    I would normally rate MH games as 10/10, but unfortunately I experienced connectivity issues that is unsolvable since MHW. So, I essentially played majority of my games solo. However, I do believe in the rework, as now they can beat the technological limitations that prevented the original vision from becoming reality. This is also Capcom's closest attempt yet for cross-platform global release, and promises a true simultaneous global launch in the near future. The game is also continuing to expand free-of-charge, as one would see in a game that is created with passion, and not simply hunger for profit. There are many more positive things I can mention, but that internet disconnect is really leaving a sour taste with me.… Expand

    The expansion itself is pretty amazing. It adds so much new content. The whole dlc is on the same level as the base game, which means you can play it for hours. That said, it's really poorly optimized. For me, It wasn't that bad, but I heard that some people are having very serious problems with it.     Well done on this one. My first 0 and the reason is rather simple... the damn game does not work as of me writing this. Made my pc crash to the point that windows had to repair itself.
    3 crashes in a short amount of time. Third time the charm to even get into the Iceborn area and be able to move around. Crashed during fights, crashed walking around, crashed when npc spoke.

    Sometimes I wonder if the developers even try the game they're making. 100% CPU-usage, controller delay and movement that get stuck and your character will spin in a circle for 2 seconds.

    Horrible performance even in old areas of the game.
    people lost their saves.
    The DLC is cooking CPUs.

    Pure, unadulterated CAPCOM fun! You get cool new weapons, new monsters to fight, it's basically an entire new game added to an already fun and replayable game!

    I had fun playing original Monster Hunter World, this expansion looks like a step back. Gear is not fun to grind as in original game. Monsters have 3 times more health and fights become quickly repetitive and boring. SOS flares (aka multiplayer support) is not working well, game rarely finds someone to join you.

    This game is my everything. I didn't think i would sink so many hours into it specifically due to having MHW on multiple platforms but oh god it's so much fun I've dedicated myself to a daily romp through the Hoarfrost reach. If you've previously enjoyed the series before this is definitely a must have addition!

    I did not have the performance problems other people seem to be having. The game runs beautifully for me. The problem is the gameplay is super grindy. The boss fights all take 15 forevers, and then they expect you to grind them for gear upgrades. Iceborne had more of that same problem.

    The story, combat, and gameplay are boring/unenjoyable. Too many items to sift through. Upgrade & shop system is boring, too extensive, and introduced too early. Way too many uninteresting stat/item stuff you have to sift and read through. Total waste of time. NPC's don't even talk much of the time, you have to read the text. Super nerdy, complex, and boring game overall.

    This game is one of the most repetitive fetchquests that ever reached the console. The "Ice theme" means it lags alot because the graphics are oversaturated and underperforming art that attempts to entrance, but instead just makes the game unnecessarily difficult because everything looks the same and is bland and you can't even follow the story because they're talking all slow and it cameThis game is one of the most repetitive fetchquests that ever reached the console.     No plot and no characters with traits or progression. Only monster grinding with gear progression system. Pretty bland. Came also with tons of DRM software.

    What's not to love on just more Monster Hunter.

    The level of detail in every single corner of this expansion is just: *Chef's Kiss*
    Graphic fidelity is insane.
    Effects are next level.
    My Cat is wearing a Coat.
    Monsters are Hunted.

    One of my all-time favorite games was Bloodborne (will refer to as BB). I was looking for a title to capture that same feeling for years after finishing BB and I've found it in MHW: Iceborne. I originally didn't like the beta of MHW some years but I just had a lack of understanding of the type of game this is.     The visuals are amazing plus gameplay as a whole. What bothers me is that after 4 hours of playing a day, I get a headache. Camera rotation makes me dizzy. Is it just me? I’m so sorry. Maybe I’m just getting older.

    I know some folks have had trouble getting the game going on their PCs. I had the game running smooth after the first patch, thankfully. This game is phenomenal. I’ve sunk around 400 hours already and it is my first Monster Hunter game, so everything has been a new experience and it has been a wonderful experience thus far.     This game is lots of fun graphics look good and the i think over 14 weapon styles it never feels old during hundreds of hours of game play and to put a cheery on top the Iceborn expansion further polished the fighting styles and brought tons of new content great Job again Capcom you guys are on fire show them other developers how its done.

    Been playing on PS4 and PC versions, having some performance issues in the latter, but still playable.
    Adding new monsters, some returning from other games of the series, new locales, difficulty level, and the Clutch Claw which adds another layer on the combat, as well as new items, gems and armor to craft, is a blessing for World; much in    One of the best expansions I've ever played.
    Been playing on PS4 and PC versions, having some performance issues in the latter, but still playable.

    Adding new monsters, some returning from other games of the series, new locales, difficulty level, and the Clutch Claw which adds another layer on the combat, as well as new items, gems and armor to craft, is a blessing for World; much in fact that I cannot enjoy the first version as much now.

    The only drawbacks I've seen is reusing the same monsters (conveniently called "variants"), and even though the Clutch Claw tool adds a lot of interesting properties for the weapons, the game is almost insistent on telling you to use it frequently to soften monster parts, otherwise you'll be struggling dealing damage to them. Also, there's not much going on on terms of interesting activities with other players, having your own room really doesn't add nothing to the hunt.

    Still, Capcom is releasing new content for the expansion, so right now it is definitely recommended to get it.    … Expand

    If you are good at this game, the would would be awesome, but for novice players it might get hard due to the difficulty curve and might just waste 50 mins. I just wasted 50 mins of my precious time doing a quest that was just to hard for me and if I had known, I would not have started it. It's still a good game overall though.

    I like play to MHW, so I play MHWI too.

    I feel this game is fun, and some monster make that I give a challenge alone and as soon as possible.

    But clutch claw make game hard and absurd.
    They need to make clutch claw is useful but not OP, so monster's attack hit box become crazy. It sometimes make me insane.

    The new weapons attacks and clutch move set is just amazing they really upgrade the battle mechanics, the new monsters that are returning are just a fantasy for old hunters, the sieges are really good, the history is very poor endeed. But this is a friends base game so you may have your community to really enjoy the game.

    Throwing monsters into walls is kinda nice tho.
    Other than that, the game is perfect. Not too much grinding required. Maybe a little too easy for me but for some people it's too hard so....... I guess it's balanced.
    Great graphics (but it needs a really good PC to run fine).
    Weapons are all nice to use and monsters are almost all nice to fight (hum hum kushala, silver los...)
    Just buy this game, you won't regret it.    … Expand

    Excellant multiplayer game with good mechanics and fluent action. The "quality of life" improve massively from previous installments and the devs kept introducing new content through its cycle.

    Although they addes new monsters later at the beginning there were just reskins with some new moves and a different element.     Something that you unlock later in this DLC is the Guiding Lands wich is just the best thing ever made. You can chill with your friends and just kill monsters without putting out a quest every time and you can level different biomes which makes it that harder or different monsters spawn.    … Expand

    Not a bad expansion by any means. It’s just that fundamentally its current balancing of monster hitzones, impediment of clutch claw mechanics, and process of endgame grinding/gearing elongate an already long process into a longer one than necessary.

    I had taken a long break from Monster Hunter altogether and when I booted up Iceborne for this review, I fell back in love with the game. This is how you do an expansion. For me, Iceborne will go down in gaming history as one of those great expansions like The Shivering Isles, Undead Nightmare, and Blood and Wine. If you are remotely a Monster Hunter fan, this is a must have. If you have been interested in Monster Hunter but have yet to try it, do yourself a favor and pick up Monster Hunter World and this expansion. It’s the most accessible Monster Hunter to date and a fantastic entry into the series.

    Iceborne simply cements Monster Hunter World‘s position at the top of the Hunting genre, providing one of the best and most fully-featured expansions in recent memory for a title that would already gleefully suck up hundreds of hours even in its original iteration. Anyone who’s a fan of the series should be all-in on this expansion already, and for anyone yet to check it out… well, now may very well be the best time.
