    A perfect game for families.

    I purchased this game at Christmas for my boys, who are 3 and 4 years old. They have been playing it for 4 months now with no sign of getting bored of it. Because the game is cooperative, both of them are always playing together which means no waiting around. Throughout January I was getting past most of the hard stuff for them, but now my 3 year old has    A perfect game for families.

Throughout January I was getting past most of the hard stuff for them, but now my 3 year old has exceeded my skill level at the game... and I'm a gamer. At first I thought he was some kind of videogame savant, but I now realize that it's just an amazing game that keeps kids and adults completely engaged having fun together. The game also allows you to beat each other up along the way making for some hilarious mishaps.

    The game is the most polished platformer I've played since Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World. However, I would dare to say that Rayman Origins takes the title as the greatest platformer ever created. The designers have included the kitchen sink, but it all melds together perfectly. It's difficulty ramp is perfect, the animations are mind blowing & blend together absolutely seemlessly, it's funny, the music is amazing, it's innovative, it's polished, the graphics are total eye candy, the painted backgrounds are beautiful, and best of all: it's somehow just as fun for adults as it is for children. In a world where video games have turned into a cult of the new, with sequel after uninspiring sequel, this game stands alone as something that game development houses used to stand for. Though the game has only sold a few hundred thousand copies, I strongly believe that it will still be selling 50 years from now, as it is honestly EVERYTHING that anyone could ever ask from a platformer and more.    … Expand

    Outstanding visual design, great music, goofy story and sense of humor plus precise controls and just simple plain fun throughout make Rayman Origins a sublime platformer in a gaming world obsessed with online shooters. It's a MUST!

    Note: This game does have support for the Xbox 360 controller for windows, but the controllers must be turned on when the program starts. The art and music in this game are simply amazing. They take what is essentially a basic platformer and make it into something fun and memorable. Beautiful visuals with a great art style and animations, music that fits perfectly into the audiovisual experience, quirky and entertaining characters, a level design that is easy to learn and hard to master (if you're after high scores) and an up to four player co-op mode to play with family or friends.     Above all I have to say the presentation is amazing. Firstly comes an artwork, then an excellent game. Also the difficulty curve is pretty good.You would not feel too frustrated if only for a fluid experience, yet so many possibilities to be discovered. GJ OST & 2D drawing.

    Great gameplay elements. Nice artwork and visual style. Soundtrack is amazing. Everything fits nice and perfectly upon each other. Definitely the comeback for Rayman. It's a must have for everyone.

    Beautiful aesthetics, silky smooth animations, wacky soundtrack and fast paced chaotic platforming staying true to the original rayman game. One of my favorite games last year and the PC version is just as good, with surprising lack of DRM from Ubisoft

    What I can say about this game? This is very beautiful, cheerful platformer. Good graphics, unusual characters, good soundtrack. So, playing on keyboard is comfortable. You should play. 9 of 10.

    As far as platformer games go, this is one of the best I've played in a very long time… The animations are superb, the environments are incredible, the menus are all well presented and the character selections are vast.     This is the first game I preordered and I have been too buy too play the game but I'm 30 minutes in and I have to say it's pretty fun. I love the soundtrack and I got a free copy of Rayman 2 with the preorder. Now that's awesome.

    I had a few smaller problems when playing with keyboard but honestly, anyone that regularly plays platformers that doesn't have a gamepad is a bit odd. It works perfectly with my 360 pad.
    The art is beautiful, there are lots of small secrets, and it's plain (/v/ would hate me for this) fun.

    The Canadian government can be proud of co-funding such an excellent piece of art! All games should be of such superior, flawless, beautiful quality.

    I hope they will make a version for kids one day, a version that's a bit less hard.

    The best platformer ever made in my opinion an absolute must have for any gamer who grew up playing donkey kong country mario etc etc i really hope they release rayman legends on the pc platform because i will buy it day one this game is absolutly amazing buy it

    Great for cooperative playing. I've been playing this game with my girlfriend (both of us with wireless gamepads) and we have had a blast!
    It's like a super Mario Bros with nice graphs, music, level design, etc. It is clearly a console-type game, with no intellectual aspirations, but runs great on the PC and is lot's of fun when playing cooperative.

    This game is good for kids alone but not the best game ever.
    BUT, with 2,3 or 4 players this game is very, very FUN !
    Beautiful, handy and inventive is the perfect game for the whole family !

    Simply the finest platformer I've had the pleasure of playing. The engine is remarkable, all the assets (art, music, animation) are remarkably well-made, cute and clean and consistent. The scoring and difficulty are perfect and in local co-op it really shines. With some gamepads, it's a beautiful and fun kid-friendly game. One of the favorite games I have on Steam.

    This extremely fresh masterpiece is a perfect example of what a modern day 2D platformer should be. Rayman Origins is an inspired game disguised as a flash cartoon which anyone can enjoy.

    Sweet mother of monkey milk, I love this game. It's gorgeous-looking, it's wonderful-sounding, and it's pure fun platforming. Each level is perfect with the just the right difficulty, great replayability, and fun beat em' up action that is melded into the platforming in a seemingly effortless way. This is platforming perfection. It's so good to have Rayman back!

    Yet another great game by Ubisoft. Really everything in this game music, controls, colorful graphics, characters is loveable and carefully designed. I finished it in 2 players local co-op and it was extremely fun. And one last think, do not be fooled by graphics, the game is really hard to beat but on the way you enjoy it!

    Rayman Origins is return to the original 2D Rayman which i presonally consider the best part of the series. Long waiting in Rayman series for sure paid off in this part.

    Beautiful art, no DRM, and works great with a gamepad. There are plenty of hidden easter eggs and the soundtrack always seems to be spot on. A must buy if you liked the original 2D rayman games.

    HA! I never thought I'd have THIS MUCH FUN! Definitely matched Rayman 2 in terms of greatness. Soundtrack? Sheesh guy, it was HOT! Artwork? Beautiful, All in all, I was playing a masterpiece.

    Beautiful graphics, very rough levels, some funny moments, and plenty of levels. I have not encountered any bugs that stood out like a sore thumb, was happy with the DRM free goodness. I cannot think of any serious downsides other than maybe redundancy and frustratingly difficult levels.

    This is a masterpiece of a game and its so sad that its not getting the sales it deserves. I bought this game when it was going for 15$ during the steam summer sale and i honestly think this game is worth the full retail price. I wasn't expecting it to be that good as Bastion but this is one of those games that you will be proud of completing 100%.

    An amazing and unique platformer. I've always enjoyed Rayman games, and this was no exception. The game is packed with content in the highest form of quality from gameplay to music to the graphics. If only there were more games like this on the PC. Also, the difficulty of the game was perfectly integrated, it suits both casual and intense gamers.

    The artwork and music are terrific, but the I didn't find the game play to be very much fun, and I thought the animations looked terrible. I guess this just isn't my cup of tea.

    Disney quality music and animation, or better, marred by meat-boy difficulty. I've never seen a game with so many opportunities for instant-death. Repeating the same sequence a bazillion times is not entertaining. I really want to like this game, but I always feel like throwing my controller at something five minutes in.

    Piece of S**t, dont buy it..............i found it utterly boring, simple and mediocre. The soundtrack was just ok, and there are problems with character control. Overall the game doesn't worth it.

It crashes first after the first movie and then and the final level of the first world, and in some levels of the second. I haven't played past some level on the second due to a crash, and I doubt I'll play again. And the crashes are utterly random: we load a level, it crashes before we're ableGood and addictive game.     Very sweet and colorful game, nice graphics. Gameplay annoying and silly though, i think i enjoyed the game about 10-15 minutes before i just thought

    I'm unsure how this game has been rated so highly. The game doesn't compete with new platformers like Mark of the Ninja which are just put together a lot better. The game has a couple of bugs on scripted events, check points can be far too far apart and with no manual save this is an issue. Also the game is 10-14 hours long all said and done which is just too long for a very averageI'm unsure how this game has been rated so highly.     Brings Back childhood memories, I remember playing Rayman 2 thinking how can games produce these graphics they were mind blowing to me as a kid, Ubisoft has outdone themselves with this Rayman, from the vivid colors and mesmerizing artwork. A true masterpiece.

The fun factor weakened.

    It's one of the stupidest games I've ever played! Visually the game is great, but it's pretty dumb and stupid with no real story and satisfaction at the end. All you do is just run around collect stuff and you die all the time! To complete a two minute level you have to try and run through it a million times until you perfect every little jump and move, which is very-very frustrating.     Never played Rayman games a lot, but have to admit that this one is a master piece. If you're looking for a fun game with challenge, go ahead ! Even better in coop if you have friends or gf !

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I tend to avoid giving games perfect scores, mostly because it implies that I'm a fanboy, but also because no game is perfect. In Rayman Origins' case, I really can't find anything in it worth criticising. In anyone else's hands, RO could've been a visually confusing and frustrating mess, but in Michael Ancel's case, it instead turns out to be a near flawless masterpiece of 2D plat forming. I do have some minor gripes though: the soundtrack can sometimes get repetitive, such as the music at the end of each level can sometimes grate but it's hardly game-breaking. The game is a console port, but the controls themselves feel quite intuitive and the feel of the game diminishes these issues. It can become trial & error fairly often, but since it's such a joy to play and listen to, I didn't really care. The fact that this game (along with all of Ancel's games) has sold quite poorly seems almost tragic, so if you're in the mood for something that'll liven your spirit and provide an anti-dote to LIMBO's grim atmosphere, get Rayman Origins!… Expand

The game is similar to the predecessors to this show cool climate with an interesting and extensive campaign coop. Despite these advantages, however, play something else.     This game is definitelly 10 out of 10, however there's a newer better version called Rayman Legends that has all Origins levels in it so you are better off buying Rayman Legends instead.

    This is by the far the best platformer I've ever played, ad even one of the best games. It looks and plays amazingly, the gameplay is inventive, and the fun feel it has is great. This game will keep you playing for hours with tons of levels, replayability, and secret areas.

    Amazing and very fun game. I repeated this game 3 times, and I still like to come back to this game, especially when I'm bored, because it's great game fro wasting time, or playing it with your family too.

    As a 2D platformers and co-op fan, I have to admit I love this game. The only reason I gave it "only" 8.5/10 is that "Rayman Legends" is just better in every way and it deserved one point higher score.

    Had a blast with this game. Fun for all ages. Although lacking graphics (from Legends atleast) It's still a fun experience to go through. You can unlock characters but are just reskins of Rayman, Globox and the Teensies. MUST BUY

    Un dibujo animado interactivo con una jugabilidad similar al primer Rayman de PS1, el único problema es que en ciertas ocasiones se ralentiza un poco. En lo personal prefiero los juegos de plataformas en 2D como en la época de los 16 bits y esto es un aire fresco mezclado con nostalgia que da como resultado un juego muy entretenido.

    Super fun game. Hilarious plot (the badguy's motivation behind starting the chaos is that Rayman and his friends were snoring too loud). Who knew that it was possible to make a playable slapstick cartoon? Super high def cartoon sprites are nice to look at. Level design is pretty decent. It's no Mario, but then again Mario isn't hilarious.

    I sincerely have nothing to complain about it!
    The game is great, at all points, the gameplay, the '"flow", level design, the graphics, animations, everything! Very good for kids and families, easy to play, and although kid-friendly, it's not just for kids, the game is great! I Played it and i LOVED it! I recommend it a lot, it's a hell of a fun experience for a "low" price!

The way Rayman's moves are designed combined with the level design makes it fun and extremely satisfying to speedrun through all the levels, and you never feel like you need to blame the controls. The thing that might turn some people away from this game is the difficulty, which some players may not be used to (if you're new to Rayman you will find yourself retrying certain levels a LOT) but the difficulty isn't a problem to people experienced with platformers. If you are a fan of free-flowing 2D platformers I seriously recommend this game to you.… Expand

    What rayman game series should be most praised for is the soundtrack. Every single song works and each are masterpieces. after that come character designing, colorful levels and controls. It's been months rayman is my regular and daily game that I like to spend a little time with.

    Genialmente diseñado, con unos controles estupendos. Rayman se mueve de maravilla, y los niveles están vivos. Además, el juego es muy bonito y el aspecto visual ha sido muy cuidado. La banda sonora también es muy buena.

Es un juego muy pulido a nivel visual y a nivel jugable, aunque pueda parecer genérico de momentos, la jugabilidad frenética logra que te olvides de esto, y losUno de los mejores juegos de la saga después de Rayman 2. Es un juego muy pulido a nivel visual y a nivel jugable, aunque pueda parecer genérico de momentos, la jugabilidad frenética logra que te olvides de esto, y los niveles de perseguir el tesoro están muy bien diseñados. Son instancias muy divertidas y la vas a pasar muy bien. La dificultad ascendiente y la exploración para conseguir skins también es un punto muy positivo (quitando el hecho de que las skins son pocas, y esta todo lleno de simples recolores). Sin embargo, critico el excesivo ensayo y error que tienen el juego, especialmente en el ultimo nivel... Y la falta de modo online para el modo cooperativo. La historia tampoco me gusto. Si bien agradezco que hayan traído de vuelta a Betilla y a los electoons del Rayman 1 después de mucho tiempo... Que paso con el Rayman tierno, valiente y serio del Rayman 2?! No por nada termino siendo mi Rayman favorito de todos. Este tiene el universo y jugabilidad perfecta de la saga.
    Como sea, Rayman Origins a pesar de sus fallos, es uno de mis videojuegos de plataformas favoritos, básicamente es el regreso de Rayman! Rayman es una saga para quedarse :)    … Expand

    Great Rayman game again i enjoyed it a lot with friends the same as legends its still weird they are doing nothing with this IP

    good chapters design, good music and ...
    but there is some problems with gameplay for example in some condition there is a jumping problem when you are moving.

    Rayman Origins re-introduces an intense freshness to a genre that many gamers chose to remember by a couple of well-known brand names that monopolize interest… and the rest consider long dead.
