This is my favorite game of all time. After loving the first one for many years, I can’t believe this one was able to top it. The gameplay of the first one is refined and expanded upon here. It has the same charming writing that the first one had. The characters (both old and new) are written so well and are all so memorable. The mental worlds are all fun and imaginative. It’s an absolute blast to play through and collect everything in each one. The ranking up system is changed (for the better), which makes climbing your way up to 102 even more fun than it was in the first one, in my opinion. I’m usually not really into the story in games, but this one blew me away. I’ve never been so captivated by any story in any piece of media. I’ve played through the game 8 times to 100% (currently in my 9th playthrough) since I got the game on launch day. I can’t overstate how amazing this game is. I love it so much it convinced me to get a Psychonauts tattoo and I’m currently planning my second one. If you like platformers, collecting items, fun worlds, interesting characters, quirky lore, and want a unique experience, then you absolutely must play Psychonauts 2 - the greatest game ever made! Creating a sequel to a cult classic 3D platformer is no easy task, and where Psychonauts 2 doesn't reach the absolute height of some of its predecessor's more experimental and memorable levels, it refined the formula to a point that almost every level is extremely fun, memorable, and feels exactly like a sequel to Psychonauts should.

Jogo incrível, quando ouvia outras pessoas falarem não acreditava, pois parecia ser bem simples, mas me surpreendeu imensamente.

I had a chance to try this game. It was kind of good but not really worth my time. The story and gameplay is good but i had feeling all the time its 10 years old game.

Psychonauts 2 is a work of art in all respects. This is the most fun I have had with any game in a long time. Bravo to Double Fine and Xbox for making this masterpiece.

This game is so good. You can see so much creativity in the developers' minds in each of the levels. Surprisingly it also has a good storyline. It is straight up one of the best platform exploration games.

    a true gem
story, graphics, characters, gameplay, open world and music are solid
but it would have been better if the game was shorter ، at the final chapters everything will become a little repetitive

Psychonauts 2 is easily one of the greatest 3D platformers on the market now. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. On the whole the game is enjoyable, hugely due to its art work. However, there’s this feeling that it lacks something and there’s constant “okay, I’ve seen what this level is like, give me the next one (meaning I don’t care for the gameplay). Also, it’s not without unnecessary sjw: when you see the strong black woman (abused by a white male in the past of course) you can’t help thinking “you are here just to fill a quota”. The same goes for the gay couple - “there’s no reason for you to be here other than the quota”. Expand

One of the most creative games ever made! I liked every aspect of it. It's rich in details, story and characters. Although the controls may seem a little rough, the mechanics and gameplay overall are unique and exciting.
P.S.: it's so much better with controller!

this is the first AAA game in years that made me think there is still hope for the game industry. every aspect of this game is of great quality from the amazing level design to the way gameplay and story are connected. we should praise this amount of creativity since not a lot of studios have any left

Talk about a flounder. Sure the game is mediocre enough, but innovates on nothing and a plat-former this bad in 2021... Not a great look for Double Fine. A badge system that was embarrassed by Paper Mario in 2000 because they do not understand that choice should matter beyond just limiting choice to 3 slots. You have to make the badges interesting or innovate in ANY WAY since 2000. ItTalk about a flounder. Sure the game is mediocre enough, but innovates on nothing and a plat-former this bad in 2021... You have to make the badges interesting or innovate in ANY WAY since 2000. It only proves the GamePass is a value, because just throw this game in the trash otherwise.

It is worse than Psychonauts in every metric. Story is mediocre to charming and platforming is a fail and bad across the board, water kills you because story? why even have water, oh right the trash story mechanic... They just re released the same game with no real innovations and a still bunch of mechanics that should have just been reduced to fit onto a controller or keyboard by default. Oh unless you think **** canoe mechanics that only exist to shore up the story element, that only exists, because why innovate when you can lean into old **** design from 2005.

Why am I constantly swapping out abilities that do not really matter because the developer could not be bother to design a better system. It is the Balan Wonderland problem. It is only a real problem for bad developers that are not smart enough to limit game design. It isn't even like they have too many abilities for a controller or keyboard, but it is like they limited a good control scheme because they live in the past. Almost like every design choice was artificially restricted because art... Psychonauts 2 is a cashgrab and a shame because the first game was a industry game changer, this one meh as meh can be.

GamePass won this round and hopefully DoubleFine won't deliver another Costume Conquest/Broken Age (multi chapter promise shoved down into just a second mirrored chapter game because bad leadership)/SpaceBase (Because again **** you didn't pay us enough) and proves Tim is dead. It seems like his credit goes down at least one score with every release. As long as it is on GamePass, why not. Just steer clear of the Full Throttle and Grim Fandango remasters trash. I want to feel like I am paying for something. At least Nintendo makes it outstanding, not just like even side to side, can you even tell for 5 times the price. To be fair, Nintendo charges 20 times the price. But if this is the metric, barely an upscale with no difference. Nintendo every-time, because at least Nintendo pay a team of people to **** me. Double Fine just ****s me without paying anyone regardless.

One of my all time favorite games. Beautiful sequel and refining of the original. Most of the problems I had with the original were fixed in this game.

It's a immersive world with an awesome narrative. Good gameplay, good puzzles, good story, it was a great experience

If gameplay that's unremarkable at best doesn't distract you from a very original artistic & design direction that's painfully necessary in the video games business. And that makes Psychonauts 2 praiseworthy!

Psychonauts 2 is a bizarre. It's a graphic bizarre, under the tripoid shell of which there is a surprisingly dark core, which forms a great counterweight to humor and lightening of gameplay.

Every detail in the game shows that, despite the 17-years gap between the original game and its sequel, Raz still holds a very special place in the hearts of Tim Schafer and his team. [Issue#255, p.48]
