    A fun music game overall that is comparable to Audiosurf. You can add as many songs as you want it seems. The controls are very simple also. It is also priced well.

    This game does have a good idea behind it, taking the Audiosurf idea of making a rhythm based game involving your own music, as opposed to whatever the developers want you to play. Sadly, Rhythm Zone tries to do one thing and does it badly. The gameplay seems akin to anyone that has played any Guitar Hero/Rock Band game. Not in terms of physical controls, as I don't see how a game like this could be done any better, but there does seem to be a good amount of lag from pressing a button to anything happening.
    One of the main things Rhythm Zone boasts is the ability to play your own music while the game adapts to it, like Audiosurf and Beat Hazard. However, unlike those two, Rhythm Zone does a terrible job at making it fit. Slow or fast, loud or quiet, it seems all you'll get is random notes that have no relation to any kind of beat. It's like you're playing Dance Dance Revolution with ear muffs. Sure, the game does come with it's own music, but if it manages to do a terrible job with the gameplay with added songs, I have small hope the built-in songs would play any better.

    While it looks fine for a Guitar Hero-esque game, it plays nothing like it at all. If you want a great music game which you can play with your own music, play Audiosurf. Not only does it work much better, but it also manages to make the music the user wants to play actually change the game.    … Expand

    Wow! What is with all of the bad press on this game? I bought it for a reasonable price and have spent more hours playing this to my own music than many other games. It may not be perfect, but you have to hand it to the developer for being able to make something similar to another popular game, yet more dynamic. You can play your own music and it automatically generates the key presses. The only downside I really see with this game is that the boards no longer work. I didn't really like any of the other use-your-own-music games (well, except Beat Hazard - before they changed it). None of them required the twitch reaction speed that this game can (in harder modes) have. Plus, having your music blaring in the background as you try to keep up offers a genuine immersive feel.… Expand

    It does what its supposed to, very entertaining for a short amount of time. You can play any song you want, but the concept does get dry and the game does get boring. I generally enjoy playing it though, even if the enjoyment is short lived.

    At $10 it won't break the bank, and the basic premise is solid, but the bottom line is that the core feature doesn't work.

    Adding your favorite songs to a Guitar Hero style IP is a great idea, but Rhythm Zone fails in gameplay, with few available game modes, and in its heart, the music analyzer. If you are looking for an immersive and addictive music game, better try something - even free - else.
