    If the idea of a game that lets you poke around and learn everything on your own, you’ll have some fun with Save Koch‘s wacky, hectic world. There’s a lot to like if you have the patience to figure it out. But if you prefer your sim games with clear instructions, then you’d better pass on this one.

    Save Koch boasts quality of writing and depth of event inter-connectivity, that far exceed its humble budget. On the other hand, it drops players in media res with very little explanation of its world, characters or dependencies, heavily relying on a player's willingness to experiment for hours on end. Depending on your particular tastes, this can be either a diamond in the rough or a bitter case of "almost".

    A tough game to review. First of all, I love the core of this game. A lot. The wacky, dark anthropomorphic sci-fi universe they have createdA tough game to review. First of all, I love the core of this game. A lot. The wacky, dark anthropomorphic sci-fi universe they have created is fantastic. There needs to be spin-offs and graphic novels, and plethoras of other mediums because it's that awesome and has that much potential. I liked each and every character. There is much depth to be had, not to mention the badass aesthetics and overall tone of the game. The dialogue is well written. I found myself wanting to uncover each and every stone as doing so is indeed rewarding.

    However... There is also much to be frustrated about. It's difficult to actually recommend this game to people. For what I can forgive, I cannot see others doing so very easily. Even a proficient reader will have trouble keeping up with bombardments of information which takes up the game. It's the same kind fo game as This is the Police, and managing time and info is at the forefront, so it's the designers choice. It's also not very player-friendly, You will be sabotaged every step of the way, primarily by having no rhyme or reason as to shy you just failed and your associate is dead. It's frustrating as hell, and beyond repetitive. You have to re-read the same lines of dialogue every play through. There is no fast forward, no pause. In fact, I had to trick the game by playing in window mode just so I could switch to the finder to pause and really read and think about what I wanted to do. Before I did this, I inevitably clicked on tasks without really even knowing what I was doing. This is an idiotic intention which swaps playability with tension. I cannot stress how much not being able to read and think about what you're doing ruins this game. Lastly, there is basically no backstory or intro or anything whatsoever. In fact, they often talk about the critical events which happened 2 years ago.Even after delving relatively deep into this game, I'm still left with so many contextual questions. And It's an awesome story, so I want to know!

    Anyway, what the game does do well does so exceedingly, and despite the flaws I loved it. It's a niche game. If you find yourself drawn to things like this, and are patient, then you will likely not be disappointed.    … Full Review »

    Из плюсов:
    Ситуация, происходящая в большом городе, требует постоянного анализа, синтеза, сравнения и далее всего того, чем должен заниматься мозг, когда перед ним стоит сложная задача. Поэтому игровой процесс требует полного внимания к происходящему. Увлекаясь процессом, я не заметил, как пролетело реальное время.
    Сам подход к игровому процессу мне показался весьма необычным, что и привлекло изначально внимание в рекламе.
    Игра сделана красиво. Приятно смотреть и слушать.
    За свои деньги огонь!
    Из минусов:
    Не люблю проигрывать и реально переживаю, смогу ли я разгадать эту шараду в следующий раз))    … Full Review »
