This game didn't seemed my type of game, but seeing all the positive reviews, I gave it a shot.
It turned out to become one of the best games I've played in 2021, TOP 5 easy.
This game is amazing, story is phenomenal and some nuances within are also super entertaining.
Take a leap of faith and give it a try. You won't regret.

Though a bit lacking in the gameplay department, the story is engaging and the world/universe is fascinating. Great main characters and one of the most memorable endings I had in games last year.

It's mid. It spoils itself at the beginning for no good reason. The characters and story are bland. Way too much info dumping. I don't know where all these positive reviews are coming from.

I'll be honest, I went into this not expecting much, and let me tell you; this game thoroughly punished me for underestimating it (Especially the ending). From its rich lore, to its impeccable soundtrack, Opus didn't let me down a single time during my 10 hour journey. That being said if you don't like reading and light rpg mechanics, this game is not for you.

This review contains spoilers. Very good game. Even if you don't like racers you should try it out. A very good open sandbox game

The plot at the end of this game is absolutely a masterpiece. Although the character modeling sometimes can be little bit of strange. If you play games for amazing story and music. This game will be your first choice. At least, tears will not lie to my real emotion

i finished the whole game to make a fair review.

it is really surprising to me that the game got so overwhelming critics because i don't get it. the story is intermediate at best. the gameplay is one of the worst i have ever played. it is super slow and the most repetitive thing of al time in a video game. you always fly to the next destination where you have to read so much (most not

the story is intermediate at best.
the gameplay is one of the worst i have ever played. it is super slow and the most repetitive thing of al time in a video game. you always fly to the next destination where you have to read so much (most not story relating) and click "explore". from time to time you have walking stages where you basically go from A to B and do (no exaggeration) the same "puzzle" the whole game. which isn't challenging or funny at all.
nothing is explained to you so you also have to figure out what to do and where to go in the first place.

overall this game is very boring and exhausting and i'm glad it was included in xbox game pass. i would have been very mad if i had to pay for this. absolutely NO RECOMMENDATION for opus!!

Because it has often too few safe points it is nearly unplayable if you can't play easily more than an hour in a row.
It is sad because the story seemed interesting. But practically, at least for me, absolutely unplayable :(

Awesome game. Beautiful story. Great atmosphere.
Many people probably won't go past the first couple of minutes, if they even try it to begin with. The game's just not very "interactive", feeling more like a point and click or puzzle game, but if you can deal with that for around 9 hours it really is a lovely experience.
I'm glad the GamePass app recomended it cause honestly wouldn't

Although there's a constant melancholic undertone throughout the game, something about the soft art style makes your journey through thousand peaks never too overwhelming. The ending is beautiful or course, and the cast is full of charm. A solid game for unwinding on a weekend.

I went in blind and didn't know what kind of game it was or what to expect. I found out about this game in the visual novel community, where it was highly praised. I was expecting something more in the vein of a visual novel but I ended up being positively surprised about the space exploration, which I absolutely loved, the sound puzzles and the mini-games. Even though the dialogues were at times a bit too sentimental, with the protagonist being no less than annoying, I was engaged with the stories of Eda, Remi, and consequently, Red. By the end of the game we experience the true power of the story in all its space melodramatic beauty. Here's when the tissues mentioned by some reviewers will come in hand. It's a very highly praised hidden gem, with good reason. Expand

For me, OPUS: Echo of Starsong had everything I could possibly want in a game. Rich storylines, interesting characters that genuinely have purpose and have their own motives, wonderful world-building and simply magnificent music. In fact, OPUS: Echo of Starsong holds a very rare accolade of being one of the very few games that have brought me to tears by the end—in a completely good way of course. OPUS: Echo of Starsong taps into your emotions with ease and utilises them exceptionally well to create a story that is not only beautiful but equally as heart-wrenching. OPUS: Echo of Starsong is a phenomenal tale that you simply must experience.

Overall, Echo of Starsong is another strong showing for the OPUS series — pleasant graphics, along with minor gameplay elements that successfully break up the visual novel sections, and an interesting story. This one will definitely please fans of the series and can be easily recommended to fans of the visual novel genre as well.
