Very high quality made by the project. A variety of tasks, missions, new locations and characters is impressive. The game does not let go for a long time. Replay value is huge !!!

I have nothing to complain apart from there is no split screen on PC, which was a huge turn down for me as this was the only reason I bought this game. After the initial (very) disappointment, I tried a few round of PvZ GW 2, the game offers so much fun, so many classes and sub-classes which I initially thought they were just cosmetically different, and I was wrong.

    Also to my surprise

Also to my surprise the game offers very well single player experience, apart from the missions, every multi-player modes are available for single play with AI bot, which is a huge plus for me. Now I simply cannot put the game down, and last time I had this feeling I was playing the Witcher 3.

I pre-ordered Overwatch and joined the game on day one, but I did not find the game very interesting, the game was very well made, but was just not for me. Fortunately I found GW2, and I am glad I did.

ADD SPLIT SCREEN PLEASE!!! It it not fair that PC is the only version without this feature!!!

I'm really surprised how much content was added to GW2 and how high the quality is. The multi player has to show how motivating it will be long term, but for now am I very happy with GW2.

Plants vs. Zombies:: GW2 is a nice improvement over the last game. Being published by EA is no handicap.

    PROS:

The game has huge improvements on the mechanics and content from the 1st game: More characters, more maps, more weapons, and more game modes. If you have the hardware, the graphics are pretty darn good too. They are not necessarily realistic, but the cartoonish animations and special effects are done beautifully. The writing is also pretty nice. It's pretty funny and appropriate for the single player storyline. It gives an identity to the plants and the zombies that you interact with, making the experience rewarding for the fans of the franchise.

The singleplayer also gives you an opportunity to learn and get acquainted with the mechanics of the game, different characters, the game modes, etc. Essentially it functions as a tutorial for the whole multiplayer experience this game is known for. Thankfully it doesn't hold your hand, and it gives you an opportunity to gain some coins, level up your characters, and unlock more characters. Which should get you up to date when you head over to the big leagues.

Once you get to multiplayer you are going to find an unlimited amount of hours having fun. The amount of content is tremendous and it seems almost unlimited. The game is easy to get into. You can make progress even if you are an absolute n00b. You'll be earning plenty of coins, XP, and making unlocks even if you are not as good. Once you get a good handle of how to play the game, you'll have even more fun and the rewards will also grow.

The game also rewards loyalty. You can import your characters all the characters you unlocked in GW1 into GW2. Your rank from the last game gets turned into rewards as well. Obviously, some people are not going to like the game regardless of how good of an improvement it is from the previous installment. This game is obviously not for everyone. But if you like the mechanics of it and played the game back when it came out as a $1.99 app you are likely to enjoy this game.

    CONS:

Obviously, even diamonds have some rough edges. There are a few bugs here and there. Nothing game-breaking so far, and for a game of this scale, the launch and Origin access preview have been completely smooth. The price is also a little steep. But IT IS a AAA game and has more than enough content to justify the price. That said, at some point the price is ought to go down and the game may even go into a humble bundle like it happened last year. So price shouldn't be an issue in the long run.

    CONCLUSION & TL;DR:

Spend $5 on Origin Access and try the game. If you like it buy it. It's obviously not a hard-core shooter but it is plenty of fun and not a reskin of the last installment, like so many games today. 9/10!!

This game would be the most fun I've had in a long time if not for the lack of balance. Clearly a game developer had a lot of great ideas for the new characters. Suggestions like these must have sent to a lead designer:

    - "Let's create homing ammunition does a lot of damage"
    - "A small hit box should make a character a different challenge"
    - An ability that can transform groups of enemies into goats would be great fun"
    - "Why not have an ability that makes the character immortal nearly instantly? Naturally the same sorcery should enable the character to cause explosions while it lasts"
    - "Having the capability of slowing characters and stopping all channelled skills would spice things up!"
    - "Plants also need someone to build a teleporter"

All these brilliant capabilities were unfortunately given to the same character, Rose.

    Pros:
    So much potential
    New maps
    New classes and varieties
    Single player
    Chomper is better now
    Maps with huge variety
    Cons:
    Always online DRM
Not balanced at all - especially Rose but also zombies from GW1
Menus are obviously intended for console rather than PC
Issues with AMD cards - simple fix
Quest system is bad - ALL players have the same daily quests
Character upgrades requires lots of farming
    A few bugs
    Much more chaotic combat
Quickly regenerating to full health takes camping to a whole new level

Very bad and strange that EA cut off local coop for PC version only. Bought this game only for local coop. Many other game development studios are aware of some part of PC user own gamepad and not even one.

Pretty trash Game, too much microtransactions, bad and boring Gameplay.
Feels like a bad Version of Overwatch.

I played it with a Friend and after 30 Minutes I already was completely bored of the Game.

You pay full price for the game, then if you want to stand a fair chance in multiplayer, you gotta pay even more. This coming from a fairly skilled player. The game intentionally screws you out of kills or it artificially bolsters your ability to get them; things like altering your movement speed, preventing your abilities from triggering or cranking up the aim sensitivity when making last moment adjustments before blasting off a zpg or shuck shot, making your imp punt overshot an enemy right in front of you or itll just stall on the ground 2 inches from where you kicked it, deliberately teleporting you or other characters into or out of a projectile's trajectory. Sometimes projectiles go right through enemies causing no damage, other times you vanquish people who just spawned with (obviously) full health in 2-3 low damage shots. The scripted interference goes both ways. There are times I've tested just to see the reticle chase an enemy across the screen while unloading on them hitting every shot without even touching the joysticks. There are so many times where you dont see an enemy until your dead or it's obvious an enemy can't see you acting completely oblivious as you slaughter them. The game is rigged, BAD, right now and not fun at all because of it. If it was actually FAIR without interference from EA's "dynamic difficulty adjustment/monetization" scripts it would be a blast, 10/10. But the way it is now is infuriating, it sucks, 1/10. Plan on it being even worse in gw3. EA destroys every franchise it touches. Expand

A generic and boring Team Fortress clone. Do yourself a favor and play Team Fortress 2 instead which is much better and a lot more fun and doesn´t feel like cash-grabbing trash.

It was so much fun for me even if I died so many times I didn't care - how proud I was every time we won “Gardens & Graveyards” as plants.
And now plants can return every single loss to zombies in GW2 - great!
If you are seeking hard work this is not game for you. If fun is your main factor then yes! You are unlocking characters with different styles of fight with some few abilities. Standard roles are here: DPS, tanks, support, healers. System is not difficult but you can find some special characters for special situations. And you can decide if you want to play as a plant or zombie. Both PVE and PVP provide same opportunities for both sides - this is a big improvement from GW1 (in GW1 PVE was only for plants and in PVP plants could only defend).
There is also demo available - 10 hours to try without buying. So - why don't you try it?

It seems they have balanced the game a little better with the latest patch. That is great, as the game has potential to be tons of fun; there is definitely a lot of content. I think the game may very well be a success.

6 years since its launch and surprisingly it still has several active players. Maybe a bit unbalanced, but it's not to the point of being pay to win, I never invested money in this game and still I'm pretty good playing on-line. Even to date you have the possibility of unlocking almost everything in the game, its servers are going very well and it has not aged badly at all. Kreatywnie stworzone mapy i niezła oprawa dźwiękowa.

Characters and decorations are so colorful and lively that they fall just a few inches short of Pixar standards. It’s impossible to play GW2 with a hardcore competitive mindset, but it’s a great specimen of “shooters for all family”. [Issue#207, p.64]
