*THIS REVIEW IS BASED OFF OF SINGLE PLAYER ONLY*... a fun, imaginative and humorous game, let down by the fact that the single player campaign is only 2.5 - 3 hours in length.

This game is so bad. If you want to play against an AI which rolls 90% of the time 5s and 6s then here you go. I played now easily 20 hours. The AI has always 3 suited cards for him, while you're stuck on like 4 of 2 different kinds etc. The list is so long....

God this was painful to play.

Good: It has a theme, it's a nice take on an old genre, decent animations, well glued together, Technically competent. Bad: No regard for player comfort or time. Animations can't be skipped, intros can't be skipped (ever) and the game pauses if alt tabbed. It's excruciatingly slow, takes ages to do basic things, minutes to start a game, then bad roll and

RNG is a bad idea. We had no better system back in the day and I understand RNG in competitive play. But versus AI, you should have a limiter on. XCOM has the right idea. Infamous for bad rolls as it is, it has a high score and this doesn't because XCOM isn't really RNG. Every time the AI rolls a hit, the chance for it to roll a hit decreases. Every time you roll a miss, the chance to roll a hit increases.

This is why (even though that's not true RNG) a 33% chance to hit happens roughly every 3 rolls instead of happening 0 times in 20 rolls and the having 7 in a row. Because by then you lost.

Enter the game, stand around looking at animation, next, next, next, yes, yes, 4 minutes pass (it's a CASUAL GAME what are you doing) then get double-rolled and lose. Look. 20-4 attacks should not fail until I lose all my units. What are you doing.

The best alternative if you can't play it in person with friends, and also quicker clean up and less storage place taken up.

However, this game has been delisted. However it is still playable if you bought it before, and it is fully functional.

Don't hesitate to try it as a flavorful and humorous new way to experience a beloved strategy template, with the AI or distant friends. [July 2011, p.69]

Does for risk what Plants vs. Zombies did or tower Defense - made it colourful and gave it character! [May 2011, p.66]
