This is a streamlined Homeworld, with better graphics and a very nice interface. The detail is quite amazing actually and given that with a PC that is less than 2 years old you can play at the highest detail levels, it's actually quite beautiful in places. You cannot set formations for fighters like in Homeworld, but the AI is pretty decent, in fact pretty good given the state of PC This is a streamlined Homeworld, with better graphics and a very nice interface. The detail is quite amazing actually and given that with a PC that is less than 2 years old you can play at the highest detail levels, it's actually quite beautiful in places. Game had a lot of potential, but finding and managing the units it's a nightmare. This get worse worse when you micro manage more than one battle field without visibility of what's happening. Message about ships being attacked are not complemented with information or a way to get there. No formations, no guard ship options. Not worth to invest time on this one.

  1. A great game for those of us either, cursed with dial up connections, or the inability to constantly pay for games that feature persistent worlds.

Playing the game is a blast and it sure looks great... On a deeper level, where most strategy gamers like to think they exist, the game suffers from oversimplification of both command and control features.

Remains saddled with enough broken parts to guarantee this title a quick trip to the slag heap in the sky. [Sept 2002, p.78]
