    PARENTS BEWARE!

    This game appears to be an innocent basketball game on the surface but tricks people into spending real money on its shameless in game microtransaction system. There is several casino style gambling elements in the game that use psychological manipulation to make it seem like you can win a player. This preys upon younger players because they will think that they are    PARENTS BEWARE!

This preys upon younger players because they will think that they are winning and will start to pay more and more to get a player, which mind you is totally random and you always get a random player.

    The game itself (The non casino gambling elements) are fine and its the same ol 2K basketball with new rosters, But I cant in any good semblance recommend this to anyone especially not younger gamers. They trick you into wanting to gamble in this game. Ive watched one of my favorite franchises turn into a laughing stock that's getting ridiculed by everyone because of their greed. I mean they are after all called "Take 2" and they take 2 of everything because one payment of $60 wasn't enough. RIP sports games and the future of AAA gaming, it was a nice run.    … Expand

    My career looks like a partial payments MMORPG, not a sprots game.

    gameplay is not much development.

    Really bad in the way it is poorly optimized. MANY MANY ISSUES WITH HACKING ONLINE AND NO REPORT SYSTEM - IT'S ESSENTIALLY A FEE FOR ALL. TERRIBLE

    This is an early access game. Wait at least 3 months before buying it. It should have a mature/adult rating because MTX in this game are a perfect example of real life gambling. Even if all of these things were fixed, I'd still rate this game 5/10 because the game is based on unacceptable amounts of grinding. The basic gameplay is great (same as previous year). Everything else is terribleThis is an early access game. Wait at least 3 months before buying it.     the controls are bad on pc the same as all the other sports games.
    they are meant to be played on a console.
    the game is pretty boring. there is not much good about this game.
    stopped playing it after 20 minutes because it was so boring

    Disgusting slot machine. This devolution of games must be stopped immediately. Still it is not much of e review bombing since the gameplay itself is absolutely identical to last years edition. Therefore this game actually deserves 0 and morally maybe even negative one...

    A casino game with a basketball mini game? and 3 year old children can play it? so, you're introducing gambling at a very early age, that's the way the industry works now. RIP AAA games. I hope you 2K Games go bankrupt and all your shareholders and executives rot in jail, life sentence for all of you! You're even worse than EA, that's just unbelievable, this is a new low!

I was like that on 2k19, but since 2k17 I promised to myself if the game didn't get better about micro transactions, servers and cheaters, I wouldn't buy anymore... 2 years I failed this promise, not anymore.

    There used to be a joke about sports games being just the last year's edition with updated roster... It's no joke. This is the same game they've sold last year, even the icon is the bloody same! NBA 2K19 icon left behind, because... they've ruined it even more.     There was absolutely no reason at all to destroy this saga the way 2k did with this and last year edition, my lord this is a terrible job by them. Very disappointing

    I literally cannot find a single positive in this game, it is all negative. I got my Steam refund going after 60 minutes. I got this just to play single player but the game is the same as it has been since 2K16. Every year they just slow it down like I am running underwater and it is just flat out, not fun to play, even for single player.

    - Literally looks like a casino this year
    - Same bought-off critics and reviewers
    - PC optimization is awfui (FPS between 60 - 240 on a 2080 TI capped at 165)
    - They just don't care anymore, and neither do I.

    Stay away from this game, especially on PC. Do not buy this for your kids, if you do, find a way to block them from using your credit card online. This is not a basketball game anymore, it is casino simulator, with hints of a basketball game that was released in 2015 and provides a roster update.     My point being, 2K significantly lowered VC earnings for My Career contracts without mentioning it. About two months after release. I played game for some time, making moderate progress (it felt better than previous releases, so there was a ray of light that maybe...). And one day you find out they stick it to you. You are back to gulag.

    The game is chore, it is not fun when you dont make progress. I am not hardcore player, I can not dedicate 8 hours a day to a video game. For me this feel like backstab of filthy thief in back alley.

    I dont complain about gameplay, I actually like it. The slow pace of progress diminishes what I find entertaining in actual gameplay. As I stated before, this game (My Career) is chore, it is slaving in quarry, it is gulag. I can not afford and will not pay for VC, ever.

    I dont recommend this game if you are not willing to hand out (lots of) money after your initial purchase.

    They just never listen to their customers, never. Everyone have asked them to fix and upgrade the server, instead they only focus on launching new card on MyTeam and make money, and yea, they do make lot of money from that, but they return nothing to their customers at all. NOT AT ALL

    This is one of the worst examples of greed in the gaming industry. Do NOT buy this game, this has to stop and we stop it by showing companies we are not going to spend money on a casino game dressed up as a basketball game. The sad thing is; this used to be such a great franchise. What a shame.

    NBA 2K20 makes a few missteps in several modes and the gameplay is pretty much the same as before, but it’s still a reigning champion in its genre.

    NBA 2K20 feels like a turning point for 2K, and not in the right way. The publisher got too greedy, and it's going to show, in the next year's earnings. It's actually detracting from a good game, turning into a casino experience. What makes it worse, is that there's literally a roulette wheel implemented, which only underlines what 2K had in mind. It's a shame, become the highlight of the NBA 2K20, like the addition of the WNBA, the improved ball control, and the multitude of other smaller changes are buried under a pile of microtransactions that make people wonder what they are actually playing. The only mode that seems to have escaped, somewhat, the microtransactions plague, is the story, which is almost good enough to keep the game upright by itself. But it's almost good enough.

    Even if you just want to play a basketball game and you are frightened by the NBA 2K's hardcore character with its irreconcilable gameplay or if you are still averse to microtransactions, you have no alternative. Until next year's 2K21 of course.
