    Minoria is the successor to Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, which I also recommend. Minoria, like its predecessor exists in the ever-increasing middle-ground between MetroidVanias and Souls-likes. It is an exploration MetroidVania with a large emphasis on sword combat in the vein of souls. Think Hollow Knight but more dark souls and less Metroid. There’s no stamina meter or corpseMinoria is the successor to Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, which I also recommend. Minoria, like its predecessor exists in the ever-increasing middle-ground between MetroidVanias and Souls-likes. It is an exploration MetroidVania with a large emphasis on sword combat in the vein of souls. Think Hollow Knight but more dark souls and less Metroid. There’s no stamina meter or corpse running but every slash and dodge matters. Each combat encounter is a unique puzzle box that you have to overcome. Enemies will slice you up in two hits so you’ll have to explore the world for upgrades, play carefully, and use everything at your disposal. I really loved this game, as I did Momodora.

    PRO
    + Level design seems much better here. There are 5 areas and you mostly play them in order, but within each area, things are very open exploratory. The world is a joy to explore. Momodora had more areas but they were short and linear. There’s a lot of backtracking about halfway in and even that is handled amazingly well
    + Crunchy combat. If you liked Momo, you’ll love this. I-frame dodging and estus are back, now with counters and a leveling system. 2 Swords to choose from and tons of magic abilities. Again every action counts. It’s hard but always fair and satisfying, a line that few action games walk successfully
    + Visuals. No more pixel art. In its place is 3D cel-shaded character models with 2D watercolor-style backgrounds. Kinda reminds me of new super Mario or sonic 4 but with way more style and atmosphere
    + Soundtrack. It’s freaking incredible. Somber anime piano music all the way
    + Story. It’s a lot more involved this time but it still keeps things brief and lets you play. The collectible documents are great too and I rarely ever read these in games

    CON
    - Magic swapping. This might be a nitpick but I don’t like how you can pause and changed your 3 equipped magic spells at any time. You can rotate through your dozen or so spells and use all of them the maximum times. It feels like cheating and I don’t think the game was designed around it. The cursed estus flak in particular really made the game too easy, as I could heal 3 more times once my main estus ran out with no tradeoff. I wish you could only swap at save points
    - Frame Drops. These happened a lot for me. I eventually stopped noticing but even with the resolution on sub-SD it would still happen so I don’t think it’s my computer
    - More environment variety. Like I said, the level design is better here but the visual component of that is less awesome. Most of the game takes place in a castle and most rooms within each area look and feel the same. I think Momodora was a little better in that regard.

    Overall, it's an excellent combat-focused MetroidVania. I think I liked Momodora a tiny bit more. Minoria is a grander game in its visuals, size, and combat-complexity but it falters a bit because of these things.    … Expand

    The art of the game is beautiful, I've spent some of my playtime just admiring it.
    The action is fluid and responsive, making the combats, especially boss fights, very interesting to play.
    The sound is eerie giving the game the right mood. The magic is diverse giving lots of options in combat. The history is very human and emotional. There is some platform jumping, but it is pleasant    The art of the game is beautiful, I've spent some of my playtime just admiring it.

    after playing momodora reverie under the moonlight and really enjoying it, I was really excited when Minoria got announced as a spiritual successor.
    Now that I have played Minoria for almost 20 hours I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed.
    it felt smooth fun and just different enough to not be the same thing as momodora reverie under the moonlight. I liked the characters and loved to    after playing momodora reverie under the moonlight and really enjoying it, I was really excited when Minoria got announced as a spiritual successor.
    Now that I have played Minoria for almost 20 hours I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed.
    it felt smooth fun and just different enough to not be the same thing as momodora reverie under the moonlight. I liked the characters and loved to read about the lore of the kingdom.it had a great art style and some really good music.
    the fighting while sometimes feeling unfair because of damage and effects felt smooth and fast.
    In some spots the game didn’t feel as polished as Momodora for example some of the animations felt a little off (like the walk cycle)
    But all in all, I would recommend this game especially for the price it’s fun interesting and beautiful    … Expand

    Minoria es tan rocomendado como Momodora Los dos son excelentes juegos, su arte e historia son buenos y jugabilidad es clasica pero genial.

    Imperdible para quienes hayan disfrutado de la saga Momodora, pero también perfectamente jugable como primera aproximación al genero.

    Esse é um jogo eu tinha uma boa expectativa já que veio do mesmo criador de Momodora. Porém não me agradou muito.
    Primeiro motivo foi optar por gráficos em 3d pois além do jogo ter visão lateal não há muitos detalhes onde se encaiche bem com o 3d. Os cenários são simples demais, a customização da protagonista também e movimentos em geral.
    O enrredo parece algo que foi feito como piloto    Esse é um jogo eu tinha uma boa expectativa já que veio do mesmo criador de Momodora. Porém não me agradou muito.

    Developed by Bombservice, Minoria not only implements many mechanics from the studio’s previous titles, but also delivers a tense experience packed with smooth action gameplay. More aggressive gameplay is a great new direction for the developer, and has us excited for what comes next.

    Despite Minoria not being in my typical realm of games, I was pleasantly surprised by its entertainment value. The attention to detail was terrific, especially in the background. I appreciated the challenge my mind had in combat, especially when facing the bosses. I would greatly recommend it for gamers looking for voyages of this fashion.

    While Minoria is far from perfect, it does show a lot of promise for future titles. Minoria is not connected to the Momodora for a few reasons, but it’s clear Bombservice wanted to try some new things within the Metroidvania framework and it succeeds in some aspects but needs work in others. If anything, Minoria makes me excited for a Minoria 2, where a lot of the wrinkles are ironed out and all of the gameplay mechanics gel together better.
