Great game once you found out how to configure the game controller and the cheat code.

The game is extremely realistic, and incorporates the finest in offroad vehicles...Unlike your typical offroad games, this one actually brings realistic situations into play, and isn't all about speed. Ignorant people may see this as boring, but to all of us hard-core wheelers, its a great escape while our real 4x4s are in the shop!

Good game, different to all other racing games, but there is not enough water, or mud, or exciting things like that, i wish someone develop the screamer 4x4 2, and include more action to the game, and more recent vehicles.....Good game...

  1. The game plays very well, I love the concept, the options are extensive, set up consoles are easy to use, the actual driving is quite realistic, the vehicle graphics are well above the average, and the replay value is very high.
  2. For those who like the unique challenge of timed racing and the strategies that off-road rallies require, Screamer 4X4 is a must have.

Call me a mullet-wearing redneck, but I prefer my off-road action a little more exciting. [May 2002, p.77]
