Pared-back baseball sim with really good pitching, mediocre hitting and terrible fielding. This is a game crying out for some razamatazz in its presentation - there's no commentary, no game build-up, no anything. What we have here is a 1990 handheld baseball game but with modern-ish graphics, equivalent to MLB The Show 2011 on PS3, i.e. not cutting-edge but decent.

    edit: also, some

edit: also, some really annoying bugs present. Throw to home goes through catcher's legs, ball reappears in his glove after the runner scores, throws to third, nobody at third, ball into left field???
The pitching is great, a nice confidence and stamina meter affecting accuracy. The batting is more swing and miss than hit, with a tricky charging system that lacks nuance. The fielding is bad - the players have almost no animations, and the catching hit box is ridiculous, as accurate as firing a bow and arrow wearing boxing gloves.

In summary, a decent baseball game with no frills and not for fielding enthusiasts
