Iron Galaxy has not only put forward one of the best games of 2022 so far, it's also created one of the best battle royales in a long time. It manages to be wildly different from its contemporaries while also being a game worth learning and mastering in its own right.

Rumbleverse might be a ridiculous, cartoony dust-storm of wrestling action, but it's shockingly fun and extremely balanced. A few hit detection issues aside, the free-to-play game is one of the most addicting and accessible melee-focused battle royale titles around.

Despite some decent combat and sustainable charm, Rumbleverse has very little going on to hold your attention beyond one or two sittings.

I didn't even want to try the game just looking at the main menu that was a cheap knockoff of the fortnite menu. Sure, lingo and wordage will be similar but even placement of features was almost identical and just looked way worse. My character animation was repeating every 2-3 seconds and I could clearly see the cut and restart. Just looked sloppy and unappealing and didn't even want to start a game judging from how little time they spent on the face. Full Review »

At the moment ever single match I play is filled with half a dozen 'oh heck no' moments, where you are positive that's not how things should have gone down.

Firstly, I don't know why there is such horrendous lag--the networking right now is atrocious. Seems odd to have such bad lag with a fully released Unreal Engine game put out by Epic themselves. And believe me, networking is hugely important in this game. Constantly I will run away from someone I just downed, and they will teleport to me and grab me. It happens several times a game. Not to mention the rock/paper/scissor type of gameplay here, it's so important to read your opponent and make the right choice or juke...that's all moot if your choice is quashed by network lag which allows your opponent to win each engagement because of ping. Yuch, it feels terrible.

Every match I play, there is someone that has the broken ability to get up immediately after getting smashed...I thought it was a perk at first, but nope. They either are hacking, or know how to cancel the stun frames. It feels terrible and wrong.

Lastly, I'm not being a little whiney baby here, but players have found out how to play in such a way that just...feels stupid. I feel like it doesn't matter if I get better or learn from this game, people constantly abuse the mechanics and make it feel un-fun.

At least twice a match I run into someone that can jump kick past me and then immediately mid-animation zip a 180 and jump kick me in the back. How? I have no idea. It happens a lot. I can't do that...they can though. Feels terrible.

This game makes me madder than Overwatch on it's worst day.

Could be a ton of fun, but it's infuriating right now. It's going to give me a heartattack.
