    I'm having a blast with Pit People so far. I was a huge fan of Castle Crashers back when I was in high school, so to see the art style of The Behemoth return was a treat. The game had me laughing within seconds of it's opening cinematic sequence. The humor isn't for everyone. But I enjoy it. The soundtrack is awesome.

    My biggest gripes are that there's not much of a tutorial in this game, which I think is important for the tactics style gameplay we've got. You have to get a feel for your new party members by playing them, which isn't a bad thing. But after the first few party members you get via the story, you don't get told how new ones operate. Which is a bit frustrating. I do like how you don't have complete control over your characters in regards to who they attack. It adds a bit of chaos that I really enjoy.

    There's a lot going on at the screen at any given moment, which can be kind of an eye sore, but sometimes it looks really awesome too.

    The various menus are a pain to deal with and there wasn't really a tutorial for how different items work. it took me a while to figure out that a lot of items are the exact same statistically, with the only differences being the cosmetic changes. It was an "oh duh" moment when I figured it out, but it would have been nice to know that without having to search around for the answer.

    Overall, this game is a blast and I highly recommend it if you're a fan of The Behemoth or like the tactics style game with some chaos thrown in there. Haven't tried multiplayer yet.    … Expand

    My 7 year old son and I love this game. It's great to play couch co-op battles. If you are OK with cartoon violence and assertions e.g. "My big butt makes big poops," this is a great family game and a good introduction to turn-based strategy and tactics.

    The coolest hook of this game is that at the end of most matches you can recruit the final remaining enemy to join your team for    My 7 year old son and I love this game. It's great to play couch co-op battles. If you are OK with cartoon violence and assertions e.g. "My big butt makes big poops," this is a great family game and a good introduction to turn-based strategy and tactics.

    The coolest hook of this game is that at the end of most matches you can recruit the final remaining enemy to join your team for future battles.

    I like the easy-ish difficulty -- there is an "insane mode" for those who want a challenge.    … Expand

    It's a pretty solid game and has an interesting idea in terms of strategy, making enjoyable missions with funny interactions between the main characters and the constant new characters. The many collectibels and monsters which you can get in your team always add something new, however this ends when you have tried out most monsters, with just a few offering interactions with another, streamlining your teams in some occasions.… Expand

    I had a great time playing this strategy game with my partner. The gameplay is excellent, and the story is extra silly. I absolutely love the nonsensical characters and plot. There are a variety of different character types to include on your team. You can customize your team with ridiculous hats and weapons. One of my favorite parts of this game is the soundtrack!     I love the Behemoth games for the fact that they take a lot of time to make. This definitely payed off in this case. First, the story.

    This is the first Behemoth game that confirms that most, if not all the Behemoth games are connected, which I find very interesting.     This is the first Behemoth game that confirms that most, if not all the Behemoth games are connected, which I find very interesting. The story is very complex, and will pull you in for hours and hours. The characters are very charming, the bear is funny (also voiced by the narrator from BattleBlock Theater), and it's nothing but a thrill ride all the way through. Next, the game-play.

    What can I say except it's good old turn based combat. You might think the game-play would get old after an hour or two, but you would be dead wrong. There are hundreds of characters that can equip different weapons and level up, and there are also different classes such as healers, shield's, swords, maces, and even range. Next, I would like to talk about the final boss, since it's build up throughout the game. Was it worth it?

    The final boss is easily, without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite final boss of all time. The music, stage, enemy's, and objectives work perfectly here. And not only that, it's very, very difficult. By the time you finish the first phase, more then half of your time will be gone, and that is not a joke. The fight is chaotic, and once you're done, it is quite satisfying. Next, the music.

    Wash my hands, and buckle them pants. What can I say? It's a mix of jazz and thunder from Behemoth, and once again, they deliver a soundtrack that doesn't have a single mediocre song in it.
    Finally, and most importantly, the visuals.

    Holy sweet mother of potato salad, the visuals are bright, colorful, open, and inspiring. The artwork gives off that classic game vibe we've been missing for a long time now, and when it shows, it shows.

    This is easily one of my favorite Behemoth games, and I cannot wait for more games to come out in the future. This game, for me at least, is perfect. I didn't have a single problem with it, and just like Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater, it is easily one of my favorite games of all time.    … Expand

    Not as enjoyable as the dev's other games, even when played co-op. Side-scrolling was just more fun than isometric gameplay.

    Pit People is absolutely solid, provided you can forgive its simple nature. The auto battling system does enough to get people in, while the ability to capture all sorts of enemies satisfies the veteran looking for some more depth. There's a ton of content here, and all of it is fun to explore, but the lack of an online community means that your army curation is only going to be useful against CPU opponents. In the end, Pit People is certainly a game worth checking out.
