity has been exercised in this regard.    … Expand

    It is funny, pretty well placed and streamlined to be enjoyed by anyone. A bit too modernized for my taste but it would be hard to say what they could have done better. Surprisingly enjoyable.

    Mindless combat with little room for skill. Tedious inventory management, after every mission you have to sift through hundreds of items. Fun for the first hour

Shadow Warrior 2 story, becomes broken up and disjointed due to the addition of a game world hub. Where main/side missions can be selected and stuff can be brought/sold mmo/rpg style.

    The story and the new or old characters I just didn't give a crap about. The graphics look washed out and not that sharp. With an over abundance of whats looks like a bloom effect gone wrong. The music created a good sense of ambiance and the mood of this game is fairly tongue in cheek. As in playing the cheeky a-hole that is Wang Lo.

    Technically this game is a big fat zero out of ten, because of a non-progression bug that killed my game off just under 15 hours with a 41% completion rate. So like wow I can't even finish my game, meh. Seriously only one dumb auto save really? The first reboot game had manual saves and multiple autosaves. Had to restart the game and did finally finish it. So as for the 59% I missed? Well I didn't miss out much.    … Expand

    Great game for DOOM/Wolfenstein fans. I had plenty of fun, the game offers a huge adrenaline and fast paced shooting/sword fighting. The landscape is amazing: from cyberpunk scenarios to hell! A worth choice to have plenty of fun and have some laugh.

    A decent fast paced FPS game. Melee battles are kinda chaotic, guns are an option but are weaker than melee weapons in this game so you're kinda stuck with melee most of the time. The storyline is okay.... the lines are kinda corny but that's the charm of the character so I'm okay with it. Overall a very okay game.

    Shadow Warrior 2 is amazing. The shift from linear to semi-open-world shooter hasn't hurt the game since the action remains constant and adheres to the classic shooter style over the more modern one. The multitude of new weapons gives the game some variety, even when taking artifacts into account, and the solid combat ties everything together into a very enjoyable package, whether you're going solo or cooperatively. It ranks up there with Doom as one of the best pure shooters of the year and one of the best timed exclusives on the PC in this genre.
