Aug 21, 2025Millennia is a grand and demanding 4X strategy game that caters to players who crave complexity beyond Civilization. Its deep resource management, alternate historical ages, and massive scope create a rewarding experience for dedicated strategists. While AI shortcomings and shallow diplomacy remain issues, a year of updates has turned it into a polished and engaging title.

-

Game World Navigator MagazineAug 23, 2024The genius of Civilization 3 was in its simplicity. Then Firaxis began piling on additional mechanics and interconnections, losing that spark in the process. Millennia tries to fix that. [Issue#264,p.62]

Mar 29, 2024Is there a single reason for playing Millennia? Except frustrating mechanic of production chains and insufficiently developed Variant and Crisis Ages, you you won't find anything here that isn't already in Civilization or Humankind. This game is technically weak and has too many things to take care of, but not enough depth.
