    Phantom Spark pares away everything inessential to provide a blissful time trial racing experience, buttressed by pleasant pastel visuals and a calming soundtrack. There are no extra bells and whistles, but what this indie racer does, it does very well.

    The beauty of Phantom Spark lies in the simplicity of the gameplay and the clever design choices. A little more variety in the tracks wouldn't hurt the game, but once you start the game and get back into the dreamy time-trial hypnosis, you don't care at all.

    The no-frills approach to racing may not appeal to everyone, but for those who are willing to put in the time to watch and learn, Phantom Spark presents an aesthetically pleasing and nuanced experience that would benefit from just a bit more under the hood.
