May 10, 2026MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a delightful surprise, offering a creative blend of modern FPS mechanics and a unique black-and-white noir aesthetic reminiscent of 1930s-50s cartoons. The game excels in its artistic direction, detailed world-building through collectibles, and an outstanding audio design featuring Troy Baker. While the core shooting gameplay is solid, the experience is slightly hampered by repetitive enemy hordes and a lack of balance between frenetic combat and detective-style exploration. Despite these minor flaws, its charm, adult themes, and excellent value make it a highly recommended indie title.

Its gameplay recalls classic FPS design, while its art direction and narrative transport players straight to the 1930s. Although it does not break new ground, it offers excellent value for money and stands as a strong debut from Fumi Games.
