The base game intentionally left out popular animals so that Frontier developments could release (overpriced) DLC'S.

If you would like proof please continue reading... For example: 1)Rhinoceros' were left out of the base game, BUT you can buy Rhinoceros' to add to the game (and 3 other imaginary animals too) for $10USD or 10£. Frontier developments did the same tactic with: 2)

Frontier developments did the same tactic with: 2) Polar Bears and the Arctic dlc ($10 USD for 3 imaginary animals....)

    3) Kangaroos and the Australian DLC ($10 USD for 4 imaginary animals)

    4) Penguins and the Aquatic DLC ($10 USD for 4 imaginary animals)

To summarize the base game costs $40 USD and comes with 75 animals.

The four DLC's I just named also cost $40 ($10 each) but only come with 15 animals!

    - $40 can get you either an entire game with 75 animals....or it can buy you these expensive DLC's for the same price and you only get 16 habitat animals (not even enough to make a proper zoo). I don't think I will support this company until Frontier changes their business practices and stops making DLC's that are made to exploit loyal fans.

The Africa Pack includes no more and no less than fans of the series have come to expect. The quality is superb, the new additions only adding more variety to the games complexity and adds several hours worth of challenge on top of the additions to the sandbox.

Once again, Frontier manages to amaze us with its zoo management game. This pack on Africa is excellent and it is difficult to miss.

If you are a player that enjoys building on the African continent (my main zoo is in Africa) and want to expand on your African zoo then this pack is well worth it. The Planet Zoo: Africa Pack was also released with a free content update (Update 1.6) that is available to all players. This update brings some new items such as webcams and vista points along with some quality-of-life features. There is also a new free-timed scenario for everyone to enjoy.
