Romero's Aftermath. Are we lead to believe that it was approved by George A. Romero, the master of horror cinema? When I saw the title, kind of. No, instead it's actually from his son, George C. Romero.

I wasn't even aware he had a son, a quick search online pulls up almost absolutely nothing that would lead me to believe George C. Romero would be competent in game development, besides

Then I saw the pinned title, describing how there are not only people who worked on The War-Z but also Infestation Survivor Stories, but that the engine running those horrible lackluster titles was infact licensed for this game.

So we got someone, using their father's good name to attract attention, using a engine for some of the worst games on steam. At what point should anyone who has kept track of the stupid drama surrounding these games have ANY interest at all this this title?

Yeah, sure, it's free to play. Big deal. The folks behind previous titles shouldn't even be WANTED on STEAM anymore. Romero Jr. is a horrible hack selling his family name to utter garbage like this, and trying to earn a living off his father's reputation. What a sad day.

Romero's Aftermath is the spiritual successor to Infestation: Survivor Stories...That should probably tell you something.

Like the game before it, Aftermath is basically a DayZ clone but free to play. All I'm going to say to that, is you get what you pay for. You're dropped into an open world with other players and you need to survive. One thing that I will praise Aftermath for is that

You're dropped into an open world with other players and you need to survive. One thing that I will praise Aftermath for is that it is challenging. You need to get food so you don't die of hunger. You need water bottles for water, because your character can't drink ou of lakes for some reason. Don't try and say "The river's dirty" or anything like that as an excuse, because dirty water is a consumable in the game. But, the game does bring a big challenge o anyone but then again, that's soething DayZ has already done. Aftermath does nothing to make people choose this over DayZ except for 3 things:

    1) Take everything that was good about DayZ and make things 10X worse
    2) Free to play (which is one of the few praises I have for this game)
    3) Add in a micro transactions element to the game and make everything that's incuded in the in game store incredibly hard to find in game so you try and make tons of cash from it.

It also doesn't help that around 60% of the servers in this game are servers where barely anything functions.

Graphics in this game are decent to say the least. The game could have looked worse, but it easily could have looked alot better.

This game is better than Infestation: Survivor Stories bu that isn't really saying much. I don't even think tht this game is worth picking up even when it's free. There is already an infinately better version out there called DayZ. The devs are going with the tactic "It's free, it's meant to be sh*t" In my opinion, that's not a valid excuse. If you're putting a game onto an insanely popular market and it's free to play, then it has to at least be half decent. Look at Team Fortress 2, that game is free to play and that game is amazing and tons of people are still playing it to this day, I doubt anybody will remember this game any time in the near future.

    Pros
    + Decent graphics
    + Challenging
+ Better than Infstation: Survivor Stores
Actually you know what, forget about that last pro, that isn't something to be proud about

    Cons
    - Boring gameplay
    - Half broken servers
    - Bugs and glitches
    - Terrible animations
    - Micro Transactions
