    Despite being almost two decades old, Quake II is still a competent FPS. Sure the graphics are dated and it'll take some tinkering to get it to work properly on Windows 10, but it does boast an awesome industrial rock soundtrack by Sonic Mayhem, a decent length single-player campaign and a memorable arsenal of weapons.     Мой любимейший квейк. Даже для своих лет, крайне приятная стрельба, в отличии от вышедшей в том же году - халвы . Враги приятно разлетаются на части, переговариваются, и имеют несколько атак почти каждый.

    Re-Played in 2021. Nice remaster, goes smoothly.
    I personally prefer the first Quake, this one seems too repetitive to me.

    Quake 2 wasnt much of an improvement over the original graphics wise. The story is as forgettable as the original but it is better in the sense that you have actual objectives and not just key hunting. The sound and music are good. The gameplay is satisfying. The guns are fun to use, the enemies are balanced and it is fun to play it through.

    This game is part of my childhood. I went from Doom 1 & 2 to this and then Half-Life. Needless to say this (like almost every id game) is a gem and you should at least try it out because it's a piece of gaming history.

    This First Person Shooter is different than most today due to the speed at which it is played. There are no other games today that are so fast paced and require as much dexterity as this game. It is true that the game is so fast paced partly due to abuses in the Quake2 engine, but nonetheless, it makes the game even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the online scene is quite unique with all the players being die-hards who have played for literally decades. The superb skill-set which most of the players have just adds to the fun. The numerous mods that can be played on various servers is what is truly makes the game and has literally kept the game alive for years. But if one gets tired of the online scene, they can always turn to LAN or Single Player. LAN is great to play with friends at LAN parties or just for nostalgia purposes. The single player, while not having the most deep plot to last through the ages does have lots of action. But come on, who plays FPS's for the plot anyway? The single player is linear for the most part but is non-stop fun/killing with a wonderful boss battle to top it off. This game has sucked more time from me than any other game and I truly recommend it.… Expand

    At the time this was revolutionary in graphics and smooth game play. 640x480 with a secondary 3dfx card to give basic anti aliasing, the ones that used to give a mechanical like click when they activated.
    I have played though this game more times than any other to date.

    Something went terribly wrong at id software from Quake to Quake II. The Quake II graphics are ok at best (even for the time period), the movement does not seem to be as good as the original Quake, some of the levels were confusing. Quake II is fun, but not as much fun as the original.

    Quake II is best game of 1997. This FPS eliminates Star Wars Dark Forces II and other games like Blade Runner, Fallout and Total Annihilation! Quake II is the best game of Quake series! Single player and multiplayer are brilliant! In my opinion, also Quake II, not Duke3D and Unreal, best multiplayer shooter in 1990's!
    P.S. Metacritic, you must not overlook this game and put the highest score!

Even if is not palpable and remarkable as the original game, Quake 2 works anyway, being one of the greatest shooters at time.     I take back everything I said about Doom being the best shooter ever. THIS is the best shooter ever. It's much better in graphics, controls and an even higher puzzle factor. If you're into shooters, get this. And it's another great title by Activision.

Les armes sont bien entendu toujours le point fort du jeu ainsi que la nervosité et la violence générale qui ne font certainement pas dans la dentelle : une jouabilité immédiate et brute de décoffrage !

    Les niveaux restent néanmoins assez tordus et obligent à des allers-retours récurrents et incessants entre eux pour remplir les "objectifs"... c'est à un point tel qu'on est assez vite soûlé par ce qui devient un "running à shooting simulator" incroyablement répétitif.

    Carmack et son équipe n'ont donc pas encore réussi à exploiter comme il aurait fallu sa technologie -ici étonnamment efficace graphiquement parlant- pour en faire autre chose qu'un jeu beau et parfois furieux mais trop ballot et ennuyeux sous sa jolie surface.    … Expand

    One of my all-time favourite FPS games. It was amazing for its time. Great atmosphere and mechanics for 1997. Very tense and creepy gameplay (for a kid!). Will always love this game.

    Of course - i loved the game. Everything was awesome and for the most part better than its predecessor. Except one thing - the atmosphere of fear and terrifying evil to be condemned back to hell - was now gone :( i cant agree with the direction this sequel took, setting the mood for all followups, but i still liked it. I just wish the dev's stuck with the claustrophobic inquisition style.

    One of my favourite games of all time. Played millions of multiplayer matches, finished the story mode couple of times, perfect blend of action and strategy (yes strategy!). Making it slower than q1 was great move for me, because You got time to think not just test Your reaction time :). Graphics are not that great now, but You can clearly see who Youre shooting to and whos attacking YouOne of my favourite games of all time. Played millions of multiplayer matches, finished the story mode couple of times, perfect blend of action and strategy (yes strategy!). Making it slower than q1 was great move for me, because You got time to think not just test Your reaction time :). Graphics are not that great now, but You can clearly see who Youre shooting to and whos attacking You (something thats lost now due to more and more detailed graphics wchich makes games chaotic experience nowadays). And i loved the concept of 1 vs 1 matches, not mindless ffa Call of Duty/battlefield like action :D

    Played this sucker back in 1999. Good fun. Solid graphics, cool weapons, spooky design, intense action all add up to classic replayable shooter. Most fun ? taking out enemies with Hyperblaster, Railgun and BFG.

    Quake 2 es un gran juego. Se podría decir que sirvió como inspiración para el primer Half Life con los mapas conectados y en parte la jugabilidad. Uno de los mejores FPS que ademas cuenta con un excelente modo multijugador.

    Quake 2 is also a great and badass experience. I just wish for more speed in gameplay. And Oh yea The Soundtrack is just too good to be true

    The graphics may be a little dated, visuals are more generic than the original Quake but Quake II is still a fun and joyful ride of nothing but absolute carnage, one of those games that i think every gamer should play once in their life.

В 1997, когда другие разработчики шутеров так и не перешли на 3д, ID software клепала свой второй 3d шутер. Удивительно, но игра до сих пор хорошо играется, в отличии от первой части.Оцениваю по меркам тех времен. Мультиплеер я не играл, поэтому оценивать буду сингл.     I had a little trouble playing the second part because there were problems with the controls.
    But overall the game has changed a lot.
    The gameplay became slower a lot from walking to weapons everything felt slower that I didn’t like it, level design problems because unlike the first part, here most of the doors are the same and you can easily get lost where you were and where you weren’t, in some levels there is a blackout sometimes it’s good, but it’s a little difficult to pass the levels, there was also a change in the structure of the levels, if initially in the first part it was necessary to find the keys and find the way out, now you have to press the buttons to turn off or blow up something that is not immediately visible to the eye, which made the game very difficult ,The new Railgun Weapon is cool and interesting, it is interesting to shoot from it
    Also in the game there was a redesign of weapons and they look pretty nice that the Rocket Launcher, BFG, Blaster, Shotgun
    In general, this game is controversial, although it mostly has positive features and only problems with level design

    An absolute classic FPS, I finish this game so many times and always amaze me. But remember, the PlayStation or the Nintendo 64 version is totally different from the pc one. If you like this game check out the Mission Packs: The Reckoning and Ground Zero that is also cool.

    Honestly just as good as the OG! Vvv fun to sit-down and playthrough. really exciting gun effects and animations. Just a very solid shooter honestly. We can thank thiiisss Quake for the technical leap in fps story-telling and mission structure/graphical improvement. An important part of videogame history!

    Great game, though I was running round in circles too many times. Easy to get lost and not pick the right sliding door. Back and forth. Awesome and outstanding soundtracks from Sonic Mayhem. My favorite weapon here is the Rail Gun.

    Legendary game. Played it before Q1.

    Pros.:
    - Game design.
    - Level design.
    - Multiple weapons.
    - Enemies. Ability to cut them into pieces.
    - Sounds!
    - Levels where you could come back and forth.
    - Briefing on F1.
    - Adjusted difficulty.

    Cons.:
    - Need a remaster :D

    This is regarding SP only. Played it back in the day and my feelings then hold true today. It feels bland compared to 1, and I don't like the level design. I found myself backtracking often and multiple times I was confused as to where to go after wiping the levels of enemies. Was just a tad frustrating.

    Neue Waffen, neue Gegner, neue Geschichte.
    Das damalige Setup macht zwar auch noch heute Spass. Quake 1 war/ist aber mindestens genau so gut.
    Es ist nicht mehr die ganz so schnelle Action.

    The setup of that time is still fun today. Quake 1 was/is at least as good, though.
