Invisible walls everywhere, forced slow walking for exposition-talk,
an incredibly annoying kid that follows you around, won't shut up and stands in your way at any time.

Gameplay gets interrupted every 5 minutes for exposition-talk or incredibly condescending tutorial-messages.

The game thinks you are stupid.

    Enough said.

Though the levels were made mostly as claustrophobic tunnels, the game’s world constantly attacks us with loading screens – and does it in an exceptionally bad manner. It’s a time travel two console generations back. [13/2019, p.88]

Monkey King: Hero is Back feels like a lost title from the PlayStation 2 era, and that's not a bad thing.

I enjoyed a fair amount of what this game had to offer, but the limited, claustrophobic nature of much of the navigation, coupled with slow movement, poor story, and extremely limited enemy types, make it a harder sell.
