A series of strange disappearances have been occurring in the American Midwest within a place called Racoon City. A specialist squad of the police force known as S.T.A.R.S. has been investigating the case, and have determined that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella and their biological weapon, the T-Virus, are behind the incidentsthough they've lost several members in the process. Jill Valentine and the other surviving S.T.A.R.S. members try to make this truth known, but find that the police department itself is under Umbrella's sway and their reports are rejected out of hand.

However, soon reports of a grisly "cannibal virus" begin to surface, and vicious dogs begin roaming the streets. With the viral plague spreading through the town and to her very doorstep, Jill is determined to survive.
However, unbeknownst to Jill, an extremely powerful pursuer has already been dispatched to eliminate her.

Resident Evil 3 is a stellar remake of a survival-horror classic that honors the past, while updating the game with contemporary graphics and controls.

Resident Evil 3 retells the story of Jill's desperate escape from the doomed Raccoon City, using an intriguing plot and more fleshed out characters than the original. It falls short of the sheer amount of content its predecessors had, but it excels in moment to moment gameplay which it delivers in spades.

In the end, Resident Evil 3 is own nemesis, a remake that's enjoyable but seems a little shallow when compared to the innovations the RE3 that came before it brought to the table.

While last year’s Resident Evil 2 took the story and settings of the original game and expanded them into a finely tuned masterpiece, Resident Evil 3 feels like it took a much different approach. The story, and the path it takes from beginning to end, has seen some substantial changes compared to the original to the point where it’s sometimes difficult to see any semblance of its source material under this new coat of polygons and paint. That having been said, I did enjoy my time with Resident Evil 3 and I think that fans of the series, or fans of its predecessor, will enjoy it. However, one group I feel like it might struggle to impress are the fans of the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis which is quite unfortunate after how well last year’s Resident Evil 2 was received.

Fundamentally, Resident Evil 3 is two great chase scenes, four awesome boss fights, and a bunch of mediocre filler to make up the rest of the running time. It’s a magnificent, breathtaking ride the first time through, but once that initial ride is over, it becomes a competent zombie shooter and little else.

If you’re looking for the authentic Resident Evil experience, this is definitely not it. But if you have a Resident Evil itch that you just need to scratch, this could provide lots of hours of entertainment for you, even without the Resident Evil Resistance standalone experience. But at the end of the day, I’d rather just play the excellent Resident Evil 2 Remake, or even the original Resident Evil 3 on my old PS2 instead.

Resident Evil 3 is essentially a chain of action set-pieces, threaded together with a paper-thin story and a few too many cutscenes. This is the direction the series started to take post-Resident Evil 4, when it seriously lost its way and we ended up with the abysmal Resident Evil 6, and I'd hate to see that happen again.

This isn't a resident evil, they cut half of the game off and that nemesis is NOT the nemesis who I've met in original game. But for aThis isn't a resident evil, they cut half of the game off and that nemesis is NOT the nemesis who I've met in original game. But for a separate game, if you forget the resident evil 3 original, and just play like a normal survival-horror, is a mid game Expand

Proof that better graphics do not make for a better game... the original was so much better. Honestly it feels like only half a game. ONLYProof that better graphics do not make for a better game... the original was so much better. Honestly it feels like only half a game. ONLY BUY THIS GAME ON SALE. It IS WORTH playing but you are not going to want to replay this one. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM with this remake is that if feels like they took more out of game compared to the original and it feels rushed and empty. In a remake I feel like they need to add more not take more out.

+ Nemesis feels more like a treating than ever in terms of strength, and speed.
+ The power station bug section is amazing and unique and the game needed a lot more of those sections.
+ The dodging mechanic is back and it feels good when you get it right! A very good add to this game.
+++ The end game timer does not count the cut-scenes & the cinematic moments
+/- First of all the game is too short but that has never been a problem for the RE series BUT it is here because there are no puzzles, and linear game play.
+ Changing Jill's design makes more sense because the original tube top and mini shirt just don't make sense.
---NO RE-PLAYABILITY (harder modes do not count)
-The puzzles are too easy to the point where it is embarrassing.
-This game sacrificed having a big city to explore to becoming something that felt empty and horribly linear. There are too many landmarks in the city missing, No clock tower (mostly), No Raccon Park, No graveyard, No gas station, No newspaper building, No Mayor statues. No construction sites (not really). The game did not feel like a city if felt like 2 blocks of a town and that is a huge problem.
    - The story was so poorly written and that pacing felt so rushed that characters never got a chance to have the interactions they needed for the story to feel right.
    - The original game has these quick time events where you had to make decisions that really effected game play and enhanced re-playability and because that was neglected that game feels linear and empty.
    - Missing enemies like giant worm, Grave digger and spider
    - No multiple endings.

I just want to be honest this game is NOT a 0 but it is NOT a 10 by any means.

If you’re a die hard fan of the original re3, skip this one out , you gonna weep on how much content they cut from this.
