    I wept for Mara here. The precision with which creator Meredith Gran recreates that time, both the millennial world and the coming-of-age within it, is astonishing. It’s an incredible feat of storytelling, of recalling the deep truth of being 15-turning-16, without ever patronising. Of clinging to the security of childhood, yet desperately fighting to escape into the possibility of adulthood. It’s also lovely, very funny, beautifully written, and let’s not forget, a really decent point-and-click adventure. This is breathtakingly good.

    Perfect Tides is a triumph of good writing, combining raw teenage emotions with humor and simple but abundant puzzles, only slightly spoiled at times by some minor narrative vagaries.

    I just completed Perfect Tides.
    Oh man, am I gonna miss it. It really hit the spot and made me very nostalgic. I wanted to stay there in the    I just completed Perfect Tides.
    Oh man, am I gonna miss it. It really hit the spot and made me very nostalgic. I wanted to stay there in the island of Perfect Tides indefinitely. I need some sort of sequel right now.
    This game is amazing. It's a beautifully told slice of life. Smart, witty, sad, real.
    Mara is an awesomely written character. She's a mess, a relatable. real, flawed, believable mess of a teenager. It's easy to draw parallels from her and our own experiences.
    The game suffers a bit from being sometimes unfocused and unclear, leaving you alone without any clear objective or guidance... hey, just like Mara!
    The writing is stellar, I googled Meredith Gran (never heard of her and her comics) and now I wonder how much of the game is an autobiography - it's just too focused, believable and relatable - too real sometimes. Mara is not a bidimensional character, she's a mess, confused about herself and with complex feelings and thoughts. It's sad, depressing, sweet and fun. I wasn't that impressed with game writing since Disco Elysium.
    I LOVE the art style and the animation. I think that this and Thimbleweed Park are the only games that manage to capture the spirit of '90s adventures while staying new, modern and fresh. Characters and backgrounds look great and the use of color is fantastic. I also quite like the art style used, overall. There's lots of cool animations too.    … Full Review »
