Great hidden gem in a large stream of games currently available. The graphics is somewhat basic but OK, music is fine, so is voice actinig. But, most importantly, it's a great classic platformer with great puzzle elements. I'm far from young age, but I still enjoyed the game much. Some puzzles/secrets are pretty challenging and it feels really good then you solve them. Great classic game overall!

It's great to see that platformers are still being made. I grew playing them in the arcades and on consoles. Max and the Curse of Brotherhood is a prime example of great gameplay and design. It's not terribly original but what it lacks in innovation it makes up in exciting gaming. The puzzles aren't very difficult but you need some brain power to figure them out. The puzzles aren't very difficult but you need some brain power to figure them out. The physics are on point and add to the puzzle-solving and action. Great lighting effects and level design. You are on edge: running, jumping and swinging all over the place. The story is very slim and there's little dialogue. It's a short game (finished it in less than 10 hours) but the trial-and-error mechanics and hidden items give it such excitement and replay ability. I played it with a dumb grin on my face. Expand

One of the best plaforme game i've played for a long time. I have the same feeling playing this game than when i was playing Heart of Darkness on PS1. I would love a sequel. I think this game is better than Rayman Origins / Legends, Giana Sisters, etc...

I wish the developers did more with the idea of the magic marker, but Curse of the Brotherhood makes up for its shortcomings with wonderful visuals, vivid world and a likeable protagonist. [Sept 2014, p.69]

Max isn't a bad game. It has some fun puzzles, pretty graphics, and in general things work as they should. Almost everything about it is perfectly decent.
