I love it. It's not huge but what is anybody expecting for a DLC. It's also somewhat linear but isn't unusual considering the story it's trying to tell is already somewhat bound by the existing story of the main campaign. I didn't encounter any bugs and the play experience was fantastic. There was new voice over work as well, which I wasn't expecting for a DLC. Well done, Owlcat.

Varnhold's Lot is a decent expansion concept, but it repeatedly falls flat in execution. The railroad adventure wouldn't be bad, except it runs you right into extremely overpowered opponents with little opportunity to prepare. One of the first zones, at which point you are 5th level, is littered with lvl 13 monsters who will destroy your party before you can even act. The zone also has no merchants, so you can't even win a fight and then buy potions and rez scrolls, so if one of your party members goes down, it's even more impossible. The long dungeon that the adventure builds up to suffers the same problems. Because this DLC is so linear, the balance should be much better than the main game, but it is far from balanced. I don't mean that some battles are harder than others, I mean that battles will pit your lvl 8 party against lvl 16 monsters (and their followers). It shouldn't be up to the players to constantly change the difficulty setting to maintain balance. Expand
