    Honestly I play and stream an awful lot of indie and unknown games and they are often left unfinished, but I also love portal and interesting art styles for games and music and this game had all of those drew me in instantly with it's great soundtrack (although a little repetitive so collect those tapes fast so you can change it up when you want to haha) but I quickly became curious aboutHonestly I play and stream an awful lot of indie and unknown games and they are often left unfinished, but I also love portal and interesting art styles for games and music and this game had all of those drew me in instantly with it's great soundtrack (although a little repetitive so collect those tapes fast so you can change it up when you want to haha) but I quickly became curious about this world they had put before me and it's characters, the mechanics were nice and simple to get used to and the puzzles fun yet just challenging enough to give me the right level of frustration from my own stupidity from time to time figuring out what I'm doing, but I enjoyed the level of challenge. Will definitely be one of those videos I highlight and keep around on my channels, give it a try you won't regret it.… Expand

    This is such a nice game, to be honest. Challenging, but doable. I am in love with pixel art games and this was honestly just a delight to play

However, I'm not sure why our game received only one official Metacritic review with the lowest review score I have seen by far. As a counter balance; Steam users score 92%, JogandoCasualmente 90%, GameBlast 85%, LIFEISXBOX 83%, Última Ficha 80%, Dave ChatsFull disclosure: I am the lead designer on Mayhem in Single Valley.     I honestly can't see how anyone has rated this this highly. Once you get past the charm of the pixelart style there's VERY little gameplay here. Seems only pixelart fans are reviewing this one with hardly anyone critiquing the actual gameplay. I don't let modern games slide on beautiful graphics alone and I won't let this slide on style alone.     The first 15 minutes had my hopes high. I hoped I was seeing a new Monkey Island/Willie Beamish with some action mixed in and humor to keep you entertained. Why let me move stuff if there's never anything hidden under it? Way too few items to interact with. Throwing dog poop into your neighbor's grill did nothing. Throwing dog poop into your other neighbor's pool once again did nothing. NPCs have extremely limited responses. Inventory is laughably small. Massive opportunities wasted to keep me entertained. Once I was 20 screens past leaving my yard I was dead bored. Dodge> run> dodge> 1 shot death> dodge> use item to distract ONE enemy while 3 more bear down on you. No attack, just run run run.... Pointless and ridiculously shallow. Being able to select from music you've picked up would be nice too if you get one you don't like.

    It feels like a graphically upgraded NES game but many NES games were deeper than this. I only gave it the 3 for the music and art style, but there needs to be far more game here than just presentation.

    Not nostalgic enough to tickle that bone and too shallow to stand with today's games. Indie =/= an excuse to have below phone level gameplay. Sorry, but this was uninstalled within 45 minutes. The boring slog isn't worth it to find out if it gets any better.    … Expand

    Amazing & underrated game, don't believe the 'none credible' so called magazine giving it 4, it's a masterpiece that deserve a higher score, well done Fluxscopic

    Mayhem in Single Valley is a botched adventure, lacking in playful ideas and too dense with narrative nonsense that is never hilarious or exciting.
