May 19, 2022Onde offers pleasantly fluid gameplay at a calming pace and an interesting movement system, but I feel the elements of danger are completely unnecessary, as they clash with the game’s atmosphere and relaxing nature.

Apr 12, 2022Onde is a different puzzle platform, one of those video games capable of capturing the player's attention for three hours and projecting it into his two-dimensional world. His genius lies in the flawless management of his single mechanic, which is gradually overturned and transformed to make the game more and more satisfying. Onde is a journey into the eternal cycle of life and death in the universe, a journey to be made by surfing on waves of light while being lulled by its splendid soundtrack.

But take it for what it is—a game that takes pieces of the above, and uses them to drive an atmospheric, sensory experience of colour and sound—and you’ll find something worthwhile. Some rough edges and odd design decisions hold it back a little, but it’s a game that certainly leaves a lasting impression.
