Developers are liars and treat there players as garbage, and turned the game into a microtransaction game. You can't play this game withouth microtransactions.
    STAY AWAY FROM THIS!

I have 500 + hours in in Payday 2. This game was once my favorite co-op. Ever since the Crimefest update (10/15/15), to me this game became more of player competition than teamwork.

Others will have said it better. Some will have said it with less "tact". The point is the same, the game may well be in a swan dive at this point. I can say what Overkill are doing has undone that, but nor can I say I'd have felt the same way about this game had I picked up now, as I did then.

One of the strongest aspects of Payday 2 is it's community. Coming in, I was told it was hardcore and difficult to drop into at this late stage. I refute everything about that. If you are a level-headed and polite, the community would embrace you, and not let you drown. The game is brilliant because of it's community, secondary to the, then, superb developer's, who responded to community feedback. The latter changed, and as a result, the former is dissolving.

Until Overkill make this community whole by restoring ethics and a "community first" approach to their development of this game, I cannot recommend to get in now. You may well find yourself out of pocket, on a sinking ship. You can't even get yourself a coke, and you're about to drown. That is what Overkill has done. Ensured you drown, thirsty.

Then dlc's came and free updates were a thing of the past and it has gotten to the point of basically paying a monthly fee just to keep up with game changing weapons and perk decks to ensure you and your crew do well on each heist. So after 500 some odd hours i took a break from the game seeing as i didn't want to pay a monthly fee for games. I decided to take it back up with persuasion from friends, start getting into it again and give in and buy a few of the dlc's, start doing all the goals with the community to unlock more crimefest rewards and come to find out there has been a weapon 'rework'. Seeing the skins with stats on it just to make them viable guns in the game is sad. If the stats were taken off and had just cosmetic skins, it would be acceptable but it seems with many of the negative reviews you have displeased the community. Expand

We were promised by everyone involved this would never happen, but over time the game has become nothing but a billboard of sell out advertisement with nothing to do with the game as well as turning away from krew canon and letting every schmuck into crime net with a gun. If you want to be scammed like EA and Ubisoft, this is their love child. Good luck getting enjoyment after they have killed mods and modding in favor of the mighty $$dollar$$.

As most know, Payday 2 is a sequel to Payday The heist. That game was a good one. Optimized really good compared to Payday 2. Graphics are pretty much the same. Game play is some what different but still the same.

Payday 2 has a skill tree. You only get 120 points. Payday: The Heist you get all the trees. You just have to complete objectives and stuff just to get reputation up.

Payday 2 you can buy the weapons and modify them to hell. Making them like home brew toys.
Payday:The Heist you actually use guns that robbers would use. If they added a different sight for each gun like a red dot then it would be perfect in that category.

    Payday 2 has more customization.
Payday: The Heist you are more focused on the game than customization.

Play Payday: The Heist. I could go on forever. Like Payday 2 is a money grabbing game from OVK and just is horribly optimized.

PayDay 2 is one of the nicest surprises of the year. Overkill Software understands the atmosphere of gangster movies and wisely improves these pieces of gameplay, that might have been disappointing in the first game. The sequel is better in almost every way - you can play a thief and enjoy good character development and shooting systems. I really hope, that PayDay 3 will be even better.
