While most conversions from console to computer are terrible, Resident Evil 2 PC excels in every way to its ps1 counterpart. Firstly, a new "Hard" mode is included, where enemies are stronger, ammo is more scarce and the player has lower health. Also included is Extreme Battle Mode and the Gallery. The graphics have also been smoothened. All in all, still a fantastic game, even today. Expand

Если их пересматривать сейчас, то это просто смешно, но на то время они крайне сильно впечатляли. Capcom молодцы, своим творчеством внесли огромный вклад в счастливое детство. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The atmosphere is amazing. Resident Evil 2 can become very scary.
I will never forget the autopsy room. Blood covered its door, and every time I passed near it I expected horrific monster to emerge from it. When I entered it, I finally relaxed, when saw zombies lying on the floor. Then I was scared to death when the music drastically changed tone. Zombies pulled themselves out of freezers!
Music is the most beautiful part of the game, contested only by room designs. Warm save room soundtrack brought me serenity and calmness. Organ motifs of the precinct lobby music unsettled me. Distant lab sirens wailing hurried me up, pushing to the action.
The beauty of police precinct enamoured me. Corrupted and tainted, it remained a temple of order and art. I would love to see it in its prime, clean and splendid.
The same with Umbrella labs - how great they were! The place, where the greatest scientific breakthrough of century had been achieved. Where the human had harnessed the power of nature!
The most likable person for me was William Birkin. He is a tragic scientist, led to demise by his genius and determination. He abandoned everything, but was betrayed and became a monster.
Backtracking in RE2 was tiresome. Half of my time was spent running circles, from one room to another. The final battle with Mr. X in Claire B was a big letdown, I just unleashed carefully saved arsenal on him - and he died fast. The final boss in Leon A was more interesting, with his two forms.
