It is prettyRunner RTX feels like a game made by a youtuber, in the means that he got it as a challenge to make a game as fast as possible.
It is pretty unoriginal and boring but i has some good things going for it, but rather few of them.
GRAPHICS:
7/10
The game looks pretty good in that aspect, the reflections are OK and the animations too, but the environment detail is actualy decent.
OPTIMISATION:
8.5/10
The game actualy runs super well, that s not so surprising though. But still, a beautiful 140+ FPS is really appreciated (my setup: gtx 1650 ti, i5 10th gen and 16 gb ram).
SOUNDTRACK:
6/10
The music is pretty generic and uninspired. It mostly tries to give some badass vibes and barely does it.
It s not horrendous though, just not good.
GAMEPLAY:
7/10
The game kinda lacks in gameplay. It's mostly a Subway surfers copy in which you aren't followed by someone. Still, there's something that i can consider a + and a - with how this style of game is executed: you aren't stuck to a grid.
This way you have more freedom and it's actualy fun trying to do some tricks like this when you get more experienced with the game. The bad part with this is that you can easily mess up or miss the path you need to take, but it's not game-breaking.
All else i can say about the gameplay is that it is actualy pretty ... chill to play? It's very easy, having only wasd and space, you can play with one hand.
OTHER:
One complaint: no menu.
When openng the game, on the title screen you have 2 buttons: "play" and "exit". That s it.
No graphics settings, not controls, no nothing.
It s pretty sad and hillarious to see it as so, but since this game isn't to be taken serious, it doesn't bother me that much.
Also, when you press "esc" during gameplay, instead of a pause menu, you quit to the main menu, so if you're in, you're in.
PRICING:
2/10
Ok, this is also a pretty bad point for the game. It is 20 dollars (on steam). For a runner with everything a described above. Yea.
The pricing is very bad for what it is, but it;s pretty easy to get it cheap on other sites from resellers. That's what i did and guess what? I got it for 1 dollar.
VERDICT:
The game is pretty simple and barebones. With the simple controls and smooth and quick gameplay, it is good to play when you have a few free minutes, but only that. It can be fun, but you need to know how to make it fun. Also, the price doesn't do it justice at all. New free content might make this game actualy good though, along with a price drop.…Full Review »
