    Audio Bugs galore.

    Physics tied to the framerate.

Cutscenes capped at a jarring 23 fps.

    Game capped at ~65 fps.

It's 2021, this is unacceptable for a remaster.

Saints Row: Tae Third Remastered is a good thing, but here's a tip. If you want to play it, then go to the original. Once again, you should go play the original, but if you are a graphics fan, you are welcome.

Superb remaster, same fluid gameplay of original with really nice work on updated character models and lighting. Same great game just looks way better.

Kayne West - Power...…Honestly this moment alone in the game is one of my favorite moments of gaming history and because of that alone, I can recommend this game.

Everything I love from the original game is back and only one thing pisses me off...
    There is no day-night cycle....
The game is mostly set at night and there is no chance to play in free roam without everything being dark...
Reminds me of NFS 2015, which was dark and night only and had great graphics....

The fps problem is too much. And the graphics are very bad. I don't like the gameplay.

I love the original SR3 and have replayed it several times. This version looks pretty at first glance, but it has more glitches than the original, not less. There are missing sounds (minigun sounds so so wrong I can't use it), broken windows you suddenly can't jump through, enemies that glitch out or warp into weird shapes, lots of little things that never ever happened on the original cut. Also, some of the post processing effects, like DOF and Motion Blur are too strong and make it difficult to AIM at things without your screen turning into a smudgy mess. Especially the Depth of field. Aim at a bad guy and half the time the focus in on you, so your target is a blur. I just turned those effects off, but still - shouldn't have to do so.
It's like a beautiful old friend going under the knife for a face-lift, and coming out younger looking, but their face is paralyzed and they occasionally pee themselves.
    It's kinda sad.

The original game back in the days was everything I hoped GTA 4 would be. It really hit the spot, especially when it came to customization. It really hit the spot, especially when it came to customization. But more than that Saints Row 3 knew what it wanted to be. It's like one of those dogs that wants to play with you no matter what. They'll bring you whatever they can get their paws on, they will run around you in circles and bark much too loud and if you don't pay attention you'll get slobbered and dirty, until they are just lying there, panting, grinning at you, daring you to go another round. GTA has devolved into a cat that is just smashing stuff and is spending most of the day licking itself.

Don't get me wrong, Saints Row 3 has comic relieve characters, needless, over-the-top violence and all the PG13-nudity you desire, just like GTA. It just didn't think it was special because of it. It didn't pretend that it was doing heavy social commentary and didn't bore me with relationship drama only to sacrifice the same NPCs two minutes later for the feelz. It was well aware that it's script wasn't Oscar-worthy, and I guess that's why the developers weren't tempted to bore me with overly long cutscenes full of tropes and edgy dialogue.

That's why I'm a little sad to report that, even if you loved SR3 back in the day, this will not impress you. As a matter of fact I think the remastered content often sticks out and causes inconsistencies, and therefore does more more damage than good. While SR3 was never a technical marvel, I really liked it's art style. And if I still needed proof that more polygons and higher resolutions are not the secret ingredient for better gaming, I could close my case now.

If you already own the original I can't really recommend this. But even if you haven't played SR3 I'd probably advise you to buy the old version. It aged pretty well, and I wasn't too euphoric with the performance of the remastered version on top of that. But it's still that dog I described, and the only reason why I had less fun was probably because I replayed the original way too often.

Extremely buggy and the original had a more consistent look. This remaster improves half the game and ruins the other half. Worse looking textures, colors, and oh my god the bugs. No car sound, sirens not turning off, headlights not casting light in the dark, performance differences of 8000% between camera angles, it's crazy

My first thought on the game was, "Is this a parody of GTA?". Its a fun, messy and wacky but a beautiful remaster of the original. The characters are polished and look amazing. This is literally a reshade with ai upscaled textures sold as a 40 dollar "next gen" product. To make everything worse, the character's lip dosen't sync with the audio! They also **** up their models.

While yes…there are still some performance problems, Saints Row the Third Remastered is a helluva fun game, especially with friends. The story missions will have you rolling with laughter, and there’s no setback if you find yourself in the middle of a shootout between all three gangs and the Steelport police. It’s just all good fun. And with all the craziness going on in the world, it’s nice to have a game to lose yourself in that makes you not take yourself quite as seriously and reminds you to be thankful for the time you have and tackle life one day at a time.

Overall there isn’t much more to say about Saints Row: The Third Remastered because, all in all, it’s the same game I loved back in 2011. Underneath a fairly fresh coat of paint is the same adrenaline pumping, juvenile story of a gang-turned-media-sensation trying to rebuild itself. In that regard, assessed purely in a vacuum, this game is a smash hit. In context, though, I can’t help but feel this release is a bit premature. With the original Saints Row: The Third still being recent enough that it looks alright and plays well, I can’t shake the feeling that letting it nap for another few years may have resulted in a more impressive remaster.

Speaking from my heart, I maintain that this is, in a number of ways, a compromised version of Saints Row: The Third that the new coat of paint doesn’t really make up for. However, if you were fortunate enough to play the game back when it first came out, especially when it was working fully, this is a very pretty way to look back at it.
