MichaelM.May 14, 2007Completely different than the rest of the games. Can't believe how they changed the story and the game play was awesome.

Apr 21, 2011The port itself was not so great, but with a couple mods (Mouse Aiming, Hi-Res and Improved Textures) It becomes the best version of the game. My main gripe is that the quick time event buttons are numbered actions, instead of the name of the action or a picture of the key it is related to.

Mar 15, 2012Use a gamepad and it's instantly as good as it is on consoles. The graphics are slightly better, and with one of the many available texture packs it's much better. The FMV looks terrible but the PC version is the best of this outstanding game.

Mar 23, 2013Dear capcom just do a one good thing in your life and give us a good PC port of RE4!
Is it to hard to make a new PC port and release it on Steam?
I think no. -
Sep 10, 2015This game is fantastic. It seems like all I hear on reviews about the PC port is how much it sucks compared to a console, but really it isn't that bad. Sure it might take some getting used to, and the controls are a bit lacking but I learned it and it soon became second nature. That aside, it is one of the greatest games I've ever played. It is very immersive and it's hard to put it down.

May 9, 2020First change of Resident Evil formula to more action oriented TPP. And it was a damn good one. What's even better is that it wasn't only action oriented, but it had it's fair share of scares too (Regenerators, Iron Maidens...uhhh). I can't think of any obvious flaws in this game.

Dec 7, 2020Best game in the series by far. I've replayed this more times than I can count.

SDP.Aug 19, 2007Excellent mix of puzzles and action. Once you finish the game the "professional" mode is unlocked as well as other extras. Great game!

Oct 17, 2012It took me a whole school grade to complete it. It was long, scary, and it took place at Spain XDDD I can't ask for anything else, it's just an awesome game.

Dec 12, 2018An amazing modern take on the traditional survival horror. Some aspects such as the controls feel a little dated now but it still plays great and is a must have for fans of the series early games.
-
Oct 2, 2020Story: 8, Gameplay: 9, Graphics: 9. Although they stirp away the "survival horror" from the series with this one, but you can't deny that the series evolved with this game, it's one of the first video game that blew my mind.

Jun 20, 2020Adorei o jogo apesar da jogabilidade limitada em ter que ficar parado pra disparar a arma, pra época são gráficos bons, a história é meio sem noção e a personagem Ashley é extremamente irritante.
-
Jun 7, 2022I definitely recommend playing it. It is a legendary game that changes the game world. The story is too cliche.

JoeS.Sep 11, 2007Despite not having mouse support, or lacking shaders before the patch, this game runs and controlls superbly with a Xbox 360 controller. Sure the graphics are horrible compared to todays games, but it is a fun game if you can get past the cheasy-ness of everything.

It's a simple port of a console game and as such is best played on a console.
-
The best bit is that you can experience the whole story again through the eyes of a completely different character, thus unwrapping further details about the plot. This kind of storytelling is not found too often and it was certainly a pleasure to undertake.
-
This is actually technically inferior to the console versions, and it badly hurts the experience. Just because it works on the PC doesn't make it a PC game - ask for your fiver back, Capcom. [Apr 2007, p.84]
