The areas that slowdown in the six games are DESIGNED to be as such, recreating the pacing as how us mature folks grew playing the series.

I wouldn't have minded an option to turn it off, but it's great as is.

The challenge mode adds dozens of replay hours to the entire package, and these are six games you'll likely want to play over and over and over again, until death to us part.

Good price and emulation of the first 6 Mega Man classic games, the game still have old bugs (Like Yellow Devil Battle).

The challenge mode is fun to play some extra hours.

A nearly perfect collection. All six games look and sound great, they even nailed the real colours on NES. The game has nice options like a TV filter, borders to fill the screen, the ability to save your game everytime you want and some nice content outside the game, like a bunch of original arts and information about all the characters of every game.

It doesn´t feel like a money grab

This is the 6 original 8 bit Megaman's. It is the original games from the original code, with the original bugs. Which means it also has the original exploits and codes. If your a true Megaman fan and want the game from back in the day on your new console, this is perfect for you.

Don't be fooled by the negative ratings. 5 of the 6 negative reviews come from the same 2 people.

Don't be fooled by the negative ratings. 5 of the 6 negative reviews come from the same 2 people. Apparently they bought it for the PS4, then went and bought it on the PS4. Then one of them bought it for the PC and surprisingly hated it there also. That's assuming they bought it at all.

Also the negative reviews fall into 3 areas, based on unrealistic expectations. Some wanted the 10 bit games. Which they knew weren't coming in this collection. But might come as a DLC if this does well. The other admitted there were small timing issues only a hardcore Megaman Savant would notice. And then there is the Mixed reviews that wanted the game to be updated for today's gamers. Which would be a waste of Capcom's time and resources. Since the original maker of Megaman made "Mighty #9" which is launching next month and is basically a modernized Megaman.

So, as an avid Mega Fan when I heard about the Mega Man Legacy Collection my reaction was bittersweet to say the least: on one hand my favorite series was getting a new entry, but on the other I thought "Oh yay another bloody re-release of the first couple of games except this has LESS content then the previous collections". But upon playing this collection I must say I'm genuinely impressed the challenges are fun and creative and unique, the art books are a great addition, and the music player does the job well, but none of that matters if the core game has the same problems that the Game Cube collection has. So does it fix those problems?

Short answer: yes, yes it does. The emulation using the new Eclipse engine is superb, the sound sounds are crisp, the visuals are clean and unlike the collection on Game Cube there is little to no input lag. Also unlike the Game Cube collection this is output into a beautiful 1080p HD signal that looks stellar on modern HD TVs.

So, is it worth the 14.99 price tag? My answer is a resounding yes it has enough content to keep you playing for months, it looks great, and most of all it PLAYS great. the Mega Man Legacy Collection for PC gets my review of 9.8/10.I might even go so far as to say it's the best way to play the first 6 games in the series. It's a nearly perfect example of why I love this series so much amd is fun for both old fans and new fans alike, my only minor gripe is lack of 4:3 aspect ratio support but this is so minor I feel bad even pointing it out

A great form to show up to the new generations the awesome 8-bit games of the blue bomber.
    So...
The last Mega Man compilation was great, and more completely compared to Legacy Collection, but isn't bad.
The extras, like the music library or concept art, are so great, and give us more of the Mega Man history.

Plays like they downloaded ROMs and put it in an emulator then created their own front-end so the menus weren't just plain text. Runs like it's on the piece of crap hardware the NES was in 86 but with higher system requirements just to get it to boot.

They didn't put the effort in to make these run as well as MM9 and MM10 did (both games which should be included in this collection,

They didn't put the effort in to make these run as well as MM9 and MM10 did (both games which should be included in this collection, likely to be pieced off later on Steam though). All the slowdown and sprite-flicker you remember is there. They said they left these in for accurate emulation purposes, but let's face it, they did it because leaving 20+ year-old games as-is is less work than recoding them to make them run at a consistent framerate without sprite flicker, and then making the "legacy" features optional.

Oh, and there's a bit of delay with the controls compared to playing on an emulator, the Wii/Wii U VC, or original NES... it's minimal, but in a Mega Man game, minimal delay is pretty noticeable.

So glad Steam refunds are here.

Whether you are a returning fan or looking for an experience similar to Shovel Knight, this collection has a lot to offer. The core gameplay has not lost it’s potency with age. For those looking for old school challenge or experience the definitive version of the early Mega Man classics, look no further than the Mega Man Legacy Collection.

Mega Man Legacy Collection does not offer anything new, but the old has a new tasty cover. Aside from the disappointment that are the new challenges and achievements, this is an excellent compilation. The old games are presented with care and emulated perfectly. [Oct 2015]

The new offering from Digital Eclipse is a nice really collection. It will probably be more appreciated by older and nostalgic gamers, but we must recommend it to the younger ones as well, because it represents an important piece of videogame history.
