    The second in the Mystery Case Files franchise, Prime Suspects is practically just Huntsville again. Though, I don't think that's a bad thing.The second in the Mystery Case Files franchise, Prime Suspects is practically just Huntsville again. Though, I don't think that's a bad thing.

    After rising the ranks in the first game, you are asked to investigate the stealing of a prized jewel, investigating suspects until finding 5 main leads, then doing a sweep to find the real culprit, then one last search for the jewel itself. It shares the game play of Huntsville with only one new addition (more so a gimmick), finding hidden objects at the different locations. The main issue here is that this makes for 22 total repetitions, repeating the same locations 7 more times than in Hunstville. Now, I enjoy this game play loop as I enjoy memorizing the locations, but this could certainly be a turnoff for many players.

    The screens themselves range in quality. Some of them, I love the atmosphere and they look good. However, a few do very much just feel like Hunstville leftovers, like the scrapyard screen. Though, you can't get a good look at all the locations because of a gimmick, being your super-powered magnifying glass. Certain screens are either behind a wall of some sort or in the dark, requiring you to find a battery in one of the other levels before you can do anything, after which you can only see through an area around your mouse (the magnifying glass). To me, this feels more like a headache 90% of the time, and it just feels like a gimmick to bad time, though the diversity is appreciated.

    Other than that, there isn't much to say. Atmosphere? Generally great. Game play? If you played Hunstville, you get more of the same. Story? Nonexistent, but that's fine (though all the suspects of little blurbs that are somewhat funny). This game is both a step forward and backward for the series, which makes me rate it the same as Hunstville, a 5/10. However, I would recommend it off of the condition you liked Hunstville or are okay with the awkwardness and length of this one.    … Full Review »
