    The actual game is good that's the 3 points it gets. But it is not free 2 play its pay 2 play. If you crash (and you crash randomly easy sometimes) you use up tokens which are acquired with money. So technically its not free to play its only free to start. I would not mind if its is pay 2 win but its much more worse than that. If you can actually play the game for free (as they say it is)The actual game is good that's the 3 points it gets.     Absolutely pointless game. Why pay for everything even to restart the race and cars, upgrades etc. when you can just buy Ridge Racer Unbounded and get much more for your money, including a level editor? Driftopia is clearly a desperate attempt at breaking in to the free to play market. It's barely free, so if you have any interest in this game, just get Unbounded and save yourself time,Absolutely pointless game.     Boring, boring, boring... Sub-par racing combined with micro transactions makes this game seem very pointless considering there are other great racing games out there. Opponent cars seem to be locked in their track, so if you crash you can be sure that you're the one that will fly off to the side.

    Basically this is a money grab version of unbound. The tracts are just copys of the unbound ones. The cars get wrecked far easier than unbound and cost you tokens(repiars) each time to repair(if you choose not to repair the car you lose it permentaly and you have decide soon it is wrecked) and the higher the cars level the more tokens it cost. Over all the game can have promise but is no where near ready for any kind of release and the pay part needs to be scaled back.… Expand

    I realize that this is an early access game. There is nothing worse than in game purchases that are charged to your real world credit card. LAME. As soon as I realized that there were real fees for purchases in game I immediately removed the software from my machine.

    It looked OK and handled kind of stiffly at this point in development. There are constant server reads that cause a delay in the game transitions (communicating with the store). In my experience this kind of in-game lag tends to get out of hand on release day as the number of micro-transactions increases. The DRIFT aspect of the game is not very good.

    In game purchases leave you with the perception that the races are unfair.

    pointless, very long to evolve. bad bad bad game. your car is so weak, and it's called driftopia when it's probably the worst drift game ever done so yeah.

Ok, it's free to play but you pay for everything, soon you run out of repair tokens and your car becomes obsolete, you want to keep your car, pay, pay and pay, simple as that. The game is good but this is the worst case of microtransactions ever. Why don't they release just full game with everything for 20 bucks?     Free to play? My ass! Repair Kits is NOT free or reasonably can be farmed with basic cars. And without RK-s GAME OVER. You lost your prescious Tier 2 car. What a waste... With the starting pack I can gain only Tier2 car, than run out of RK-s. EWERY fukkin minutes I feel the pressure of the financial leader: BUY! BUY! BUY! SPEND YOUR MONEY NOW!. Dosgusting.     Echoing the overwhelming sentiment of these reviews: The repair kit system is frustrating and not fun. It reeks of an idea that was concocted in a board room about maximizing profits in a free-to-play format. I'll look for a different racing game as a result. That said, the actual game play is actually pretty fun and I enjoyed the spirit race style multiplayer.

    There is so much hate about this game. I play it with an xBox 360 wireless controller and having a great fun, don't know how about you keyboard users.. It's a perfect time killer and i didn't mind to spend 12 euros on 10 additional garage slots and a 24 hours score booster pack and i it's pretty much all i needed. Some tracks are challenging as much as some "stupid" opponents ghosts :P andThere is so much hate about this game.     Think of a pile of poop. That is what Ridge Racer Driftopia is. The developers took Unbounded and gave it a horrible micro transaction system. You crashed too easily. The cars handle like they have 10 tons of Vaseline on them and the garage system is to simply to milk their customers. Good thing they're shutting down this piece of crap.
